Below is the full speech

REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA

ADDRESS
TO THE NATION
BY
HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT OF THE
REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA,
MR. MICHAEL CHILUFYA SATA
ON
ZAMBIA’S 50TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVESARY AND THE GOLDEN JUBILEE

24TH OCTOBER, 2014.

COUNTRYMEN AND WOMEN,

ALLOW ME, ON BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA TO GIVE THANKS TO THE ALMIGHTY GOD ON OUR COUNTRY’S FIFTIETH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY.

ON THIS DAY AND AT THIS TIME LAST YEAR, I LAUNCHED THE YEAR LONG COMMEMORATION OF THIS ANNIVERSARY UNDER THE THEME: ‘COMMEMORATING GOD’S FAVOUR OF ZAMBIA’S 50 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE FOR CONTINUED PEACE, UNITY, DEMOCRACY, PATRIOTISM AND PROSPERITY’.

WE THANK GOD FOR HIS FAVOUR IN SUSTAINING OUR INDEPENDENCE FOR HALF A CENTURY AND ENABLING US TO CELEBRATE THIS HISTORIC OCCASION.

I EXPRESS MY SINCERE AND WARMEST GRATITUDE TO THE CITIZENS OF THIS GREAT NATION FOR COMMEMORATING THIS HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT WITH DIGNITY, JOY, PEACE AND UNITY. I AM ALSO GRATEFUL FOR THE MESSAGES OF GOODWILL AND SOLIDARITY FROM HEADS OF STATE AND GOVERNMENT, HEADS OF INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS AND OTHER WELL WISHERS.
THESE MESSAGES REAFFIRM ZAMBIA AS A MEMBER OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY WITH A WIDE CIRCLE OF FRIENDS.

COUNTRYMEN AND WOMEN,

ON THIS MOMENTOUS OCCASION, I PAY SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO OUR FOUNDING FATHERS AND MOTHERS, THE GALLANT FREEDOM FIGHTERS, WHO FOUGHT FOR OUR INDEPENDENCE, SOME OF WHOM HAVE SINCE DEPARTED.

OUR FREEDOM FIGHTERS, DRIVEN BY PATRIOTISM, LOYALTY AND LOVE, PUT ASIDE THE INSTINCT FOR SELF-PRESERVATION AND RISKED THEIR LIVES AND THOSE OF THEIR FAMILIES.

TODAY, WE CELEBRATE THIS DAY IN HISTORY WHEN OUR FORE FATHERS EMERGED VICTORIOUS 50 YEARS AGO. THEIR TIRELESS AND HEROIC SACRIFICES HAVE MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO BE HERE TODAY.

COUNTRYMEN AND WOMEN,

WHEN WE LOOK BACK, WE ARE PROUD OF OUR ACHIEVEMENTS AS A NATION. AT INDEPENDENCE, WE CREATED A NEW COUNTRY EAGER TO RULE ITSELF BUT CHALLENGED IN SEVERAL RESPECTS BY SUCH CONSTRAINTS AS POOR HUMAN CAPITAL ATTAINMENTS INHERITED FROM COLONIALISM. WE, HOWEVER, MET THE CHALLENGES OF NATION-BUILDING WITH SINGLE MINDED DETERMINATION AND ENTHUSIASM.

ALTHOUGH WE STILL HAVE SOME CHALLENGES TO OVERCOME IN OUR QUEST TO DELIVER HIGHER LEVELS OF PROSPERITY, WE ARE DETERMINED TO FACE THE FUTURE WITH HEIGHTENED ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM TO CONSOLIDATE OUR POLITICAL, ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL PROGRESS.

UNDER THE NATIONAL MOTTO: ‘ONE ZAMBIA, ONE NATION’, WE HAVE ENJOYED UNITY, PEACE AND STABILITY DESPITE OUR ETHNIC DIVERSITY. WE MUST THEREFORE CONTINUE TO WORK TOGETHER AS A UNITED PEOPLE, FOR NATIONAL BUILDING.

SINCE INDEPENDENCE, THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE HAS CONTINUED TO BE THE BASIS OF AUTHORITY OF THE GOVERNMENT. OUR SUCCESS IN THIS ENDEAVOUR IS DEMONSTRATED BY THE COUNTRY HAVING HAD FIVE PRESIDENTS FROM THREE POLITICAL PARTIES THROUGH PEACEFUL TRANSFER OF POWER AFTER DEMOCRATIC ELECTIONS.

COUNTRYMEN AND WOMEN,

AS WE MOVE BEYOND THE GOLDEN JUBILEE, OUR PRIMARY TASK AND THAT OF FUTURE GENERATIONS IS THE MODERNISATION AND TRANSFORMATION OF OUR COUNTRY THROUGH SUSTAINED RAPID ECONOMIC GROWTH.

WE HAVE THE DUTY TO UPHOLD DEMOCRACY THROUGH GOOD GOVERNANCE, TRANSPARENCY, ACCOUNTABILITY AND UPHOLDING HUMAN RIGHTS. WE ALSO HAVE A DUTY TO GENERATE WEALTH WHOSE BENEFITS INCLUDE THE DISTRIBUTION OF INCOMES THROUGH EMPLOYMENT AND TAXES TO THE GOVERNMENT.

WE HAVE TO INCREASE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ECONOMIC ACTIVITY AND INVESTMENT IN ORDER TO REDUCE POVERTY.
LET US THEREFORE, MOBILISE IN ONE GREAT COOPERATIVE NATIONAL EFFORT THE ENORMOUS ENERGY OF OUR SOCIETY IN ORDER TO OVERCOME AND ELIMINATE POVERTY.

ON ITS PART, OUR GOVERNMENT WILL CONTINUE TO OPEN THE COUNTRY WIDE TO SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS, AND TO NEW IDEAS AND SKILLS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD IN ORDER TO CREATE A BETTER LIFE FOR ALL, PARTICULARLY THE POOR AND MARGINALISED.

COUNTRYMEN AND WOMEN,

AS I CONCLUDE, LET ME STATE THAT TODAY, ALL OF US BY OUR CELEBRATIONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY, CONFER GLORY AND HOPE, TO TAKE ZAMBIA TO GREATER HEIGHTS.

MAY GOD’S GRACE BE WITH YOU ALL AND HAPPY FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS.

I THANK YOU

    • Normal writing would be difficult to read. Kaili ni primary school level. He went like ‘Iwe mwaice ulembe ifikulu fikulu for easy Reading ine nshaishiba ukubelenga ama small letters’.

    • Speeches intended for oral delivery on a podium are written in caps. Makes it easier for the person reading. This is from cognitive science. Did you just have to loom for a fault?

    • wall,, wall!!!,,, this is not normal writting,, presidential speech in caps???, i have read HH`s speech, Uncle Miyanda`s speech and Edith Nawakwi`s speech, they sound normal and they were written in a human normal way,,,, but this one for Ba Sata awe shuwa,,, i hope this is not maloza before a fin……….

    • @ The Joy. I am not familiar with such reasoning. The majority of speech copies are typed regularly and not capitalized throughout. The only difference between a speech and an essay is that the indentation at the beginning of a paragraph is not needed in a speech. I might be wrong, but it just appeared weird to me.

    • @ The Joy. By the way, concerning your cognitive science argument, you might want to revisit your reading. A quick search on Google reveals that lower-case text is more legible than upper-case text. In fact, it has been proven and experimented a number of times. Woodworth in 1938 reported this first in his book Experimental Psychology. The reason is that with upper-case (capitalized), all words are the same size and as such, more difficult and slower to read. Therefore, your argument on capitalization of public speeches has been effectively debunked and nullified. Do not be blinded by your PF affections that you even decide to change established theories of cognitive science. Please and thank you!

    • @ndobo. Not only caps but also exclamations. Its screaming, shouting… Everything from PF are bazookas.
      Ni selako..

    • @Nostradamus
Ndobo may be your best blogging mate, but it is obvious he’s much wiser than you. He does not tell lies about other people. You on the other hand are such a psychotic you actually believe in the lies you peddle. You create sensational stories about Field Ruwe and his family in your effort to taint his reputation. This week and next, you are left with one challenge. Produce in any form the pictures you have taken of Ruwe as you claim. Post them on LT for all to see. Also, if you have any shred of proof that you know him, show it on this website. Don’t fabricate stories or tell lies. Your lies will catch up with you.

    • @Nostradamus
As Ruwe’s friends in Boston we are appalled by allegations and insinuations made by this blogger. His cheap shots are bent on denting the reputation of our dearest friend. The caliber of our company cannot fathom any one of our pals in Boston and beyond would sink as low as to write such garbage about Ruwe. The Ruwes are happy and ever jolly. As much as we understand some of his articles might cause rage, inventing lies aimed at causing alarm in his family is unacceptable.

    • @Friends of Ruwe , Thank me to make Ruwe so famous you bastards. He is worse than me. See you in Boston on Saturday, no pictures, he has enough on his website, why waste my bits.
now I can see he selling some books. PAY ME!!

    • @Ruwe,
sorry to involve family. I don’t remember me say anything about family. It’s just annoying that he has taken BaSata’s government and illness so personal.
my apology to his family, if he has any, because BaSata has family too.
but its true I know Ba Field, he used to be gentleman.

    • My brother benteke: If all that we did was read one or two sources and take that as sufficient to “debunk” other schools of thought, we would still believe that the earth was flat. At the end of the day, the question is why was *this particular* speech written in caps? The answer, my brother, is simply for easier reading by the Acting Presido when he delivers it. No mysteries about it. To keep talking about it would be to “split hairs” over nothing while real issues go begging. We should be asking whether or not it has relevant content for a document talking about 50 years of nationhood. Happy Jubilee to you!

    • @Ruwe and who
please men,, this is jubilee, i thought guys/guy should write or comment about the jubilee messege,,,, i beg you dont make yourselves/yourself lose the little following you have,,,,
@Nostradamus is a popular lusakatimes 2014 president,,, leave him alone

    • @Nostradamus
Saulosi, Ndobo, Mushota and all the readers. Read Nostradamus’s postings, you can clearly see the lies he tells. He is now shifting the goal post. With regards to family I thought he wrote that Ruwe had been divorced? Now he will not show you the pictures he promised. It is becoming clear that this could be a young man who has chosen to tell lies about Ruwe. If he has a problem or disagrees with his opinion why not debate without character assassination. All this “see you in Boston” is a lie. Come on guys let’s give readers sensible and mature comments.

    • What an empty message! I don’t think that the Will of the people has been to acquiesce to being looted to the core & lied to till their eyeballs pop out!!

    • yes boss’ PF are all a bunch of hypocrites starting with their leader sata-ppopotamus ; they can all lick my black bottom with pride until kingdom come because the tickles make me giggle; i would also like to welcome their gay vp to plunder my bottom with his moist white long sausage; the one and only evans mfula at Evaduco reporting live from lusaka

    • Ladies and Gentlemen, to be honest I read the speech with enthusiasm. Faster and faster by every line I read hoping to get to the end and read the most important message from His excellency. I hoped to read ” FELLOW ZAMBIANS, COUNTRYMEN WOMEN AND CHILDREN I ANNOUCE MY RETIREMENT DUE ILLNESS AND SO THE COUNTRY CAN FORGE AHEAD WITH AN ABLE LEADER. I WILL OFFER MY FULL SUPPORT AND GUIDANCE TO YOUR CHOSEN CANDIDATE ……….blah blah blah.”

I must be dreaming sick. Happy 50th fellow bloggers and Zambians.
      Regards

    • @The Joy. Which ‘other schools of thought’ are you talking about? You made a statement that you attributed to Cognitive Science, however, it turned out to contradict established theories. In your original statement, you appeared to apply your principle to ‘speeches intended for oral delivery on a podium’, and now you are changing your stance to this speech alone and the reader of this speech alone. If you are going to flip-flop in this way, you might as well save face. My comment was based on something weird (upper-case letters throughout) that I noticed. I believe I am free to focus on anything I choose to focus on. I have already analyzed the message of the speech and thought the capitalization was more catchy than the content or lack thereof. Independence wishes reciprocated to you!

    • Imwe naimwe ba @Benkete give it up. Go to the archives and let us know if you will find a single public speech that was written in lowercase. Internet etiquette came long after conventional practice so it does not correlate to anything to you insinuating. Until your new theory has entered the mainstream, public speeches will continue to be written in capital letters. Even broadcaste prompters mostly use caps! Leave @Joy alone!

    • @Speech Master. If you are referring to me as ‘kamushi’ and insinuating that I lack international exposure, please reread your comment and analyze the location of your punctuation marks. That’s rich coming from the ‘Speech Master’ himself. Does Obama have his speeches capitalized? You’re so dumb I don’t even know how you got a U.S Visa. The embassy officials were probably like ‘ci nangwa ici, nangu tuci pele visa baka citamfya pa airport nga cika fika noku fika’ (in English of course).

    • @Denfreeze.. You are the one displaying your ignorance here. The title of the speech and information on who is delivering it are capitalized, the speech itself is not. Go through archives of speeches if you want to, you will not find one that is in all upper-case. These fools probably forgot to deactivate CAPS LOCK after typing the title.
@Kalok.. And which speeches are those that are written in capital letters?

    • @Benteke, here is recommendation from an elementary speech-writing course:

A SPEECH IS MEANT TO BE HEARD, AND NOT READ. THIS IS WHY MOST SPEECHES ARE WRITTEN IN ALL CAPITALS.

“Select a clear, easy-reading typeface in a reasonably large size. The ideal type size is 14-18 points, and most readers prefer a serif style typeface with a relatively large x-height.
•• Most speaking scripts are written in all capital letters because it’s supposed to make it easier to keep your place and find it again if you momentarily lose it.”

HERE AGAIN, I REST MY CASE

    • Oh, so you must be God. Because you can even distinguish one man’s thoughts from another. Quite casually as well! Your prejudices are going too far.

    • I like this speech and will keep it for 7 (yes seven) reasons:

      (1) It credits God for all the favour and blessings that have made us a nation.
      (2) It honours our forefathers for their sacrifices toward making us a free nation.
      (3) It states one focus we are to all work toward.
      (4) It acknowledges the challenges.
      (5) It makes no negative jibes at anyone.
      (6) It is short.
      (7) It is delivered in simple language for anyone to relate to.

Overall the speech is laced with true humility.
I can proudly say I am from Zambia – just like when we won the afcon in 2012!
      Bravo sir!

    • Thankyou George Chella for your regurgitation of PF bull..it.

By now we are used to empty vessels making most noise.

Next time remember to take the Caps Lock off!

And try and give us something worth reading, not this repeated crap that we have heard before!

    • Praying for God’s protection, Psalm 91 and the blood of Jesus on this Jubilee day over Zambia and everyone. May the Lord be honored on this great day over Zambia, may the light of Jesus shine through Zambia to other nations. God bless Zambia on this Great day.

  1. Why not be factual and simply tell us it is Edgar Lungu’s speech and not Sata’s. Does he even know that Independence is tomorrow? I wonder.

  2. What a wasted opportunity. The speech is very predictable. There is no depth in it. Nothing new really same boring stuff. The president (if at all he really exists) should have used this opportunity to make landmark decisions and policy directions. For instance, he could have tabulated the constitution roadmap, liberated barotse and maybe even resigned. What a relief would that be to Zambian people.

  3. Let us stop this hide and seek game and just say the truth thatthat is A/President Lungu’s speech. Let us not play with people’s intelligence like this.

    • ASK HIM WHERE HE IS HE DONT KNOW WHAT INDEPENDENCE MEANS.IN OUR VILLAGE WHEN U SUFFER LIKE THAT THEY WILL NOW GO LOOKING 4 WHAT WILL SHORT CUT KICK U

  4. This is what you call a great speech. Short, precise, informative and straight to the point. This man has a great vision for this country. He is the best thing to happen to Zambia ever since the discovery of copper.

    • @Saulosi,
Your are always dreaming. What is special about this speech that fairs to give us what to look forward to in the next 50yrs. The main is nursing his failing health and has no time for all this rubbish.
Zambians sleep 24/7 otherwise the main would have been shown the door long time ago.

    • @Saulosi my man, do u really, really have to say something, just something about Sata. Whatever it is, sense or not??? really

    • @Saulosi kikikiki at short… Was the reason to write in caps, and letter black-Arial size 18? As if its a last speech?
I have not read speech yet. I am still wondering why he had to climb pa chulu to tell us what he had to say, so scary.

  5. As mentioned elsewhere, a presidential speech is that of HH which highlights achievements by our founding fathers, our current opportunities and shortfalls, and bright future for our posterity. Our responsibility to polish our democracy for a better Zambia.

  6. All True Patriots are behind you Sir.

Thank you for your Leadership. We will celebrate with joy and pride in being Zambian.

    God Bless Zambia
God Bless Our President, may he be restored fully and blessed mightily. We of faith keep him in our prayers and ask God Almighty for His Favour upon Him

  7. eyeeeee……Zambia is in a BIG LEADERSHIP CRISIS……!!!
We r indeed a laughing stock in Africa and the world. Why cant we relieve ths Man called Sata !!!

  8. “….President Sata said the country had a duty to uphold democracy through good governance, transparency, accountability and observance of human rights……….”

The above is what Sata & his PF have violated with impunity. The gullible will as a matter of course swallow the the con speech happily.

  9. Zambia might as well outsource this speech plus its presidency and the entire leadership to call centers in India or Philipines. We have uninspiring leadership that has sight but no vision.

    • What on earth are you babbling about? This does not even make sense! Are you trying to,say you don’t rate call centres in India or the Philippines? If you don’t rate the speech are you being racist and making a put down of Indians and Phillipinos?

I mean some of you people are so,stupid, if your own mother met old,you it,was, time, for dinner, you’d answer with the same stupidity.

If you don’t like Zambian why don’t you leave? Emigrate!
what is wrong with the speech?

  10. @Patriot
    You don’t see anything wrong with the speech. Here are a few things wrong with it;
    1. CAPS–who writes a speech that way
    2. The speech is not inspirational
    3. It is full of lies
    4. Why is it being written now. Shouldn’t this be delivered by the president himself
    5. Poor grammar and sentence construction
    6. No policy directions
    7. It is not signed
    8. It’s not telling us why he has decided to share this monumental speech via email
    9. Paragraphs are not chronological
    10. A speech should start with something catchy and end on a strong note.

DO I NEED TO GO ON?

    • @Choma

Don’t’ be so patronising. I mean the CONTENT of the speech. I mean has anyone proof Sata typed it himself? Or was this LT’s work?

The content is a normal standard text you expect from gov’t writers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the sentiments.

You complain and complain and just nit pick. Ridiculous grow up!

    • @ patriot abroad: agree with you 100%.
@ choma: here’s a point by point cmomentary to your , shall we call it, nit-pick list:

      1 – Mr Sata’s speech Aide
2 – speeches evoke different things in different people. If your not inspired, that’s fine; your personal entitlement
3 – your feeling: when you point out the lies, we may agree or disagree with you
4 – obviously the first part of your questions is dumb (all written speeches are written in advance, not while being delivered!) The second part is equally dumb as the Presido is sick; speech will be read for him. That’s normal.
5 – some truth to your statement: in place of “national building”, I would have said “nation building”. And given the speech 90%+ for grammar and sentence construction, because rest of it is faultless!…

    • 5 – …and I have never scored less than Distinction in my English language tests, all my life.
6 – this is a Jubilee speech ba sah! For celebrations. Not an opening speech to parliament or a budget speech.
7 – Ok, I am sure you already know that is a dumb statement. This is a *speech* not an essay or a memo.
8 – oh, so LT have shared with you that they received this speech by mail? It is normal practice that all registered media houses receive such important briefings from government and other leaders – just like all political party leaders have in fact done already.
9 – and who said they should be?
10 – your personal preference. If or when you become president you will be free to stick to that rule. For now, His Excellency prefers things differently.

  11. @ Partiot
…and yet you eulogize Sata and thank him for his leadership? It speaks volumes about your standards. You call this leadership really?

  12. You bloggers should go back to school. Lung is acting president and what ever he does he is doing on behalf of the president. The release of the draft constitution is MCSata but by he representative. In short Lung is acting on behalf of the Presidento. Otherwise the Presidents speech is good and encouraging

  13. It is so depressing how a good number of people are deluded by such propagandist speeches written by desperate unhonourable men who are clinging to power on the back of keeping an incapacitated President in power.

  14. Some of you bloggers should go back to school. Lungu Edgar is acting President and whatever he does he is doing on behalf of the President. The release of the draft constitution is MCSata but by his representative. In short Lungu is acting on behalf of the Presidento. Otherwise the President’s speech is good and encouraging

  15. Its sad to read some of the comments that some people (most) have posted in response to the speech. What worries me is the hatred and the negative attitudes behind the comments. There is nothing good about the president not being around at a time like this and i think everything being equal, he would have loved to be around. Unfortunately being negative about the situation will only breed anger, hate, insults and other vices. Lets be sober and civil and hope for the best both for our sick leader and the people of our lovely country Zambia. As we celebrate 50 years of independence, I wish to say to all of you Zambian’s that I Love you and am proud to be Zambian. God Bless you all. One Zambia One Nation

  16. @Brian Chirambo

“What worries me is the hatred and the negative attitudes behind the comments”

That is what you get when a LIAR and CHEAT gets into State House through FRAUD!

Did you really expect every intelligent person just to accept this?

I HATE THIEVES! I HAVE A NEGATIVE ATTITUDE TO LIES! Crooks, conmen and criminals receive no sympathy from me. And that is what we have as a Government today.

    • Can you substantiate your accusations? If so, then report them to the relevant authorities since you are otherwise withholding information about serious criminal activity – imprisonable offences namely FRAUD and THEFT. 50 years of independence and all some people can still do is shout “that one is a thief!” without any proof, just because you are jealous and ashamed of your own failures in life, so you point your finger at others

    • @ Yebo, I understand your perspective and your opinion of things and I respect that, but I still think one can still drive their point across without being driven by anger but with a focus and right attitude. You see the problem with hate and anger is that it eats the person who haber it in his heart and not the targeted person. Again I Love you all Zambians and am proud to be a Zambian.

  17. @TheJoy
Your mediocrity is quite confounding. If you are really an A plus student, as you claim, you will not give any credit to such a speech. A speech which should have been prepared months in advance. A speech which should have been well researched. A speech that is supposed to bring hope in the millions of Zambians. A speech that is supposed to show 50 years of independence. Unlike you, to me, there is no difference to the speeches the cobra spits during his dramatic swearing in ceremonies.

    • @Choma

Are you really so stupid as not to realise, different words evoke different emotion in different people?

Everyone has their own opinion on what someone says. Are you so insensitive to others opinions that you must tell them they are wrong unless they say it like you?

What type of people are you!

    • @ brother Choma Maanu: then your action list is very simple:

1- stop listening to the mediocre speeches by His Excellency.
2 – start campaigning for political office. Who knows, you might be the change we need.

For now, out of respect for the (majority out of the) people who voted in 2011, you need to give some respect – at least try – to their democratic choice of leader, Mr Michael Chilufya Sata. Then if/when you become President or minister or MP or Counsellor yourself, people will respect you.

    • @theJoy

He says a speech is supposed to show 50 years of indepence. How does a speech show anything? Express something, yes.

@Choma has an inferiority complex concerning his intellect. He really thinks he is smart, but truly it’s just about his dislike for Sata and PF he is venting against. He feels free to attack any supporters, that’s the bottom line.

When you respond intelligently to people like him/her, you can only end up in a squabble.

Happy Jubileeeeeeeee! Now the constitution draft is one we will analyse and debate on in days to come.

  18. Great speech by a great man..sata is simply zambias Nelson mandela fact!! Always speaks wif passion and with the heart for the poor..the best ever thing that has happen to zambia is himself being the president of the republic

    • @Clutchplate Banda, Concur, these people are on something. They have so much energy to argue. Some of them sound punch drunk with silly point by point moronic logic. Anyone can tell they are egotistic, self inflated, and ill educated (although, they swear they passed English)at Grade 1).

That really is a standard speech. Period.

  19. IN CAPITAL AS WELL,

WHY DOES THIS MAN (IF EVER HE EXISTS) KEEP MENTIONING GOD, GOD GOD? HE SHOULD TALK ABOUT ALA AS WELL, ZAMBIA IS NOT JUST FOR CHRISTIANS. HAS HE FORGOTTEN HE IS A PRESIDENT FOR ALL?

    • …and Lesa, and Kalunga and Kalung’a and Mulenga and all the names ascribed to him. What a MF numbskull you are sir! The speech is in goddamn English, not Arabic you oaf!

  20. My God all you men on here are So depressed and sick! Seek help….. Your ranting, outbusts and cry baby blogging is out of this world! You mean to tell me of all what is worth all you can debate on is Sata’s health, whereabouts, who wrote it, capitals and all that unmature “useless” pointers? Sobbing for mother Zambia she deserves better citizens, what a lot!
Anyway….. Thank you for all the heroes and heroins who made it possible for us to enjoy peace so we could even afford to blog and cry over niks while other nations go through bitter hallowing lives in the world!
Be blessed all Zambians where ever you maybe, mwaaah ;-)!

  21. So majority of you bloggers are very ignorant and lack knowledge on a lot of issues that’s why we have mediocrity of dabates,no constructive or reasonable arguments or critical analysis of cases here. How do u get amazed to see a speech in CAPITAL LETTERS,and to enlighten you the President does the draft and put his ideas in the speech then it goes for editing to secretary or whoever whose duty it’s to edit and add and returned to president for perusal and advise and finally consenting to the message and release of it.

  22. @ Benteke you are the pipo who perceive everything you browse from the Internet as the facts or truth. Most of information on the Internet are based on individual opinions and are not authenticated by other scholars.Thats why the originator puts a DECLAIMER . Manje imwe bones in Internet even something written by a fifth grader u take it as fact no wonder we are at this level.shame on us.

  23. I meant DISCLAIMER . Stop arguing about RUWE who is he just a mere DJ who is an economical refugee, now looking for survival coz pa pwala pa ZED manje.

  24. I wish we would wake up and demand a full account of what is going on. I feel sick watching tise charade don’t get me wrong I thank God for the 50 years of relative peace uneasy stability and for the lovely people Zambia has produced. However,
what I cannot stomach is the PF making a mockery of everything that is sane about our nation and its democracy.
Where is the president, how is he and when is he coming back? Whoever heard of a wedding ceremony without a bridegroom what kind of celebration can you have if the bridegroom is gravely ill and an appointee stands in to celebrate so the party can go on.
When next we have an election I pray that PF will be severely punished for what they have done and that their name will be wiped permanently from the memory of our nation.

  25. Thank you Jesus…Zambia is a Christian Nation… Thank you for everything you have done to the Nation ZAMBIA especially the Gift of The PRESIDENT. I JUST LOVE Michael Chilufya Sata even before he became the President. ‘GOD BLESSED ZAMBIA’
