Vice President Guy Scott said he is happy with the pre golden jubilee rehearsals currently being displayed ahead of Zambia’s 50 years of independence.

Dr Scott said this last night when previewing the final rehearsals of the Golden Jubilee celebrations at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

The Vice President who was accompanied by his wife Charlotte commended the instructors for the job well done.

The Zambia defence force team and pupils drawn from various schools across the country conducted several drills in readiness of the golden jubilee celebrations.

Dr Scott expressed hope that the performances will be more pleasing on the eve and the actual day of Zambia’s independence commemoration.

Present during the final rehearsal were Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska, Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga, Youth and Sports Deputy Minister Christopher Mulenga, Local Government and Housing Deputy Minister Nickolas Banda and other senior government officials.

And Zambia @ 50 Chairperson Mulenga Kapwepwe said the performances were a half-dressed rehearsal and that the full performance will be presented on the eve of Independence Day.

Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Yang Youming was also delighted with the presentation.

He said the mass display will be more appealing on the actual day as the participants will be dressed in the appropriate attire.

  1. Will the deadwood patient in State House manage to speak on the 24/10/2014 or will need lamentably fail like he did on 19/09/2014!

    • @JayJay,

He might just manage to stay there for 20 minutes at most. PF imported extra doctors to treat him so he can at least show up for a few minutes.

May be this is day he was waiting for before he departs for another world.

Apparently his condition is getting worse.

    • @jay jay. PLEASE, STOP YOUR LACK OF HUMAN FEELING DUE TO YOUR LACK OF IT DURING YOUR UPBRINGING. YOU ARE CREATING THE IMPRESSION THAT ALL ZAMBIANS ARE DEVILS LIKE YOURSELF. ZAMBIANS ARE LOVING AND HAPPY PEOPLE. IF YOU WERE BROUGHT UP BY YOUR SINGLE PROSTITUTE MUM- IT IS NOT THE REST OF ZAMBIA BROUGHT UP IN YOUR UNFORTUNATE CIRCUMSTANCE. YOU CAN STILL IMPROVE YOUR HUMAN FACE MY BROTHER. AS ZAMBIANS WE ALWAYS HAVE SYMPATHY WITH THOSE IN SICKNESS AND BEREAVED. TROUBLE IS YOU ARE GIVING WRONG IMPRESSION TO THE WORLD ABOUT PEACE-LOVING ZAMBIANS. ULIMWANA LYESHILU

    • bo Jay Jay can you be positive for once all your comments are highly retrogressive, get a life…leave the president alone.Concentrate on salling your party manifesto nichani kansi ?

    • kwena mulampapusha, jay Jay is talking about the elephant in the room, which most of us do not want to address.as far as most of us are concerned, the president is healthy even after hearing and seeing him during the opening of parliament. We still allow the PF govt to tell us that the man has never been sick since he became president later on,the past 4-5 months.Kapeya tells us that he will most assuredly meet Perez which has never happened and we just go on.i have only asked one thing from the PF govt and supporters,at-least have the decency to admit that the man was or is sick and that he is recovering.but up to now,no one,not even Kaseba can admit.why does this govt take us for foo.ls? Maybe we are, and that’s why they get away with it.When Jay Jay talks about it, you condemn him

    • Amazing Zambians excited to be taken advantage of. They conveniently forget had positions been reversed with Sata in opposition, the incumbent president would not have survived Sata’s barrage of insults and mockery. Lets learn not to sympathize with the devil. That man in state house is chewing tax payers money for doing zero.

    • Jay Jay is a bitter chap. His mum lied to him that Sata is his unknown father. Reason why he has taken it personal on the old man.

  2. Sata will be there the whole time. Not only will he deliver the speech with honour, diginity and PIZAZZ, but also honour some great zambian men and women who have contributed imensely to the livelyhood of this great nation. As for you, you will continue to choke with bitterness, envy and jealousy. Am sure you your bitterness will even choke you to death after the president delivers masterfully his speech on the day.

You are such a bitter person. Is there anything positive in your life..even just your very existance?

  3. It looks like a better caption for picture 1 may have been “Vice President Dr. Guy Scott enjoying a little Coke with his brandy.”

  4. WHAT IS THIS PHRASE, “CHINESE TO ZAMBIA”, ON ANNOTATIONS OF IMAGES? CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT IT MEANS, PLEASE? IS IT A NEW CHINESE AGREEMENT WITH ZAMBIA OR WHAT?

    • I JUST HOPE ALL THESE THINGS ARE DOCUMENTED ON VIDEO AND HARD COPY FOR ANYONE TO REFERENCE IN FUTURE. ZAMBIA IS ONE OF FEW IF NOT ONLY COUNTRY THAT DOES NOT DOCUMENT ITS OCCURRENCES/HISTORY. IT’S A SHAME HOW ONE CAN NEVER FIND ALMOST ANYTHING ON ZAMBIA AND WE HAVE THE MINISTRY OF INFORMATION WHO ARE EVEN PROTESTING FOR FROZEN SALARY INCREMENT FOR DOING NOTHING. SERIOUS NATIONS CAN DOCUMENT ALL THESE FROM START TO FINISH AND EVEN COMPILE A BOOK/VIDEO OF PICTURES/NARRATIONS FOR SALE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. BUT, ITS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ZAMBIA TO SEE A BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY. I MEAN MANY THING CAN BE MADE/PRINTED- COLORFUL SOUVENIRS.

    • @ Peter

What it means is Chinese to Zambia! After 50 years of independence, say welcome your NEW COLONIAL MASTERS!

      Chinese to Zambia!

  5. congratulations to the organisers,we as patriotic zambians wish you well..agoni is hoping that your enemy fails yet he scores.Jay Jay independence celebrations are meant for all well meaning zambians, relax BP will kill you….

  6. I would like to take this time to talk about my diarrhea. I had the worst diarrhea of my life a few months ago after eating at a restaurant. I got sick while I was on my way home and it hit very suddenly. The closest toilet was in a store so I waddled as fast as I could to get to the bathroom before a river of brown erupted from my butt. Alas I discovered that the only bathroom in the store was on the second floor, so after futilely searching I had to make for the escalator. I could feel the butt-volcano about to erupt, I was frantic. I thought OK, almost there, I can make it, and then I learned that the bathroom was all the way on the far side of the store from the escalator!

This was bad, really bad. I had my sphincter clenched as tight as I could but I knew I had only seconds left…

  7. IT Doesnt look pleasing, the performers are NOT well cordinating. It will be embarrassing on FRIDAY. The worst performers are soldiers , always getting lost in mass movemements

  8. as Zamb?ans we should reflect that at 50 we can only stage such a funct??n w?th Ch?nese gu?dance and bu?ld roads w?th the?r gu?dance as well. A CEO at Mopan? can order us not to use our own languages at place of work.
Where ?s our sense of pr?de? What a legacy? That CEO has ?nsulted us and he ?s st?ll ?n Zamb?a and there ?s no apology from Glencore h?s employers.

    • What’s the whinning about? If you’re not happy working for this white man, work for yourself then!! Make your own money, be your own boss

  9. @JAY JAY:

Jay Jay you really are a sick person either mentally or suffering from one of these incurable diseases and you want to seek the reason to die (Ulefwaya ukwakufwila). For once, can you (Jay Jay) be humane please. If you still have your grand parents, your parents and all your sisters and brothers then lucky you. Please do not experience either sickness or death in your family because that is when you will feel it and possibly that is when you will stop talking the way you are now. Good health for you and yours!

  10. i doubt if memorabilia and clothing will be ready for this event. cabinet only had tender enquiries for buying things this past week . talk about planning.

  11. Did you guys not hear?
Chinese to Zambia, is the Biblical equivalent to JOHN THE BAPTIST!
It means…CHINESE ARE COMING TO TAKE OVER ZAMBIA
    Cheers

  12. I love the design of the 50. Congratulations peaceful people of Zambeziland!
The only challenge is that we need not think of 50 years of independence from British colonialism rather look at how we are growing economically socially and spiritually.

LT, this is an online publication. Can you pleas correct this line…
Chinese to Zambia, Chinese to Zambia, Chinese to Zambia wakwisa?

  13. Jay jay, humanity and the other very bitter satanists, you are just jealous that God the Father Almighty set this year of jubilee when the PF Govt was in power. It feels good, I say. It will go down in our history books…………….

Bitterness will not take you anywhere.
