Share

Vanquished Chipolopolo on Thursday night quietly returned from Cape Verde after losing 2-1 in a Group F 2015 Africa Cup qualifier in Praia.

The chartered plane carrying the team touched down at Lusaka’s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport slightly after 21h00.

Deputy Sports Minister Christopher Mulenga he was happy with Zambia’s performance in Cape Verde despite the team ending on the losing side.

“As delegation team leader I am happy with the way you played despite the turbulence we experienced before we came. I am impressed with your discipline and I am here to assure you that government will handle all your grievances,” Mulenga told the players prior to departure in Praia.

He backed coach Honour Janza to steer Zambia to 2015 AFCON qualification.

“I know that our coach has a vision that will make us win all our remaining games.”

Cape Verde top Group F with six points, Mozambique are second after drawing 1-all with Niger and Zambia are stuck on one point.

Zambia faces Niger away in Niamey on 11 October.

    • Nothing will go right under PF. Everything is just a big mess. Even the roads they are constructing are substandard.

Now that the fake Sata has achieved his fake electoral victory he will go back into hiding again.

    • Chipolopolo ‘s woes have nothing to do with the coach. Their failure has everything to do with PF written all over.

The players struggled psychologically to play the game and they are not going to be paid their allowances soon because the government has no money.

I suspect Kambwili sold the game to cape verde for a few thousand dollars, and then use morale destroying tactics to deliver his deal. Under PF anything is possible.

    • @wanzelu sometimes your writings make intresting reading but occasionally you go off key,PF has nothing to do with the teams poor performance, even your undp in power things would be just the same…

    • buti nga musungu, ninshi namulumba!!! let the zambian coach stay unless we can find another zambian coach better, its time we took pride in our own zambian coaches whether we qualify to afcon, world cup or not. we are building a level of experience by just letting Janza coach. winning sometimes isnt measured by reaching a mark, it is measured by the path traveled to the mark, thats what PhDs were back in those days not anymore atleast. Dont you just get tired of being told, as black people you can achieve anything unless you get the help of a white person. doesnt it make you sick or drive you more to be self independent and do things for yourselves? Our zambian coaches can learn from the world over by attending seminars, schools for coaches etc and then transforming it to suit zambia.

  1. That’s what u should expect when u ill prepare for a game. First of all we shouldn’t have drawn with Mozambique & the loss to CV has made matters worse. I just hope coach janza has an ace up his sleeve to make chipolopolo win the remaining matches, otherwise its bye bye Afcon 2015.

  2. @Kafue
Where do you want the coach to go? Ghana, Nigeria and, if I could recall, Ethiopia had their local coaches and these teams did well well. You are the sort of citizens who let our country down by seeing everything Zambia as substandard – that is wrong. Probably someone told you that a foreign coach has an advantage of fielding more than 11 player on a pitch, you were cheated, they both have a limit of 11 players to field.
Our lads, if I can copy Liwewe’s words, did extremely well. They managed to repel pressure from themselves to Cape Verde. We had more scoring chances than they did and we could penetrate their defence.
    Travel arrangements…???

    • True.we should take pride in ourselves even if we fall a million times.we just have to pick ourselves up and learn from that and continue, asking someone all the time to pick you up is a burden to both the picker and the pickee in the long run. Janza stays, better we dont qualify to afcon but we are with our own coach. we dont want our legacy and future achievement to be attributed to other entities other than zambian.Take pride in zambia/africa.Be unapologetically african.Dont give excuse for your name if a white man cant spell or pronounce your name, dont change it to “in short you can call me tim”,dont look down on your fellow brothers as reasons for failure when amongst whites, own up and defend,be proud of every African as if your life depended on it.Correct him when you get home

    • Being proud and confident about ourselves doesn’t mean praising our mediocre coaches. We must be proud of the cream we can produce not the chaff. If you want to find Zambias cream you don’t go about it the way FAZ has done in hand picking Chansa Janza

  3. Some small-minded ***** at Football house deserves the chiding. That chartered plane scandal contributed to the loss. I expected a 6;1 walloping. As a team, the Chipolopolo still glitter.

  4. Kaya 2015 AFCON!

Christopher, his younger feller, Mbesuma, Mweene (he likes conceding silly goes), Mbola must be used sparingly.

Let young strikers do the job.

  5. @Wanzelu. I’ve read a number of your posts and 99% are rubbish! But this time you have hit an all time low. Wabe T gigili! Just because your party got it’s c0ck cleaned you bring your ru$$ish when we are discussing out loved sport. Go $cr€w yourself
