Sports and Youths Minister Chishimba Kambwili has come out fuming after the Post Newspapers published a story quoting unknown sources claiming that Mr Kambwili had presidential ambitions.

In its Tuesday, September 16 edition front page story, the Post quoting unknown sources who allegedly attended a closed door meeting President Michael Sata held for party members in Ndola over the weekend said President Sata revealed that Mr Kambwili was planning to succeed him.

But Mr Kambwili in an interview trashed the Post article describing it baseless.

He also denied having presidential ambitions.

“You know the Post have an agenda. It is well known. They are using boys who were working with Wynter (Kabimba) to fight me. I just want to tell them that I cannot be moved by the trash they write about me. Infact Fred M’Membe is the most useless person I have ever met in my life,” Mr Kambwili retorted.

He said the position of party and Republican Presidency is fully occupied by a functional President and wondered why he should start eyeing a post which is not vacant.

Mr Kambwili said he also has a job as Minister of Sports and Youth which he said he has been executing exceptionally well.

“At the moment, my main occupation is to carry out the assignment allocated to me by His Excellency and this is to administer the affairs of Youths and Sports fraternity. All these accusations do not mean anything to me.”

    • PF (including Fred) are all just a bunch of 90-day deceitful liars and hopeless thieves except for Saulosi & Mushota who are ‘faxets’ in addition to that.

You (PF & Fred) are VERY lucky that Zambian voters are easy to fool.

As for me, I’m eagerly awaiting Friday so I can hear Mulenga’s dad’s new voice. I’ll be at Arcades speaking Bemba in a silver Toyota Allion like Mushota’s mother’s one.

      Thanks.

    • This is a sad development if that’s all the Post Newspaper can tabulate these days. If it is at all true then the tabloid has become a “National Inquirer” instead of a responsible media outlet.

Every eligible people among the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise has a legal right to aspire to the Office of the President. Serving the smart people of our Enterprise is a smart and noble cause for any one with the right intentions and vision.

It is all about personal contributions to making a better place than we found it and it should not be used as a weapon to demonize each other and or wantonly waged against each other.

Who tell M’membe that MCS is forever going to hold that office? We have a nation of 14 million individuals all of which have an equal chance of 1 in 14…

    • If it’s true that Zambia including all the respective political parties is a democratic country then there is nothing wrong with having presidential ambitions if done democratically.

    • BR [email protected]
You are right about the right of every Zambian to aspire for the top office. But demography and the constitution do no allow each of the 14 million zambians as you put it. Remember Zambia has got babies as well as Chainama Citizens etc, that do not qualify. Therefore the 1:14… chance is not true.

    • Thought Kambwili was a man enough to say he has at least ambitions for the highest position as there is nothing wrong with such ambitions. What is worrying is the lack of ambition in this man and how he cannot debate issues without showing his high level of kaponyaism in him.

      Address to Kambwili:
Please show some stamina and be truthful to yourself and your followers. You do have ambitions for the highest office of the land. On another hand, please be civil in your language, most of the times you are a disappointment. Look at how you handled your critics for the last arrangements for Zambia football team outing in Cape Verde. Do reflect on this and next time sound like one with a degree from Copper Stone University.

    • While its undeniable that the Post newspaper has involved in shaping the political landscape back in the 1990s, it has also made Fred Mmembe so big headed to the point of feeling untouchable…..that he was an anointed king maker.

Mmembe and his post have the right to promote, campaign and support any candidate or political party of their choice just like any other media outlet.

Its up to the Zambian people to put him in his right place

However, Kambwili may deny what the post wrote but the facts on the ground say different. We all know that kambwili has more cholesterol than brains and he will be digging his own grave taking on the media tup!dly and emotionally like that.

Mmembe has a well established network of reliable sources for news

    • Mr Kambwili, if you consider Mmembe as the most useless person you have ever met, where does that leave you, considering that more than 99% of the people you associate with are more useless than Mmembe?

    • Ba PF Leader:

Your analysis is wrong, every citizen today, born and alive has a 1:14 million chance of becoming President of the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise during their lifetime. It does not even matter how old they are … they have an equal chance, all things being equal in their life to attain that goal.

Please note that I have alluded to “lifetime” and that’s what we should be telling our children, our grand children and their children’s children that nothing should stand in their way of aspiring to that office because they have just an equal chance as any one of us to lead our great nation.

So, get your facts straight, pal … this should be ingrained in our DNA. Every one should look forward to being a public servant of the highest order to take our nation…

    • @BR Mumba

Concur. Sir, Some of our debaters are not very up on the rights of every citizen, including the mentally ill until proven insane/incapable.

    • Bembas are not tribalists and will never be. they the most sociable animals around.

But can they avoid that tag when they have Kambwili and GBM in their grouping?

Kambwili and GBM are not educated so what do you expect them to say when the lack qualitative additions to an arguement? obviously they want to hide in the Bemba tribe.

So People please pardon the Bembas for Kambwili and GBM transgressions.

  1. Fellow Zambians refrain from practicing politics of cynicism and name calling. It takes this country nowhere. Instead, let us be ambitious in building a better Zambia for our children. The media should also spend their energy on covering stories that are of value to this nation. Who cares if the so called Mr Kambwili wants to be president in 2016. He who is desiring the office of the president is doing a good thing as long as he has no evil intentions. Zambia is not a monarch and therefore, anyone can desire to be a president regardless of their tribe and background as long as he or she meets the requirements.

  2. Its not wrong to have presidential ambitions Mr Kambwili but its wrong for The Post to lie if indeed their story is not true.

    • I agree, there’s nothing wrong with having presidential ambitions. I don’t know why we are so scared of admitting it in Zambia

  3. Schadenfraude: I love it when the PF house is fighting against itself bcoz they have long exported vitriol, name calling and smear campaign against others. What goes around……

  4. At Membe is the most useless man I have ever seen. And that coming from a man who the appointing authority calls a useless Minister and useless Mp.

  5. Whichever school toad face went to I would not recommend even to my enemies. He claims he has performed exceptionally well as sports minister a week after a bungled Cape Verde trip.A normal minister would have apologised but toad face chose to insult us for complaining.Am no fun of Sata but can you please save us from Kambwili so that we see how his big bones will keep him fat.

    • mailon u are a biggest fool have ever come across were in the world did everything went accordingly as planned? if u are a very productive person and does ea runs u will easily understand that fracas cape verde trip and not judge him based on that, he is one of the active and fully performing Ministers so far and his ministry is doing very well. Am sure appa u are even holding a pack of shake shake and yet complain ati they are no jobs in Zed

  6. Chimbwili Kashimba is then the most completely useless because looking at how he organized the trip to Cape Verde, imagine it was a nation he was running, total chaos it would be! The chat was in Cape Verde on the beach sucking the nipple of a mullato while his team was still stranded in Ndola hardly 10 hours before the match! And this is the Katangese Boko Haram habouring presidential ambitions, atase!

    • Thing is, Chishimba is not even supposed to be involved in the day to day running of things sports. There are departments and agencies under his office that re designed to do that. His job is to translate policy into roles and responsibilities of these departments and agencies.

Things will always fall apart when people who are supposed to be far removed from the field of action get involved so that they can be seen to be doing something. YOU, bwana Kambwili are interfering with the smooth running of the departments and agencies when you get involved with the technocrats at ground level in the name of “administer the affairs of Youths and Sports fraternity.”

Ministers are supposed to play in the Big Leagues called POLICY Level.

      Get it?

  7. This is a sad development if that’s all the Post can tabulate these days. If it is at all true then the tabloid has become a “National Inquirer” instead of a responsible media outlet.

Who tell M’membe that MCS is forever going to hold that office? We have a nation of 14 million individuals all of whom have an equal chance of 1 in 14 million to take…

  8. There’s obviously no smoke without fire. Anyway these are small internal squabbles that are very healthy for a party and national democracy. Does Mmembe have presidential ambitions?

    • Kabwili, Mmembe and myself are entitled to PRESIDENTIAL AMBITIONS. We are a democratic and christian country. No one should stand in my way to be a president, after all in zambia there are no qualifications to be a president as long as you are above 35 years old. so why all these cries kabwili……go go go forward chishimba

  9. Tabloids normally have fixed positions – either left leaning or right leaning; sometimes center of either. However, in Zambia it is all about scandal-mongering as well as rumor-mongering to sell. I have watched most tabloids oscillate dangerously from one extreme position to the other. This is what leaves a bad aftertaste in the psyches of most readers. As @#Kudos and @PONYAZ remark – perhaps it is time Membe came out of the closet and stop projecting his ambitions onto others…

    • In fact, if you shot him through one ear, the bullet would come out from the other side and Kambwili would just be treated for hearing problems and discharged from hospital the same day.

    • @ james it is not about Kambwili having brains or no brains it is about any Zambian exercising his right to bid for the highest office in the land. I recall when the question of habouring was put before Mike Mulongoti and apt answer he gave “Every politician has or should have an ambition to ascend the ladder or the political pyramid” Simply put if you are a minister and you make a self assessment and you think you have what it takes to be the top man of the land why not try? According to Mulongoti everry has an ambition but it up to the Zambians to make one a president. You have assessed Kambwili and found him wanting as presidential material others may have contrary views on that and don’t call them fools .

    • @Mposa Mabwe, I think you got me wrongly. I know very well everyone has a right to aspire to any office, but bighead no brain instead of addressing the allegation and end there. He goes shoots the messeger with insults. I expect more from his response. Remember the president was quoted and confronted the person who he uses on his errands.

  10. I am also declaring my on-line presidential ambitions. I will stand as an on-line candidate in 2016 and will rule the country-online.

  11. It is actually insulting to even discuss the possibility of Chishimba Kambwili aka CK becoming our President. While CK is eligible for presidency, it is equally true that CK has no capacity or the wisdom to be a president. I get it miracles to happen. as they say; uutola umupamba tashibata. On the otherhand I do agree with CK with his miniature wisdom; the Post/Mmembe has become use-less.

  12. Its not wrong for u Kambwili to admire presidential ambitions. Even the most useless tribalist Hungry Hyna is asparing with his *****ic watchdog campaining for this f.o.o.l.

  13. MEMBE – BITTER -BITTEST
The firing of Wynter Kabimba as minister of Justice and Secretary General of the Patriotic Front PF has angered his friend and self anointed partner in arrogance Membe. From the day Wynter Kabimba was dismissed, Membe has been writing a lot of rubbish in his tool of propaganda the post newspaper. Membe in his own stupid wisdom and shallow thinking has classified the firing of his friend as the work of the corrupt and tribalist in PF. But if I may to ask? Who are the corrupt people he has been referring to who contributed to the down fall of his friend Kabimba? Who are these corrupt people Membe is fearing to mention in his stupid editorial comments? In fact Membe is to brame for Kabimba’s dismissal. WHY? Membe wanted to use Kabimba cover the DBZ K14 billion and…

  14. One wonders where Fred is taking his post newspaper. There are a lot of credible things to report about other than always covering fights. Is it a SPORTs newspaper? Why not for once report about things that would build the LOVE for mother Zambia in the children that stand to be our future leaders? If Sata said that (even on a lighter note), so what? If Kambwili has presidential ambitions, so what? Are you jealous?

Who in Zambia does not want to be CEO of an organisation … even a country? Why do we have the so called “YALI” if not for leadership? The post has trlly lost it’s credibility. One can even predict what they’ll report about tomorrow: KAMBWILI!! So … so boring! Imagine the only flavour we’ve had for their front page is “I’m a Virgin …only need a white man”. Ba…

    • …like I predicted … Today’s headline is still “KAMBWILI …”

Wow … ba POST tapaba ifichitika. Kuwaya waya fye!!!

  15. I always wonder where Sata got this ***** from. Where did drunkard Lungu come from? But then again, Sata is the chief ***** himself. Birds of the same feather flock together. Enuf said. Makes me miss high calibre ministers such as Ron Penza, Paul Tembo, Dean Mungomba, (God bless the gallant departed souls), AKA etc. The original MMD had the cream of vibrant young ministers. We are now left with chaff. Prep to rise to the occasion!

  16. Weather you bembas quarrel one thing you shouldn’t forget is no tribe is superior than the all tribes in Zambia.
THE PERSON TO TAKE OVER PRESIDENCY FROM MR SATA is not going to be from the BEMBA tribe, but from the Lozis,Nsengas,Tongas or Lenjes.Bembas are so selfish,if you want, consult Ruphiah Banda.

    Thanx.

    • @ Lungu I think you are not even from the East. Like the other blogger has blogged the Zambian electorates will decide who becomes our next presido. Your preference of a certain tribe to lead us may not be the preference of the majority Zambians their combined vote may far outweigh your myopic vote or they may side with you but I definitely doubt. Zambians vote for anyone they want regardless of their tribe groupings Sir Lungu.

  17. Mmmmmm iwe lungu efinshi ifyo wayamba ukusabaila? Instead of talkin abt the issue at hand u want to b tribal,u r jus bitter u were not born a bemba

  18. …politicians will never seize to amuse me…their choice of words when provoked is next to nonsense. It is a well known fact that apart from Sata’s charisma, electorate being fed up of MMD 20yr rule, the Post played a considerable role to elevate PF were they are now. Is Kambwili justifying now that after all the post were just ‘useful 1diots’ then..??…all he needed to say was that M’membe HAS become the most useless…….
RB and team and others saw this ‘useless’ status in M’membe long before 2008 and Chishimba is just awakening now to see him as such….???…not long ago they were dining on the same table as birds of the same feathers…..feathers no not change overnight or never change at all…

  19. Kambwili attend Roan Antelope Secondary School (RASS). He was in the same class as Ben Kangwa.
We want Chishimba Kambwili for president.
If a tea maker can become Prime Minister of India (Modi).
Why can’t a Mpatamatu marketeer become President of Zambia?
    Basic logic guys.
    QED.

    • Ba Tom Mabaso. Mwabepa bane. Kambwili never went to RASS. Ben Kangwa, who ever it is was never a classmate. I was with CK from eight to Twelve. Get your facts right before misleading people like the Post.

  20. # Lungu, It is a democracy baba. The pipo will elect the president. Ok lets step back; PF, MMD and UNDP will nominate their presidential candidates. The Winner will be the president. Please manage your expectations. It is also too early to start paniking about this stuff. At the same time if elections were held today under the current constutition, Any PF candidate would be president.

  21. There is nothing of substance in what Kambwili is saying and one can only conclude that the Post report is true. Kambwili should publicly accept that he has presidential ambitions and that’s not a crime. By the way I also have the same ambitions.
Kambwili’s main problem is that of insecurity due to his little or no education and is trying to make up for this by over-rating himself too much {inferiority complex}.

  22. Kambwili has himself to blame on this one. His celebrations over Kabimba’s dismissal is a clear testimony to all that he too is scheming to succeed ba Sata. He acted foolishly! We don’t behave like that in a christian nation. The bible in Proverbs 24:17,18 says, “Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice, or the Lord will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from them”. Given Lubinda should also take lessons from this. Ba Sata is not a small boy. He has seen a lot in his 77 years on earth. Who knows, he might forgive Kabimba one day and reinstate him.

  23. This is bull type syndrome we are seeing in PF – that the kraal belongs to one bull and one bull only. The rest, if not castrated, must be subdued by every means possible! Recently, Kambwili himself was at the fore. He and fellow stooges in PF vehemently went after Kabimba, who they were sure was beginning to groom himself for the high office.

In retribution, Mmembe, a Kabimba fan, is now giving Kambwili a taste of his own bitter medicine. For the enlightened community, however, here is the question that begs explanation: Is it wrong to aspire for presidency within a particular party in Zambia?

    • If you deem it wrong for anyone to aspire for the presidency within a particular party in Zambia, what then are the merits of our democracy? Must our democracy remain a process of escorting one dying president to his grave after another? But ‘until death do us party’, that it is a taboo to challenge an incumbent, even if that incumbent is sheer dead wood?

    • @Mei Matungu
You raise a good debate. I am not sure which way you take on the issue of aspiring to be president. I think it prudent for Party Leaders to be able to assess whether their leadership is good for the party. They should be open to change if their leadership is not supporting voters confidence.

internal party conflict can destroy a party, so it has to control leadership challenges for those that are aspiring to be party leader up democratically. Proper selection channels within the party must be followed. Overthrowing or causing conflict within is not ultimately good for the country.

Kambwili is an obnoxious fellow, who has been ‘dinning’ out on Kabimba’s removal. He needs to litigate. We have heard enough from him on The Post and Kabimba. Lungu control this…

    • Paragraph 2 line 3 should read: ‘aspiring to be party leader undemocratically.’

Last line should read: ‘Lungu control this man.’

    • @Patriot Abroad: I appreciate your views. It’s my faulty understanding perhaps. What I do recall is the saying: “PF is Sata and Sata is PF.” There is substance to this. It is for no other reason that Mr. Sata can wake-up on any good day and fire anybody he wants to fire within PF. It is his party. It belongs to him. I will cite the recent firing of Wynter Kabimba as a case in point.

Kambwili can’t help being concerned that the old man’s ax could equally fall on him anytime. In a truly democratically constituted party, such happenings would have been unthinkable. In such parties, leadership is able to exchange hands freely, though not without animosity. Democracy within a particular party, should therefore be the cure to the concerns you have raised.

    • @Patriot Abroad: The hard reality is that true leaders worldwide are never an easy find. Democracy, by its nature affords the citizens of a particular country to compare and contrast several different individuals so that they are able to make intelligent decisions when voting. It ensures the survival of the fittest, as the unfit, if so perceived for whatever reason, get thrown by the wayside.

In Zambia, such a democratic process has not been possible. In most cases the party leader retains the prerogative to choose whom he/she wants to take-over from him. For that reason Chiluba chose Mwanawasa, Mazoka, though dead, chose Hakainde Hichilema, Mwanawasa chose Rupiah Banda and now Sata, the mantle holder, has his say. This is not democracy in the true sense of the word.

    • @Mei Matungu

Zambia is capable of true democracy if the citizens will it. I think tribal issues and the long period of recession/depression has caused Zambians to lose hope in changing our government. Zambia has been thrown a new beginning and we can/should demand for a proper democracy. President Sata can have all the parties he wants, but we the Zambian people ultimately chose who is President. PF needs to reshape itself so every member understands their right to ‘challenge’ democratically.

  24. Kambwili is a bonafied member of PF. Many of those claiming true membership of PF today were not there in 2001. Sata and Scott formed the party. Kambwili is a witness of the formation. So he is a founder member. Kambwili contested 2001 general election on the infant PF ticket vying for Roan parliamentary seat, Yamfwa Mukanga contested Kamuchanga parliamentary seat, Patrick Musonda contested Lupososhi parliamentary seat, PF contested more that 50 parliamentary seats across the country, Sata contested as republican president. Of all those who contested for PF in 2001, only Patrick Musonda of Lupososhi constituency in Luwingu district scooped the seat. Kambwili has been a faithful PF member since 2001. Kambwili can not itch for presidency while the incumbent is there. The Post story is hollow

  25. Quote, ‘Mr Kambwili said he also has a job as Minister of Sports and Youth which he said he has been executing exceptionally well.’

Mr Kambwili, speaks well for himself. I wonder how the voting public assess his penchant for fighting the Post and Kabimba. These protestations are tiresome! What example are you to Youths. Quarrelling, celebrating the downfall of your colleagues!

  26. President Sata should for once show leadership on this issue. PF minister should concentrate on discharging their duties to the fullest. If he does not deal with people positioning themselves, he will end-up being seen as a tribal president. This is because the guys who are positioning themselves are his tribe mates. These are the same people who accused Kabimba of scheming for presidency.

  27. This is what happens when you appoint a Jereboy a minister , Kambwili was ichinyamunyamu before becoming MP . Now look at what is going on in the pf party . if the president wants to know more about Kambwili he should ask people of luanshya he will know a lot about him . Kmbwilli and chanda have are nicknamed THE MAILONI BROTHERS , why , cos of wrong things they have done to Luanshya people .Kambwili is the most corrupt Minister i hove ever come across. he is not found in his office is always busy building houses ,shops ,contracts and threatening.people , What an animal to be a minister

  28. Is this the same Kambwili who was dealing in copper wires & scrap metal which caused a lot of power disruptions in luanshya?

  29. Kambwili, i am anxiously waiting for your dismisal. i will be the happiest man on earth. i wlil even buy air space on znbc to convey my gratitude to Mr. Sata once ure fired.
Your irritate me. I hate you chimudala you copper criminal. i can rape your wife in your presence.so, if you think you are popular, try and stand as president. That is the day i will pupu in front of you chigalu iwe. mwana wa imbwa

  30. It’s funny how things change so fast in politics. Fred Mmembe got you guys in power, then he was very useful. Now he is the most useless man you’ve ever met. NEXT question: Are we Zambians useful to you (Mr. Kambwili) for paying tax or are we the most useless you have ever met?
