Share

Roan United were on Sunday relegated from the FAZ Super League after succumbing to a 1-0 loss at the hands of struggling Indeni in a delayed Week 27 match at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

This result left Roan stuck at the bottom of the table with 17 points from 27 games as Indeni moved up from 15th to 14th place on the table with 27 points.

Midfielder Norman Munthali scored the lone goal in this game where birds outnumbered spectators at Arthur Davies Stadium.

Munthali headed in Djunese Kanda corner 15 minutes before the end of the game.

Roan were the first ones to shot on target through Joseph Kamalondo who saw his shot stopped by keeper Humphrey Mwenya after 10 minutes.

Sixteen minutes later, Fordson Kabole’s Roan were unfortunate to have had Perry Sinkala’s goal ruled out for offside by referee Francis Lombe.

Indeni wasted a chance to lead on 38 minutes when Kanda directed his close range shot at keeper Stephen Kabwe.
Meanwhile, this is the second time Roan are being demoted.
