Zambia u20 hope to finish the Senegal job

Share

Zambia Under-20 are 90 minutes away from ending their seven year absence from the African Youth Championship.

Hector Chilombo’s side lead Malawi 2-1 from the final round, first leg played on August 16 in Blantyre.

A draw will be enough for Zambia to make their sixth tournament appearance since making their debut in 1991 in Egypt.

Chilombo said the team is injury free and ready for Malawi whom they dispatched to their first loss in the qualifiers in which they drew twice and picked up as many wins including a shock 2-0 away win over DR Congo in the previous round.

“We are ready and want to qualify and we are one step away from Senegal,” Chilombo said.

“We did well away that was a good performance and we just have to finish the game here and should not allow the Malawians to score against us.”
