Today’s Message: Be a Prisoner of Hope

bible

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.”
(Zechariah 9:12, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

When things get difficult, it’s easy to want to give up. It’s easy to get down and discouraged. But, that’s not God’s plan for us. God wants us to be so full of hope, so full of expectancy that we just can’t help believing for the best. He wants us to be prisoners of hope!

When you’re a prisoner of something, it’s like you’re chained to it. In other words, you can’t get away from it.

I know people that are prisoners of fear, prisoners of worry, prisoners of doubt. You’ve heard them. “Nothing good ever happens to me.” “It’s never going to change. It’s just been too long.” No, you’re chained to the wrong thing.

You need to break those chains and become a prisoner of hope. That means that no matter how long it’s taking, no matter how impossible it looks, our attitude should be, “I just can’t help it. I know it’s going to work out. I know I’m going to overcome. It may be taking a long time, but I know this too shall pass. It may be difficult, but I know that means I’m closer to my victory because I am a prisoner of hope!”

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, today I choose to be a prisoner of hope. I choose to wrap myself in hope and attach myself to it! Thank You for everything You are doing in and through me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. I really thank God for all the things he has done in my life and I know there is still more to come. Today’s massage has moved my Christian faith to another level. Here I am proudly saying, “have chosen to be a prisoner of hope”

  2. From today onwards i have become the prisoner of hope, everything good will be happening to me, change is evident and it is going to happen very soon,
    in Jesus’ name amen.

  3. Brilliant message. Hope builds Nations. It builds strength of one’s character and good attitude . Hope makes one cross seas and oceans in search for a better life.

    • @ Jay Jay
Your observation although right is out of context in relation to the subject at hand and comment @ Cactus. Please be objective at times. Do not always oppose for the sake of it. It is a sign of some mental defect. Try to be objective and put your vast and valuable knowledge not to discourage others but to build confidence in other people. You will be a Mandela, a Mahatma Gandhi, a Martin Luther King J., or a Kwame Khruma. Aim to inspire and build, not to demoralise, the little hope that is in people.

  4. I cannot agree more but this hope should be backed with action and determination in whatever we are doing. Thanks be to God for the message.

    • Shallow thinking and reasoning. What about Dangote who is educated and among the top richest in the world who believes in God? In fact the majority of educated and rich people believe in God. Carlos Slim, the second richest in the world, is a christian. David Green who owns 520 superstores in 42 states is a believer. There are many others. My guess is that you must be and frustrated.
