Indeni refuse to give up relegation battle

Struggling FAZ Super League side Indeni have refused to give up their fight against relegation.

With two matches remaining before the season ends, Indeni are second from the bottom of the 16-team league table with 27 points from 28 games played.

Indeni vice captain and midfielder Norman Munthali believes th Oil Men can survive relegation.

Munthali said winning the last two matches would help Indeni to avoid demotion.

“We have to win the last two games. Winning the last two matches will make us survive relegation,” he said.

Indeni’s chances of surviving relegation hit a snag last Saturday as the club succumbed to a shocking 2-0 loss to fellow struggler’s Konkola Mine Police in Chingola.

“We have to go back to the drawing board and start working hard. It is bad that we are making mistakes at the back,” Munthali said.

Indeni bounced back to the Super League this year after sending the 2013 season in Division One.

  1. All sports activities, especially soccer has been put-off, until after November 11th. So no Indeni stories here.
I think I should be Acting Editor for LT for next 90 days.

  2. Indeni didn’t I warn you at the beginning of the season to pull up your socks and survive relegation. This yoyo type of football must come to an end.You are merely wasting taxpayers money.
I urge Indeni management to consider getting their sponsorship behind a united Ndola team. Please merge Lime Hotspurs,Indeni and Ndola United and come up with a new Ndola United which will rival ZESCO United.

  3. I have said it before, that we should rules that prevent such yoyoing after a number of yoyos. A team that yoyos twice in four years should be eneligible for any promostion for some period. Why should a team be blocking other youthful teams with ideas of how to survive premier league just because they have money to bounce back from the poorly financed division 1? How long are we going to have a team that prevents other teams from being promoted in one year, and prevent other teams from being demoted in the following year? Other teams also want to be promoted/demoted, too!
