“The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.”
(Proverbs 20:5, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

You are equipped with everything you need to fulfill your passion and purpose in this life! Everything you need is on the inside of you — like deep waters. You draw those deep things out when you stay open and humble before the Lord. You draw those things out when you are submitted to His Word. That’s what makes you a person of understanding. Proverbs also tells us that a person of understanding delights in wisdom. A person of understanding is even-tempered. A person of understanding is not easily led astray and maintains peace and order. (Prov. 10:23; 15:21; 17:27; 28:2)

Don’t just live on the surface of life today. Draw from the resources that God has placed on the inside of you. As you keep your heart open by obeying the Word of God, His purposes will become clearer; His provision will be more clearly seen. His direction for you will unfold so you can move forward confidently in the direction of your dreams!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for equipping me with everything I need to be successful in life. I choose to humbly submit to You and obey Your Word so that I can be a person of understanding. Thank You for revealing Your plans and purposes for me as go down into the deep waters in Jesus’ name. Amen.

    • If Jesus “lands” in Italy, The Pope will have him thrown in prison for life. When Jesus died, he left his church to whomever would control it, in this case, the Vatican. Do you think the Pope would ever accept UNEMPLOYMENT CHECKS in lieu of being the biggest and most powerful man on earth?? NOT. If the Pope doesn’t do the job, the CIA will immediately have Jesus shipped to Guantanamo Bay and put into permanent detention as a, “Middle Eastern revolutionary,” guilty of teaching concepts directly contrary to “The American Way.” Barring that, if the American Medical Association gets their way, he’ll immediately be put on Prosac and proclaimed to suffer from “delusions of grandeur” while they put him under a glass slide for study at the nearest lunatic asylum. And who knows…

    • Education is a good way to free yourself of superstitious nonsense. Sign up for a few college classes (any topic that interests you, except religion) and re-learn how to think for yourself. At the very least, you will be associating with younger people who are cultivating their intellect, rather than with old fogies who pretend willful ignorance is a virtue.

  3. JESUS ISN’T COMING BACK… PERIOD. “The Rapture”? Nonsense. The term, “rapture” isn’t even found in the Bible! It’s a modern Christian belief, born of human superstition and myth. Jesus wasn’t a politician, nor some sadistic Supreme Court judge. He was a poor, simple, humble man who spoke his truth as best he could. His mission was NOT to “rule over” anyone or to “judge” anyone. When the ancient Hebrews thought he was going to PHYSICALLY save them from the oppression of the Romans, they were wrong. In his own words, “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.” Jesus was never on earth to judge anyone, and even warned against the practice in his commandment: “Judge ye not, lest ye be judged.” Yet misguided…

  4. I have noticed that most religious denominations are heavily involved in brainwashing and in some cases mass hypnosis. The bible is clear that brainwashing aka manipulation is witchcraft and for that reason alone i will not have any part with a belief system that forcibly imposes its will onto other people. For that very reason i left Christianity and became an atheist.

  5. If you do some research, you’ll find that the word “hell” (used by many) actually refers to the grave, the place to where we are all going after death. Why should we fear the grave when the Bible itself teaches that when you die you simply cease to exist and you don’t feel and you can’t walk, talk or think? (Ecclesiastes 9:5,10) It doesn’t make sense. It’s just a scare tactic, in many cases for making money.

    • I feel pity for you. A ruffian is a man who behaves violently and is involved in crime. Your pen name tells it all. Certainly you would not like to identify yourself with the word of God which condemns what is appealing to you. Your rejection of the Word of God is a psychological problem.       If you are in the know…why don’t you explain to your brother/sister and enlighten us? Prayers to your “Jesus” will not help anybody but the creators of the scripture…so we are waiting for an explanation to us who are ignorant.

  8. Take control of our own lives, or any accountability for our actions, because we’re waiting on a man who hasn’t come yet and we aren’t even sure if he existed. It’s really quite sad

  9. When I went to church I listened and questioned too much. I couldn’t get answers so I let it go. It’s sad that our people pour so much time and money into church and get nothing but a, “God will fix it in due time.” The modern revival church teaches fear, helplessness and complacency.

  10. People you do not need a book called the bible to tell you what is right or wrong…this book is contradictory and perpetuate utter lies…. I cringe every time I see black people on public transport carrying this book under their armpits. This is one of the most anti african, anti women or sexists book there is….it does not even recognise you as a people. We are so committed to attend “church” every Sunday in our best clothes abd shoes to praise a religion you do not fully understand its origins….imagine if we used the selfsame time every Sunday to teach our kids and ourselves about Afrikan Consciousness, awareness and community building the very things the bible will never teach how great as a nation we would be.

      As a matter of fact the Bible is the word of truth. It was written under God’s inspiration and contains a verifiable historical record of God’s dealings with mankind. It’s theme is the same from Genesis to Revelation, that is , the restoration of paradise that Adam lost. Of course false Christians have twisted, distorted and misinterpreted the scriptures to the extent many people have lost faith in the book. Repugnant teachings like God burns sinners in a hot place for eternity, man has an everlasting soul that escapes death and that God is comprised of three entities in one are lies propagated by these false Christians, the agents of God’s enemy, Satan.

    • @Jay Jay: So what if he buys a house worthy $10 million? God did not create man to be poor and wallow in poverty perpetually. Otherwise He would not have given man the intelligence and capacity to be creative and inventive. God created man in His own image to continue with the work of creation that He had started. A human being is different from other creatures that do not have development capacity like man.
      If indeed you do not believe in the Bible why do you then spend time and energy on perusing its content? To me you are just a frustrated and jealousy person in need of mental therapy.

    • @Wantanshi you need to study History. It could open up your mind. Noone ever sat down to write something called a Bible so stop peddling the lie that it was a book inspired by God. There was no Bible in Moses’s time even up to Jesus’s time. Someone did sit down to write the Koran Yes. From that the Christians got inspired to compile (not to write) a holy book that they could refer to in the same way as the Moslems were doing at the time. That was why they sat to choose what scriptures would be included and excluded. Go check this in your history. The fact that some people we able to write down their history doesn’t mean you must worship them

      Yes I read and refer to the book as its just an ordinary book to me, no more important than the oxford dictionary….I read the bible so as I know what I’m talking about when I engage someone in a debate, especially with those fanatical born again types.

    • you poor soul,do you even know what Amen really is or means?Man created God in his own image,fashion and liking.This deity man created was supposed to be the epitome of that which man hoped for in most of the people activity.The deity is meant to have human like traits in some cases so that man can relate to him/her and at the same time this deity is to be a supernatural being so as to provide hope of justice, love,companionship,peace,grandeur for many in times when they suffer injustice, feel unloved,lonely,troubled or small respectively.So the question to you my alkebulanian(a.k.a african) brothers and sisters,if you feel the need to believe in a deity,why not take after one which was at least created by your ancestors.Such a deity will cater for your specific needs.Local is laka!!

  11. Iyo kwena paliba ama hypothesis iyengi against Christianity. Most of these hypotheses are made by young men and women who are in the process of advancing their academic knowledge. I understand that because that is how I was when I was studying for my first degree. After a lot of post graduate studies in both biological and social sciences, I have realized that there are a lot of things that could not happen if God is not there. I pray that others reach that point in their lives one day. May the almighty God richly bless all critics of Christianity.

    • @observer – MO of people who find them selves lacking in some way is to prosper statements that show they are educated than most. With this,it is hoped they can send an intimidation of some sort that will cause the first person to whom they offer the challenge a feeling of “wait, a minute, maybe he is right, how does he know am doing my first degree?, perhaps am wrong about my thoughts with regards to Christianity, i should just keep on with my faith”. Question to you mr.observer is – why christianity,why not a spiritual faith of our own people. why did you have to import even religion? you imported your language, the education you so much boast about,your clothes, your mannerisms, your system of governance,economics and am sure you have even imported a white wife or something.its sad!

    • I totally agree with you. Others are adult who have been defeated by challenges of life and blame it on God. You will find these characters in the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:1-9 and 18-23.

Even your bible on this one teaches the same principle, for if people didnt believe in God and jesus, why did he too have to come on earth to save them? he could just have left them in their denial and enjoyed the milk and honey in heaven. but he still came down, why didnt you advise him to just stay where he was if he didnt agree with the so called sinful people on earth. He could have gone on to preach the good news to the angels just there in heaven where they believe and agree with him.

  13. The choice is between trusting God and surrendering oneself to godmen. It is an epochal imperative therefore that cultic con men and bogus godmen mushroom and commandeer hysterically zealous following in such an age. This does not prove the greatness of individual con men or the worth of teachings they mouth. It proves the sickness of the age in which we live.
