Zambia hold lock down training

Share

Zambia kicked off their 2015 Africa Cup Group F qualifier preparations to face Mozambique on Saturday with a closed door training session in Kitwe since switching camp from Lusaka to the Copperbelt on Monday.

Honour Janza took his players through the paces locked-in behind the high walls of Arthur Davies Stadium to dodge the euphoria of Sunday’s 3-1 friendly win over Sudan at Heroes stadium in Lusaka.

There was a surprise in training with striker Ronald Kampamba in attendance just 24 hours after he was initially dropped for the qualifiers against Mozambique and Cape Verde on September 6 and 10 respectively.

Zesco United striker Wintson Kalengo too was recalled but there was no room for Zanaco midfielder Roderick Kabwe.

Missing from training were Southampton striker Emmanuel Mayuka and Sochaux defender Stopilla Sunzu who were expected later on Tuesday.

Nathan Sinkala was part of team training.

Meanwhile, Zambia on Wednesday afternoon will play Zesco United in a closed door training game at Saturday’s match venue at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

  1. I knew SATE SATE wil be called back by Janza, even if he dont make it into the term as long as he train wth them his time wil come when he wil put on jessy 9 in NATION TERM.
    Iam for him.

  2. This is the problem with local coaches, they lucky principle. Make solid decisions, once and for all. Sate Sate was out and that it, imwe Ba Janza
Just because we complained Sate Sate and Fwayo’s omission, does not mean you have to recall them.
And don’t CHANGE your mind about the camptain, the new captain is Kalaba.

  3. If you ask me, my humble opinion is that Collins Mbesuma has done his part and has lived past his time. It’s the coaches realised that he has outlived his usefulness and no matter how many call outs they hand him he cannot make a positive contribution to the squad
