Coach Honour Janza recalled Nkana striker Ronald Kampamba hours after leaving him out of the initial 28-member Chipolopolo squad to face Mozambique in this Saturday’s 2015 Africa Cup qualifier in Ndola.

Kampamba was part of the Zambia squad that trained behind closed doors at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

The 2013 and 2012 FAZ Super League top scorer joined camp on Monday night after receiving a late call from Janza.

Meanwhile midfield Nathan Sinkala and striker Jacob Mulenga have all reported to camp and trained with the likes of captain Christopher Katongo and his brother Felix, Collins Mbesuma, Jonas Sakuwaha, Emmanuel Mbola, Chisamba Lungu, Mulenga Mukuka and Kabaso Chongo in Kitwe.

And goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene, Rainford Kalaba, Given Singuluma, Fwayo Tembo and Kampamba had light training separately from the rest of the team under physician Gibson Chaloba.

Chipolopolo face Mozambique at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday and will take on Cape Verde away in Praia four days later.

  1. This headline reminds me when we were walloped by South Africa in the World Cup 1998 qualifiers. As the country was anxiously waiting to see if the nation’s dependable defender, Elijah Litana was going to make it for the game, we woke up to the headline “Litana Jets In”!!! We were massacred 3-0, the rest is history!!!

    • Nothing has changed as its the same mindset Janza was under Patrice who was mentored by the PE tutor HR…they will not bring in fresh faces as the corruption is ingrained and they would be found out.
Zambia needs new ideas not the selfsame recycled hogwash!!
