Cameroon has beaten Zambia to the rights to host the 2019 Africa Cup.
It will be the first time Cameroon will host the tournament since 1972.
“We are delighted to announce that the AFCON 2019 will be hosted by Cameroon,” CAF announced on Twitter.
Meanwhile, CAF has also announced hosts of the 2021 and 2023 Africa Cup of Nations that will be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea respectively.

we all knew that we were going to lose to the west africans. CAF name should be changed to confederation of West African Football (CWAF). these mostly french speaking CAF people always rule in their favour. they have shown you, AFCOn from 2019 will be in west africa. How can a logically thinking organisation have such a setup. they should have it revolving amongst the different regions of africa and the respective regions should also have sub committees which try to revolve the chances amongst themselves. this is not rocket science ba kapuli imwe!!! there is a lot of bias in caf, remember what they did to umwaice wesu is it kalaba or sunzu for local africa footballer of the year, they just had to swing it in favour of the west african. This is corruption of the highest order and insanity. West africa has hosted this tournament too many times. The region is currently infested with Ebola and dealing with security issues and political instability. Burkina faso 98, Nigeria 2000, Mali 2002, Ghana/ nigeria 2008, Gabon equatorial guinea 2012. This region has hosted too many afcons. Cameroon and Ivory coast have already hosted afcon. Ivory coast hosted in 1992 this is totally unfair. Corrupt Hayatou has done it again what a bully.

I have analysed this CAF the best nation to host the afcon was algeria and they should have been given a year from 2019 -2023. The reason why they have not been given is due to the fact that a cameroon football player died there. It is Hayatou’s way of punishing them. Zambia should have been given 2023 at the very least but the corrupt west africans want to eat the money and all the contracts that come with the right of hosting afcon. Ivory coast and Guinea are poor countries infested with Ebola there is nothing special about them. Cameroon was simply given as a gift from hayatou. All this was corruption.
Sorry mate Ivory Coast is not poor and also not affected by Ebola you cannot compare Abidjan with Lusaka or any other city in Zambia.Ivory Coast is one of the most developed countries in West Africa and Africa in general.

Levy Stadium can not fund itself …so what happens after the tournament who pays for these things, its a waste of funds. Look at what happened when Zambia won the AFCON….the funds were looted and football development should have improved at grassroots but everything is gone down.

Even the stadium started by former Marc Foe before dying, the government promised to complete it, but nothing has been done about it. Former lion still, Etame Mayer, gave the then minister of sport some huge amount to build a stadium, but guess what? He was insulted over his money as “not being a Cameroonian even”.

Zambians you are good at complaining ….you only have two world-class stadia and have no training facilities by training facilities I dont mean training on the stadium pitch. A training football facility is a pitch with catering, physio and gym facilities.

Let us be serious here AFCON winners have 4 cities to host the event, with proper stadiums. In Zed we had 2 stadiums and 2 cities i.e. Lusaka and Ndola. Good and fine but are we really *****s we could not think and see that AFCON requires 4 cities to host the event? Apparently they Zambian bidders were showcasing the Livingstone stadium which was going to have a backdrop of the Victoria falls….like they South African did with their stadium overlooking the mountains at the World Cup but one thing we forget is some of those stadia in RSA were Rugby stadia.
CAF are Africans they know that in Africa plans on paper don’t always come to fruition especially when the funding is questionable.

Zambia insisted on hosting only the 2019 afcon, so how did you expect her to win the 2021 or even the 2023 bids and not Guinea. The Guineans were wiser to have bided for both afcons (this was to show that they were actually eager to host an afcon), since they already knew that their chances were slim to win the 2019 bid, with such outstanding contenders. Zambia was just simply being overzealous for nothing! So stop lamenting over your own mistakes, and as a reminder Issa Hayato is not the sole decision maker in CAF, the winners were democratically voted by all the executives of which Issa is just one.
