Chief Katyetye supports the firing of Kabimba

Share

Chief Katyetye of the Tambo people of Isoka in Muchinga Province has commended President Michael Sata for firing Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Wynter Kabimba who was also Justice Minister.

In an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Chinsali today, Chief Katyetye said as a traditional ruler he has welcomed the dismissal of Mr Kabimba, saying the move will unite the party and the nation.

Chief Katyetye said the firing of Mr Kabimba has not come as a surprise to him because he has been following closely the developments in the ruling party, adding that he has not been happy with what has been going on in the PF especially with regards to the behavior of Mr Kabimba.

He charged that Mr Kabimba is not a leader and that his firing is long overdue.

He said as a traditional leader he is very happy with the general performance of the PF Government with its robust development programme covering the entire nation.

Chief Katyetye said the PF Government has performed better than any other past government in the few years it has been in power under the able leadership of President Sata who he described as a man of action who is committed to transform the entire country.

President Sata yesterday fired Wynter Kabimba as party Secretary General and Justice Minister.

President Sata has since appointed Defence Minister, Edgar Lungu, as Party Secretary General and Justice Minister.

And Muchinga Province Minister, Gerry Chanda, has charged that it is wrong for any PF party member to start campaigning for presidency which is not vacant.

Speaking in Chama District yesterday when he addressed district and constituency party officials in the council chamber, Col Chanda said the party leadership in the district should not allow any minister to campaign for the presidency because President Sata is fine and still President of the Republic of Zambia.

Col Chanda said it is wrong for anyone within the party to start campaigning for a position which is not vacant adding that the party should instead concentrate on party mobilisation and recruitment in readiness for the 2016 tripartite elections.

He said with the unprecedented development that the country has witnessed in the few years under the leadership of President Sata, the PF party will continue ruling for the next 50 years.

    • Wynter tried to call cobra yesterday his calls where being answered by chellah he asked to speak to his father he was told the man was working quietly from Nkwazi house, his call would be returned..its been zii since lunchtime yesterday…he now joins Masebo and Lungu not on the bench but in the terraces

    • My earlier posting on the “Hero to Zero” has been vindicated already.
Where has this chief been all alone when people including his subjects have been complaining about their disapproval for Wynter Kabimba? Why didnt he publicly speak out his displeasure at Wynters dis-uniting of the PF party? Now Wynter is gone the two faced leaders begin to surface in condemning him when they should have been “leaders” in calling for his removal.

  1. This is pure Bemba tribalism…How do you hate some one cos he is a hard worker ? Lets wait and see how fossil Chikwanda and Kaponya Kambwili are going to campaign for PF.Kabimba just form a party and we shall support you. Those against u are fewer than those who admire your rare leadership qualities.

    • he is gone. history in politics. at one time in Zambia’s political life there existed Wynter
He might be intelligent, strong, performer…. but is not a presidential material as he lack leadership qualities as his level of influence is very low and bull dozing.

  2. This is just Bemba tribalism.Does hard work mean one is repositioning one self ? We are yet to see how kaponya kambwili and fossil chikwanda will campaign for PF.

    • You shall reap what you sow

Kabimba hummered Given Lubinda, GBM, and now himself. there are no politics here. why have we supported Edgar Lungu? is he bemba? its because he has morals and integrity in his leadership approach. if he is a leader, hwy has he gone on terraces instead of joining given, silvia, mwila……..

  3. Tribalist. Let him stick to his witchracft and not politics. It is unlawful for such people to get involved in politics

  4. This terrible hatred for one man , what has Winter done to deserve this why every one coming out their holes just to say , well in bemba they say pansaka tapabula chiwelewele

  5. I hate people who just support things after they have happened and have no balls to talk about them before. The only heroes here are Chikwanda and Kambwili. They are men of valour, the rest are cowards.

  6. Aka ka Chief nikamuselela kwakaba. All along he was quiet when Kabimba was misbehaving. I wont be surprised that he is one of those small chiefs who ate from Wynter’s plate.

  7. PF in Luwingu says it is a surprise, it will not comment as for now, let others comment on the matter and will follow suit
