Pro Hit List PSL Wrap: Mweene makes winning start

Zambia first choice goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene on Wednesday made a winning start in his first game this season for defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mweene had prior to Wednesday been on the bench in Sundowns last three competitive games before playing in the 2-0 away win over Moroka Swallows.

The win was the defending champions first league win lifting them up to four points from three games played.

Elsewhere in the PSL on the night, Zambia captain Christopher Katongo was on the bench for Bidvest Wits who won 1-0 at home against Maritzburg United.

Striker Collins Mbesuma started for Mpumalanga Black Aces in their 2-0 home defeat against Platinum Stars before he was substituted on the hour mark.

On Tuesday, defender Joseph Musonda was on the bench for his new club Polokwane City who were beaten 2-1 at home by Ajax Cape Town.

Winger Clifford Mulenga too watched Ajax win from the bench.

  1. Pitso Mosimane is just finding out that experiments dont work. Mweene won him the title last season but then he decided to bench him this season and he won nothing. Mweene comes back and he has a clean sheet! Abakali bakali!

    • And what has happened to that boy MUKUKA MULENGA? If Pitso cant play him then he should let him go. The boy is highly talented and nobody should be allowed to waste his time.
