Prolific best selling author and internationally renowned preacher and business coach, Dr. Myles Munroe of Bahamas Faith Ministries International, his wife Mrs. Ruth Ann Munroe and daughter, Charisa, died in a plane crash yesterday in the Bahamas. According to The Associated Press, the plane, a Lear 36 executive jet, reportedly struck a crane at the Grand Bahama Ship Yard, exploding on impact and crashing into the ground near a junkyard area.

The Bahamas Ministry of Transport and Aviation reported that the Lear 36 executive jet departed the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) in Nassau, Bahamas at 4:07PM for the Grand Bahama International Airport, a privately owned international airport in Freeport, Bahamas with nine people on board. The plane crashed while making an approach for landing at Grand Bahama International Airport at 5.10pm, the Ministry of Transport and Aviation said. The crash killed all nine people on board the private jet. The identities of the other people on board have not yet been confirmed. The cause of the crash was not immediately determined, though there had been heavy rain across the region. A full investigation is expected to begin on Monday.

The crash occurred as people were gathering in Grand Bahama for Dr. Munroe’s 2014 Global Leadership Forum which starts today, November, 10. Former mayor of Atlanta and former U.S Ambassador to the United Nations, Andrew Young scheduled to speak at the popular leadership forum, released the following statement through his foundation: “Ambassador Young expresses his deep sadness over the tragic death of his friends Dr. Myles and Mrs. Ruth Munroe. He offers condolences to the Munroe family and the families of the other souls who lost their lives as a result of this shocking plane crash.” Africa’s richest woman and oil mogul, Mrs. Folorunso Alakija is also expected to speak at the leadership forum. Known for his work and teachings on leadership, purpose and maximizing your potential, vision, individual and national transformation, Dr. Munroe was the senior pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship, where his wife, Ruth Ann, served as co-senior pastor. They leave son, Chairo (Myles Jr.) Munroe. Dr. Munroe died living out his purpose in life; spreading the gospel of Christ.

  1. This is so so sad.Teribly sad for the son who has suddenly lost his whole family.Dr.Munroe was one of a kind.Heaven awaits you- Good and faithful servant

    • horrible, horrible, i say horrible. some people do not deserve to die like this. such a great servant of the lord. we will miss your inspiring teachings that were deep to the bone of the soul.

what a loss. it just show that this world is not our home we are just passing through. what a tragedy i am so touched right now.

    • This is tragic. I’m so touched. We pray that only the Lord who understands this event will console us all especially their son left behind. We all must wake up from slumber and remember that this world is not our home. Your Jesus can come at any time. Thank God for this impactful life may his soul rest in peace with the Lord.

    • Today you meet your creator, today you left this evil world, today the grave mourns bcos it met you empty. No glory is left within, no dream unfulfilled and no vision un achieved. You will be back in Millenial reign, the very kingdom that form the basis of your life teachings.

My thoughts and prayers are with your son and the body of Christ.

God will grant them fortitude to bear this loss.

Rest in peace Dr Myles and Mrs Ruth Munroe

    • So Sorry to learn of this. I liked this guy. I do not agree with prosperity preachers like him, but I liked some of his teachings. He was better than the likes of Dollar and Hinn and Paula White etc. Hope to see him when Christ Resurrects the Dead and we which are alive will be caught up together with the LORD.

    • Really sad news for people close to the couple. Even though he was selling a tailor-made gospel to desperate folks, at the end of the day he’s human, and death is a sad occurrence. RIP.

    • Truly sorrowful to here about Myles Munroe. He was truly one of my mentors. He will definitely be missed. My prayers are with the rest of his family. Heaven Awaits-Thanks for the awesome impact and the Legacy you left behind.

    • I lost my mentor today! In a way, I was so very sorrowful but on the other hand I remembered one of his teaching about having your wife as a co-heir in your inheritance and immediately I felt a supernatural sense of achievement on his part.

Not only did he live a fulfilled life, I mean what else was left for him to achieve? He died with MaryAnn on his side!!! God knew it best to take him home with her by his side.

Dr. Monroe, I am reading your book – Passing It On for the third time I have known you for 24 years and yet it feels like we only met yesterday. Great leader you were, you have truly “Passed It On” Sir.

May Your Soul Rest In Eternal Peace … Son of God you were! Irreplaceable you are. So long dear friend, in the sweet by and by we shall meet on the beautiful shores!

    • Meant to say, Ruth Ann, I guess I am too sad still . . . My apologies for using a wrong name for his lovely departed wife.

  2. That’s sad news.Dr Munroe was a great servant of God who had a deep understanding and insight of the word of God.MHSRIP.

  3. He will be greatly missed. I am reading his book entitled “PASSING IT ON” , on mentorship and succeesion. Many people have been mentored by him.
He was a great teacher of the Word of God. I will miss you.

  4. My condolences to the family.Praying the God of all comfort to hold the heart of Myles Jr and all the family with eternal love and hope.

  5. This is very sad. Very sad. The Christian church and the world at large have lost good leaders. May their souls rest in peace.

  6. My God,now who is going to express your Word the way he did? He was very unique. Go well Dr Manroe and family, you’ve run your race well. M.Y.S.R.I.P

  7. Dr Monro agreat man of God his sermons were inspiring on TVZ. He once came to Zambia as the vip visitor of Nevers Mumba’s church MHSRIP.

  8. I just finish reading your book, “The burden of freedom” the great encourager, inspirer and motivator to all that you knew and those generations coming after that we read your books. concerning you, you have served the human race while you are on earth. The christian family will miss you, your gain is our pain. RIP to you and all the departed soul.

  9. You can claim to be this, that & all things special & go to make a lavish lifestyle out of fooling people – the gullible! In time – nature catches up with everyone – you simply can not outsmart nature. You may even claim that you are Gods chosen one – if only nature cared about that!

  10. Now, these are men and women worth mourning. Men and women who have inspired people worldwide. Men and women who have made great impacts in peoples’ lives and not men like Sata who leave a place more filth than they found it.

    • May God reward you your potion too. You are demonic and in hell you qualify indeed. The hate in you will eat you. Where ever you maybe enjoy your stay, as we are now tasting development that alluded Zambia.

    • The guy who brought Sata’s death into this issue is a real zambian indeed. They are heartless, selfish, myopic and demonic haters in relating to others. For anyone to talk about a late president (in death) of his country like that, especially when that president was democratically elected and is currently being mourned speaks volume of what such a people is made of. I lived in zambia for years and I know what I am talking about. I have never seen nor been among such evil minded bunch.
May the souls of the Monroes rest with God in peace forever and May God also accept the soul of one of africa’s great sons and politician M. Sata.

  11. He has definitely won the race. His reward waiting.
I thank God for Miles’ life.
May the comfort of the almighty God that he believed in be with the family and all mourners.
    Enjoy wisely

  12. Dr. Myles has blessed me for the past 22 years. I studied in CFNI Long-Island. was privileged listening his teaching for an entire week… I really wanted to Invite him to come to India and minister.. it was a huge shock. Well as Dr. Myles would say nothing happens without a purpose. I pray for his son may he be strong and take up the mantle of his father and operate in a double portion. Pr. Charles Dawson . Philadelphia fellowship – India………but I am very sad… Lord help all of us who are hurting.

  13. He indeed lived out his purpose to the full.He was a respectable citizen of the Bahamas but never indulged in politics like Dr.Mumba.
An inspiration to many.He will be greatly missed.

  14. I am currently reading his book on ‘ Reclaiming God’s Original Purpose for your life: God’s Big Idea’ (2012: 1-22).

His death is so sad that we have lost one of the great teachers of our times. In his book he stated that ‘ the word is ruled by dead men’- their Ideas are still ruling us. That death can never kill an Idea.

We may have lost him but he had a lot of ideas on leadership and the Kingdom of God that ‘death will never kill’ may his inspirational ideas rule the world through us as we remain in this world.

My sincere condolences to the family, friends, mentees and the ministry. Sidney Mushinge ( Zambia Shall be Saved)

  15. So sorry, My heartfelt condolences…He has fought a good fight and I believe Heavenly rewards are awaits him and his beloved ones. My sympathy to his family….

  16. Hurting event!! Only God knows the detail. May God comfort the son and family. Ya too sad to memories but we have a hope that will have time again in our father’s kingdom where such things will never appear.

  17. What a news! What a day for Christian community worldwide! Dr. Myles and Ruth, you have both fought a good fight, you have finished your race and you finished well and strong. Along with your daughter, Charisa, rest in the bosom of your God.
We love you, but Jesus loves you more.

    • You have never heard about anything because you have no time to read; busy cleaning toilets and doing other odd jobs abroad. Come home and earn a decent living, then you will have more time to learn about God and his people.

  18. Oh Dr Monroe, whatever happened only God almighty knows. I am sad and shocked, I guess you never expect such to happen to anyone but death can pick anyone when its time and the Lord allows it. Its much easier to accept when someone battled with an illness or old age and maybe you could foresee the ending and prepare yourselves for it. This is hard to accept. Rest in peace in the arms of the Father of celestial lights. :'(

  19. This is very sad and indeed untimely death. He was such a great teacher. I HAVE READ SO MANY OF HIS BOOKS.We never understand God’s ways but we know he accomplished his purpose and is resting with God.We are praying for his son.MTSRINP.

  20. MHRIP Dr Myles Munroe. He was one of the most influential speakers of the 21st Century, with unmacthed acumen of both business and leadership at large. He indeed fulfilled his “potential” to the fullest. He was a man with unmatched gifts in the Christian dominion. Sad moment for the Christian family. He was a very inspirational man, a man with unmatched leadership acumen. The God gives and He takes. May his soul rest in internal peace.

  21. Just got the new this morning through a e-mail. I could not believe it. I am also reading one of his books: The most important person on earth. what a great man of God. everyone that knew this man in anyone, he has left a impact on our lives through the power of the Holy spirit. you’ll keep the faith as he and those others that was lost have done. truly it is a lost, but heavens gain.

  22. It is one of the saddest moment in my life. Dr. Myles you were the best in your own way. Sad that I named my son after you ”Myles” I saw how you stood and your life is really a reflection of true man of God. If I had a way, I could gone there to mourn the man of God, but still my heart is not ok. Oh my God why? why? this early? God knows.

I pray God will guide and protect Myles Junior.

    • God don’t like this earthly stuff o PRIVATE EXECUTIVE JETS among so called men of God. Imakando take heed cos God is watching

  23. I feel obliged to say news from the BFM spokesperson says both his children have been told of the death and have visited the crash site. It would mean his daughter did not die as social media is reporting.

  24. In one of his writings, Dr Munroe said that graveyards are rich with knowledge (paraphrase is mine). He stated that by the time you are done with your work on earth you must go to your grave ’empty’. He has lived exactly that! He has emptied himself for the good of those that needed to make their lives worthwhile by following his teachings. Go well, Myles – you have run your race, and now you are indeed empty and ready for your rest.

  25. Sad and shocking news, indeed! I am currently reading one of his books, namely The Principles And POWER OF VISION. May His Soul Rest In Eternal Peace!

  26. Brother Myles Munroe. Great man of God. Taught with a vigor and Candence like only a few. May the Lord bless his child and his flock. He ran a great race for our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

  27. You blessed this world with your unique style in Christ Sir. BIG HAND to Pastor Ruth too, for supporting and standing by such a great man: job well done Ma. R.I.E.P. God’s hand of comfort be with Myles Jr and the Munroe, and BFMI family.

  28. Dr Myles Munroe, Wife and Daugther with all on the plane, My deepest condolences to the affected families. God of all comfort will comfort you in this difficult moment. May the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.

  29. Dr Myles Munroe was my spiritual father, teacher and mentor. He was such a great man of God. He was a blessing and gift to the body of Christ. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

  30. Some things are very difficult to understand. The death of Dr Monroe and family saddens me very deeply. To God be the glory.

  31. My heart aches this morning to know of the loss of the Munroe family. Dr. Myles has had a profound impact on my life as well as many many others. He was not only an educated man but he was also spirit filled. The loss of his wife and daughter grieves my heart and soul too. Pastor Ruth was always by his side to support the ministry. Precious daughter (Charisa) following in their footsteps just shows us the strength of the family.

To their son (Chairo), we love, appreciate and respect the legacy your family left us. My prayer is that you are strengthened by the word of God as you go through this difficult time. There are people all across this country (usa) and nation that mourn with you. Be encouraged!

  32. Dr Munroe affected my life in so many ways through his books. I have also been blessed by his preachings during Winners annual programme here in Nigeria(Shiloh) I also attended one of his leadership training organized by RCCG in Abuja Nigeria. I really mourn him and his dear family members. I have learnt so much from Dr Myles. Rest in the bosom of the Lord Sir

  33. His was a practical gospel that impacted your day to day life!
Who can ever know the mind of God. He is omnipotent even in this!
May their beautiful souls all the 9 of them rest in everlasting peace!

  34. A great servant to God and man has passed on to glory. It is indeed a sad day but one can truly say he fought a good fight, he finished his race. What a life and what an impact. I salute you Man of God, Myles Monroe. As you so eloquently said ‘ Death is just a doorway to take me to my faithful Lover”. You are home sir and heaven rejoices and though we are sad that you have left this realm we celebrate with the family of God in heaven. I salute you, till we meet on that beautiful shore.

  35. Everyone who has received The Teaching concerning the Kingdom of God. Follow after Christ as Dr. Monroe did. Allow the Holy Spirit to
lead you and guide you into your purpose and destiny of God. Dr. Monroe taught us how the Kingdom of God operates. We are indebted
to God to tell and compel others how to operate in the Kingdom and
tear down the walls of religion. The mantel that Dr. Monroe operated in awaits you!

  36. Lord, have mercy!!! But Thank you still for your servant…He was and will remain a great gift to humanity. Once again thank you, Lord, for this man.

  37. So what they kicked the bucket together? They also were partners in crime squeezing money out of peoples pockets!! A real Con-family!!

  38. Very sad news indeed. Dr Myles Munroe brought the best out of people. A truly gifted man. He ran a good race and fought a good fight.

  39. I mourn this great servant of God. He so ably articulated the message of the Kingdom, and the need for us to open our eyes and our hearts to God’s eternal plan for all of us who believe in Him. May the Maker pour His grace and His love on the Monroe family. Amen.

  40. Great man of God. Life had true meaning with your guide through teaching. So simple yet powerful teaching. What will the world be without your uplifting teaching? May the Lord almighty who used you use another servant of His for His purpose towards mankind. My face is ashamed for the loss..

    • Myles is truly a great man of God. His teachings have great impact on the lives of many. We love U Myles and we’ll miss you. MHSRIP.

  41. I loved this brother. He was all about the way of Christ. He always a had a word from the Lord. He kept it real and he knew how to deliver the word to people so that they could receive it. Not once did I witness him using the trickery or trying to entertain the folks. He gave you the word. Sometimes it made you laugh and sometimes it made you cry but It was always word.

May their souls Rest In Heaven

  42. Get your facts correct please! Their daughter did not die, she was not even on the jet! stupse…..you could have said it was “alleged” or something like that. You really have to be careful what you read and believe!!
