President Michael Sata has thanked the people of Zambezi West, Vubwi and Mkushi South for coming out resoundingly to vote for the Patriotic Front (PF) and its candidates in the September 11 by elections.

President Sata said the trouncing of the opposition Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) and United Party for National Development (UPND) in the three parliamentary by- elections is for the people of Zambia, and reinforces the PF government’s commitment to distribute development to all parts of the country.

The Head of State said this in a statement released to the media by his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations George Chellah.

“The people have made a clear choice against politics of hate and ill-will and have resolutely decided to vote for development and unison.”

“They have also freely shown that they are willing to side with a progressive movement that is committed to delivering inclusive growth,” “said President Sata.

The Head of State said the people in the three constituencies have with certainty rejected opportunism and meaningless political rhetoric in preference for national development and unity.

President Sata praised supporters from all political parties that participated in the by-elections countrywide for exhibiting impressive levels of restraint, humility and maturity.

He said government remains committed to engaging progressive forces within the opposition in its quest to implement pro-poor measures that will culminate into speedy economic expansion, job creation and poverty reduction.

The President also congratulated the opposition MMD and UPND for winning the Kasenengwa and Solwezi Central parliamentary by-elections respectively.

The PF scooped three out of the five by elections that were held on Thursday, September 11 while the opposition MMD and UPND shared one apiece.

    • Zambians have resolutely spoken, saying that they have more faith and trust in PF than any political party in the country.

With the people on the side of PF, continue delivering development across the country to improve people’s lives. You are on course, stay focused.

Dont get distracted by cheap political talk from the impotent opposition

    • But this President, he is only being photographed on his side view or side elevation for those who did Technical Drawing. We need to see the Front elevation, is there something wrong with the Front elevation?

    • Reporter : President Sata, Your party just keeps on scooping parliamentary seats. Can you tell us the reason why they keep on voting for your party ?
Sata : You are the so called reporter, ask them !!

    • “The people have made a clear choice against politics of hate and ill-will and have resolutely decided to vote for development and unison. They have also freely shown that they are willing to side with a progressive movement that is committed to delivering inclusive growth”- said President Sata. I hope Sunny Chitombwa aka HH the bitter man is listening. No matter how much he will use his Zambian watchdog and facebook to spread hate, false Sata death rumours and terminal illness nothing will come out of it. Thumbs up PF !!

    • @Gundown

The reason why he is only photographed from the side is because he is Sata ‘s impersonator wearing Sata’s rubber mask. Its no wonder they select which reporters to come close to him. Of late the even post is not trusted any more and are not allowed near him.
When he appears in public he only speaks for 3 minutes. Thats all he has mastered. He is usually afraid to speak at length for fear of being caught out.

He should instead thank those money loving ECZ minions who helped to rig the elections for his party to win the by elections. In places where the opposition parties were vigilant like Solwezi and Kasenengwa PF lost dismally because those minions were caught and prevented from rigging the elections.Victory achieved by fraudulent means is a serious cause for concern…

  1. A Zambian national has just died this morning from Ebola in Chipata. She arrived from west africa a few days ago. this is not a drill. take precaution !!!!!!!!!!!! warning !!!!!!!!!!!
evans mfula at evaduco reporting live from the suburbs of Lusaka.

  2. This chief apostle of tribalism, what are you saying? You liar we know you. Your tribalism is slowly taking you to the grave.

    • @”And You”, I know you are talking about your party UPND which is going to the grave, soon there will be coffins for UPND so that UPND can be buried as a party which is soon going to fall into oblivion soon unless they not you but they choose a more mature, honest non tribal leader of that party called UPND. Wanzelu you must really be feeling like a rabid dog or hyena that has been cornered with no other place to run, have you seen how many pro PF brothers have emerged here in cyberspace to combat your evil and bitter manifestations? Now that your cousins like jay jay, dudelove, cjay, ndobo and other paid thugs have lost hope after ranting nonsense these past months its you and a few of your siblings that continue to vomit treacherous lies. Shame on you wanzelu..

  3. But this President, he is only being photographed on his side view or side elevation for those who did Technical Drawing. We need to see the Front elevation, is there something wrong with the Front elevation?

    • If I am “really mediocre” please give me reasons why I should abandon my mediocrity because without any reasons, I will ask were there is need to ask.

People can not be pointing at someone who they say is your father and all you ever see is his ear and a seeminglyki thin chick-bone.

  4. @2020vision-MPs don’t have money or are not given money to develop their constituencies from the national treasury but only lobby/ speak for their constituencies @ ratify laws! Its only a drop of CDF that goes to these constituencies via councils! It is solely a duty of the President via his useless ministers how don’t develop some selected provinces/constituences.Mind you all provinces/ citizenry whether in opposition/ ruling party contribute to the treasury even when these resources go to some selected provinces which is a sign of tribalism @ ethnocentrism. This is very vivid @ discernable which is totally unaceptable in zambia @ all well rational zambians MUST NOW ADVOCATE FOR ECONOMIC REVOLUTION COME 2016. NO MORE BUFI!

    • But why did one puerile opposition president ask all his mps to oppose EVERYTHING Sata sent to parley (wrong or right) so as to frasturate his works?

  5. UPND is deluding itself that victories by PF in the 3 constituencies was as a result of vote buying .The truth of the matter is that the PF Government has taken development to aII corners of the county and people voted for PF especially in rural areas to say thank you for the noble cause . As of today the Government has already spent $1.6 billion on the Link Zambia 8000 project, a project which will gobble $5 billion when complete.

    • @Zebron.

You are one deluded fellow also. How many projects initiated by Sata and PF have been completed so far? I only know of the projects which MMD left to be ones that have been completed because they were funded under MMD. Some of these projects initiated by MMD have stalled due to PF ‘s mismanagement.

All I have seen initiated by PF which is almost complete is the Mushindo Universities in Muchinga province. Even them wont be ready until next year August due lack of funds and yet PF got $1.75 billion. The railways are still not revamped to levels promised. Instead the money meant for revamping the railways has been used to buy votes .

Its a worry to have people who think like that in this day and age when countries like Namibia and Bostwana are developing quicker than…

    • @Wanzelu, the projects initiated by the PF government have not been completed because they are infrastructural in nature and therefore cannot be completed in a day. On the issue of road projects, particularly the Link Zambia 8000 project this is a purely PF plan and is even embedded in it’s Manifesto. The plan for MMD on roads focused on road rehabilitation and not road development but if in doubt you can verify with the 2011-2015 strategic plan which was coined by the MMD.Please be informed that works on these projects are ongoing and have not stalled.Thousands of Zambian youths have been employed by the Zambia Railways in its quest to revamp the railway sector. On the issue of economic development, the PF Government has managed to grow the economy by 7% since 2011 which is unprecedented

  6. Hey what has happened to the president of the party whose strong hold is only in southern province? Is it true that he is planing to do a Sata too,lay low for 90 days!

    • @Donchi

He is not going to hide like Sata. Even though he does, he is still a private citizen allowed to what he wants because he is on the public’s pay like Sata who is paid more money for hiding.

HH is a public figure yes, but not paid by the tax payers, and as such not accountable to any Zambian at all. All the money he has is out using his own brains unlike the thug Sata who can not exist without being a political parasite.

It only happens in Zambia where a president in hiding continues to receive money for doing nothing.

Zambia needs a revolution not seen in Africa before.

    • @wanzelu

You are being perfectly silly. Why do you think your strenuous rhetoric is going to mobilise good thinking Zambians? You can’t just disagree with everything the gov’t does; that is just subversive ranting. You are not the perfect mouthpiece for HH, as you you attach your subversion theories to him. If he wants to be President of Zambia he needs to show that he is a patriot. He needs to abandon politics of hatred.

It’s not a revolution that is required, but a good campaign strategy full of vision for Zambia that will help HH, and the opposition at large, achieve a larger share of voter numbers. Get this; you are alienating Zambians by name calling and spilling bile everywhere. You sound a very unpleasant man who lives under Gods sun to spread hatred. Have some…

  7. To real political analysts: a rural vote is a disaster @ a wrong signal.Ask Fired Disgrutled Red Lips Kabimba who holistically described PF voters @ supporters correctly intellectualy-IRRETERATE or if not so then MASUMBA FORMULA OF OBTAINING CERTIFICATES.SURELY PF must be really worried of this trend of voting than sounding trumphets of such victories! This is sad indeed just keep quiet!Should these rural voters be counsiutised very soon you are dead @ burried-history like UNIP /MMD! How about this pending reality?

    • @Civilised

      You are absolutely right.

By wining seats in rural areas by crook or hook, the PF have now exposed them selves to rural scrutiny. If they fail to deliver on their promises, which I am 110% they will, the rural community will ditch them once and for all.

At one point I said its good for PF to win as many seats as possible so that their lies is known across the country. MMD did the same, and they thought they got the majority Zambians under their spell, not realising that Zambians across the country wanted them out. The same is going to hit the PF in 2016.

    • Look @Wanzelu and @Civilised

The nature of an ambitious man is that he/she will be even more dedicated to hit the finishing line first. PF will, in the time they have before general elections fight harder to complete as much as they can of their development plan.

It’s simply that there is no credible opposition, although MMD carries itself well most of the time. The only time we have witnessed desperation from MMD is when Dr Mumba called on his supporters to damage gov’ts property recently.

  8. We can be ” finitely disappointed BUT never loose infinite hope”-Martin Luther Jr. Ba UPND never loose hope continue moving.
    Soldier on.

Sata WITH HIS PF are NOT GOING ANYWHWERE !!!. Will follow them even to there graves !!.

    • @Anderson Chisala

We in UPND are soldiering on. We are making stead gains amidst the hostile and corrupt political environment. Even the PF are afraid of UPND and HH. HH is Sata and PF ‘s biggest threat.

We are worried about PF ‘s fake victory because by mid next year PF will disintegrate completely. There is more implosion to come within PF when Kabimba and Mmembe decide to join hands and form a party of their own using the millions they have looted so far. They wil wage a war against the PF and expose more corruption within PF.

Mmembe can hold grudges against any one who opposes him even if that person apologises. Very soon he will start spilling more beans about the operations of the PF and its thugs.

  9. I am also appealing to President Sata to remove all the corrupt cops at kabangwe road block on great north road. We stay in traffic for 2 hours and not because cops are checking cars but because cops are not conscious and intelligent to know that delays affect productivity. The traffic is just unbearable and what worsens the situation is the following, mandevu traffic lights non functional, let’s put a round about, single lane from indepence stadium on such a traffic voluminous road and thirdly thieves in uniform at kabangwe check point delaying traffic

  10. @wanzelu just admit it your president is still a “fyompa mamina” under 5 what has happened he use to release press releases almost everyday, now nothing. Is it the case of when the cat is away?Am willing to pay for his tuition fees yaku under 5 aponasa sana ama exams yaku under 5,here is cell number 096600000000.

    • @Donchi

Are you aware that your president Sata has lost total control of his excretory organs such that he wears adult diapers now. Who is the real under 5 now?

Of course you are but in total denial like most PF minions.

  11. JUST WANT TO FIND OUT WHY TRAFFIC OFFICERS MOUNT ROADBLOCKS THROUGHOUT THE NIGHTS. ITS NORMAL FOR CHECK POINTS TO BE MAINTAINED BUT SURELY NOT ROADBLOCKS WE SEE ALL OVER ON OUR ROADS. ITS SEEMS THAT THE MOTIVATING FACTOR IS THE CASH THESE POLICE OFFICERS COLLECT WITHOUT RECEIPTS. RATSA SHUD ALSO CONSIDER REDUCING PENALTIES FOR TRAFFIC OFFENDERS,THESE HAVE JUST BENEFITTED THE TRAFFIC OFFICERS NOT GOVT.PEOPLE CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THESE HIGH FEES SO THEY NEGOTIATE WITH TRAFFIC OFFICERS AND AT THE END CORRUPTION TAKES PLACE .THIS WHAT IS MOTIVATING THESE TRAFFIC OFFICERS TO WORK THROUGHOUT THE NIGHTS,AND HAVE TAKEN OVER CHECK POINTS

  12. @nail…MMD started in urban areas if history is still varied then with time it started losing its populality in these areas but moved to rural pipo who are gullibles. Then finally lost it- up to now they continue losing!Mind you MMD had visionary educated men@women unlike this one term party with Its tribal talisman leader as its only core business all the time!

  13. Lack of strategy and the wrong messages to the electorate at rallies is what caused UPND to lose. Some chaps will try and twist facts but the truth is UPND is it’s own worst enemy!

    • @Chekov

Spot on! That is why they failed. Add to that, they alienate voters by name calling and just being totally unpleasant.

  14. Its just sickening that one can take glory of the out-come of these elections when they were marred with high numbers of voter apathy….no one even the clueless opposition seems not to addressing this fact to ECZ. How can you be celebrating hosting a successful party when half of your invited guests have not turned up.
And old man Sata must either be one of the most laziest president or most arrogant president in Zambia’s history who issues everything via his immature press aid.

    • @ Jay Jay, it is not true that all the constituencies in last weeks bye elections were marred with voter apathy and a case in point is Zambezi – West . In 2011 about 5,000 electorates cast vote and last week about 4,900 turned up to vote meaning that there was over 90% participation rate . UPND was just beaten cleanly in Zambezi – West because their was nothing the people could point at which the former MP, Charles Kakoma Archived

    • @zebron

      Zambezi West total voters: 10,206
      Total Voted: 4,924
Rejected ballot papers amounted to: 55

Your figures are wrong. There is a problem with registered voters failing to vote. Something needs to happen to encourage citizens of voting age to vote come 2016. Their needs to be a campaign. We want representative gov’t in power.

    • @ patriot abroad, my figures are not wrong. As you have correctly posted 4,924 people participated in last weeks Zambezi- West bye election. In 2011 about 5,ooo people Participated in the Zambezi – West election meaning that almost ( over 90% ) all the people who voted in 2011 also participated in last weeks election.

  15. PF wining 3/5 shows that these by-election were not rigged. Otherwise PF could won all the 5 by-elections. It is also to note the the president sent his congrates to the other parties for winning the 2 seats.

One more thing; I have observed that since coming out hibernation, the president has been much wiser, humble, compassionate and grateful. I hear he wants to reconcil with Chiti-mukulu. It is often said near-death experience can change one’s life.

  16. Wenzelu, self denial is part of us but extreme is classified as a mental disorder. Arguing for the sake of arguing raises a lot of questions about your integrity and profoundly your understanding of politics. In many cases I have tried to reach out to you by saying your contributions are highly toxic fuelled by hate, envy, clueless, character assassination that are purely born out of your genetic composition and largely upbringing. This kind of contribution in my view has profoundly great negative impact on HH and UPND. If surely HH has hired you this is not good for him /UPND image. Being moderate and accepting defeats or wrongs will strengthen your resolve unlike this kind of garbage. HH possibly is a good man and willing to work with others but the level of contributions/hate exhibited

    • Wanzeru,’s contributions are his own just like post news paper didn’t represent the views of all pf members, its unwise to advise wanzeru to tone down and u the advisor put..genetic inborn and tie it to HH ..and say these are what makes the moderate skeptical of upnd, this shows that your advise is premeditated hiding in wolf skin.

  17. In any given race ,there are winners and losers,if the losers are hipped with all kinds of ridicules by the winners, that’s not democracy.in fact it’s good to lose in mp by election because it allows the losers to go back to the drawing board, remember it takes a thief to catch a thief,I think time will come when kabimba will sell the winning secret to the opposition.the president is wrong to thank only people pf emerged victorious,he should thank all voters who gave seats to the opposition as well and stress that’s what democracy entails.as a president your message should be that of unity ,peace and love.

  18. PF took advantage of ill-educated rural folk who are easily bribed with chitenge and mealy meal. This is not a win,its a loss for democracy.

  19. chikubabeniso there is no shrewd of truth in your contribution whatsoever. My advise to wanzelu is based on my better understanding of politics and what makes other people change their mind to support who ever they feel comfortable with. What supporters say or write will profoundly paint either good or bad image of the person they are support and in this case it’s HH. We used to maestro with better understanding and has passionate about Upnd. And HH . He was genius and full of sense of humour . We used disagree and agree. Hen he is wrong will accept and that made him won him respect not insults and name calling we are observing and witnessing.

  20. Absolutely sick and retarded to vote for PF and clueless chi Sata. Those who voted PF must be Angolan refugees-take ’em back home.

  21. Out of hibanation! now you see ma now you dont. 2016 is coming to be seen in all Provinces and Districts ‘ba kamba ikesa kosa inchito ne catheter pa leg’.

  22. The best solution is for the opposition to convince some pf mps to impeach the tired president, not this foolary of constitution day out day in.
