Konkola’s Maseneko celebrates Zambia call-up

Share

In-form Konkola Blades striker Humphrey Maseneko says he is thrilled to receive a national team call-up from Chipolopolo coach Honour Janza.

Maseneko was on Tuesday named in the 27-member home based Zambia squad for the monthly training camp that starts next week.

The ex-Mufulira Wanderers forward said he cherishes the call-up.

“No, I was not surprised to be called to the national team,” Maseneko added.

Maseneko has scored seven goals this season for Blades; six in the league and one in the Barclays Cup.

Janza was in the stands at Nkoloma Stadium on Sunday as Maseneko scored a solitary goal to help Konkola beat Zanaco 1-0 in a Barclays Cup quarterfinal match in Lusaka.

“I am very happy and I want to work hard so that the coach can recognize me and call me again,” he said.

The team is expected to regroup in Lusaka on Sunday.

  1. Am surprised that this coach has not been fired just like Nigerian Keshi and Ghanaian Apiah.
Lets not fool ourselves,We are not going to make it to the next AFCON with HJ and by chance we do we will be embarrassed by teams like Algeria,Cameroon and Burkina Faso
We are not serious. The next game with Niger will end up either a draw or a loss or Zambia.
I rest my case you are not paying attention.

  2. That is good news, if you are a good player you can be noticed any where just avoid being nomadic. 2014 beak you wasted your time at PDFC, which come to nothing.

  3. MASENEKO, mwaiche you think you can make it in JANZA’s team? ask me i will tell you one whom this SITE & the MOTHER ZAMBIA would know. To be in that team must work very hard you will make it since you came from SISTER’s team your time will be there ‘NOT’ now.
