National Restoration Party (NAREP) president Elias Chipimo has advised opposition political parties to offer constructive criticism to the government.

Mr. Chipimo said some opposition political party leaders were in the habit of criticizing government even when it has done a commendable job.

He said this in Lusaka today when he featured on Komboni Radio programme dubbed “Is Zambian politics growing or not?”

Mr. Chipimo said he does not object to the trend of criticising government when it makes wrong political decisions because such were not in the interest of the Zambian people.

He added that the work of the opposition was to provide checks and balances to the government on behalf of the citizens.

And Mr. Chipimo has also condemned political parties campaigning on tribal lines.

He said people of Zambia were one and as such, politicians should promote unity among citizens.

He stated that peace and love should be one thing which should pre-occupy the minds of the Zambian people.

  1. Now watch how the down and down family will tear chipimo into pieces for these sentiments, they will call him all sorts of names including that he is a pf cadre.

    • i gud abt him is that he think beyond his tribe
this is how it should be.
were it is right give credit and were it is wrong critize
now will it b right for any nornal person to say PF has completely failed in their 3 yrs

    • Of course chipimo is a PF cadre. Only idoits can not see that. He gets part of his funding from the PF. Already there are talks for NAREP to form a PACT with PF come 2016. But unfortunately, NAREP has not yet graduated from being a kantemba, Ine neka party just like many parties in Zambia.

If I was to form a party in Zambia today , it would gain momentum at pace unseen before and recruit many members within a short period of of time.

To be honest, I have more respect for Fr Bwalya ‘s Better for Zambia party than NAREP. This is next big party in Zambia. When PF is out Fr Bwalya ‘s party will be second only to UPND

      Viva UPND and HH.

    • So chipimo expects us in UPND to thank and commend the PF for deceiving the farmers that they will get paid exactly two weeks after handing over their maize to PF’s FRA, for vote buying, practising selective justice, promoting Bembanisation of all top government jobs,Nepotism, and corruption?

Well I understand, why Chipimo thinks that HH ‘s condemnation of the PF regarding FRA and PF ‘s lies to farmers is not constructive criticism because he has no clue about farming just like the whole PF cohort. More over he has no worry about Bembanisation, because he is Bemba and can get a top government job under PF-CNB any time he wishes.

For the cabinet alone I can understand if most Bembas are ministers but the 10 appointed MPs and some heads of parastals should have come from other…

    • Loyd or Wanyele,as expected you are the first one to respond.Well,i suggest that you start familiarizing yourself with the kantemba party phrase coz thats exactly what down and down will become after another huge lose in 2016

  2. PF does not need constructive criticism. They instead need brutal criticism for them take in the message clearly ,because of the lies they continue to tell the people. A brutal regime requires brutal measures to counter its actions.

Sata never criticised the government of the day constructively. He was always very brutal in his criticisms.

NAREP ‘s rhetoric is always in favour of PF some how, because its just an extension of the PF. NAREP is partly funded by PF so no surprise when they always remain neutral when criticising PF.

We in UPND will continue to hit the PF hard where it hurts the most because of its rampant, cronyism, corruption, lies, selective justice and more especially its Bemba only cabinet and foreign service.

PF is tribal mafia grouping even Mmembe now…

  3. That is timely caution. Unfortunately I observe the opposition has taken the word ‘oppose’ in its literal sense and do not even offer up solidarity on even the commonest of matters. By now we would have come to terms with the state of our leadership if we were not just bent on the task of ‘opposition’…

  4. Ati lawyer!Ati president Chipimo -just another Imposter like Ati Dr. Cosmo Mumba But Bembas you really surprise me with your security dilemma! Mr Historian Chipimo what has entered into your head or another opportunist after seing a pending leadership vacuum in PF! Look at your analysis on mining taxes- You forgot with your poor articulated research on this issue that this PF was voted in to correct the inimmicle social-economic policies and prudent maximisation of mineral taxes which was one of their many lies which saw them getting a of votes from poor gullibles henceforth in power.Next time you open your sintiking sycomphanting mouth you should not use your poor historical social-economic view.Just abandon you kantemba and join the Bemba clique hegemon openly at once!Njala yakuponona…

  5. Mr Chipimo,Mpombo,Danipule and Mmembe have lost their salt in the political equation of zambia more especially among the intellectuals for exhibiting primitive and backward politics of old age. They are synonymus to dentaless Munkombwe,Wina and Vj not forgeting. Madyenkuku.let them take a leaf from realman of zambia Kavindele I really like this principled oldman! Its high time Zambians Started taking actions over feck political or nonsensical views coming from sycomphants in support of the ruling party!

  6. Ba Elias boss namulanda bakamba…thats what we need mature well balanced statements, “constructive criticism” coming from people in opposition like you..not diarrhea of the mouth from the likes of halenya halenya. Fact!

  7. “Mr. Chipimo has also condemned political parties campaigning on tribal lines”. Start with the PF which tribal through and through. I wonder why these guys from the north including Nevers Mumba don’t see the unprecedented tribal imbalance in the PF and only see it in fellow opposition parties.
