Green Eagles hold Nchanga Rangers

Share

Nchanga Rangers were held to a goalless draw by visiting Green Eagles on Sunday in a FAZ Super League round 22 match played at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola.

A draw was a fair result for both Nchanga and Eagles as the two teams missed a litany of scoring opportunities.

Credit should also goal to Nchanga keeper Jairos Mulenga and his Eagles counterpart Satchmo Chakawa for their fantastic saves in both halves.

Eagles defender Tindi Mwanza denied Nchanga a chance to take a lead when he cleared Martin Daka’s goal bound close range low shot in the 24th minute.

A minute later Eagles threatened to score with winger Paul Malama shooting slightly wide from inside the box.

Three minutes after the restart, striker Lineker Mwiikisa forced a save from keeper Mulenga after cutting inside the box.

But the best chance of the match fell on Nchanga striker Patrick Kabamba who ballooned the ball over the bar from close range with Chakawa completely beaten on 68 minutes.

And in the lunchtime kick off at the same venue, second from bottom Konkola Mine Police beat their local rivals Konkola Blades in a Chililabombwe derby.

Chanda Mushili scored the games lone goal from close range in the 3rd minute.
