Are Power Dynamos victims of their own transfer policy?

Share

Power Dynamos and likely to feel the impact of their 2014 season transfer module starting this weekend.

Third placed Power have depended on goals from striker Jimmy Ndlovu who is their top scorer this season on nine goals.

Ndhlovu will miss Power’s crucial home fixture this Saturday against second placed Zesco United who are five points ahead of them on 37 and 42 points respectively.

The striker is away on trials in South Africa at Moroka Swallows.

It will be a double-blow for Power if his trials are successful.

Firstly, Power will be robbed of a consistent goal scorer well aware that the second top marksman in the team is a defensive midfielder.

Rochard Kasonde has eight goals mostly from set piece situations, something no coach will adopt as attacking doctrine.

Stuttering striker Alex Ngonga is stuck with just five goals heading into Week 21 and with nine games left to play.

Secondly for Power, they will not benefit a cent from Ndhlovu’s sell, all proceeds instead will go to Nkana who loaned the striker to Power for the 2014 season.

It could also get worse with defender Nyambe Mulenga expected to start against Power where he sort refugee status after opponents Zesco in their great wisdom thought he was a liability to their 2014 project.

Nyambe shined at Power and Zesco swallowed their pride and exercised their legitimate right to activated the recall clause in the loan deal.

Meanwhile, Power’s fans have been somewhat pacified with the return to Arthur Davies of nomadic striker Lottie Phiri on a free transfer and who made his debut in last weekends 1-1 away draw at stuttering mid-table side Green Buffaloes.

Should Lottie deliver against Zesco, it could bring some much needed respite for the bench and club hierarchy who have come under-fire from the fans as the dream start Power enjoyed this season is slowing turning into another false dawn we have all become accustomed to at Arthur Davies.
