The Opposition Forum for Democracy and Development FDD has accused the ruling Patriotic Front PF of embezzling resources meant for payment of students’ allowances at the two public universities as well as for farmers.

FDD spokesperson Antonio Mwanza said government is failing to pay students and farmers because the PF has misapplied, misappropriated and embezzled the money that was budgeted for these payments.

“The Patriotic Front has misapplied, misappropriated and embezzled the money that was budgeted for the payment of students’ allowances at both CBU and UNZA and for farmers hence their failure to pay students and farmers their dues.

The PF has been running a Bamba Zonke reckless type of Government with no clear monetary and fiscal policy hence their failure to stick to approved budget lines leading to deficits and non payment of dues and debts.”

The opposition leader also charged that due to failure to stick to its own budget government has been forced to plead with local banks for resources to pay the farmers who supplied maize to the FRA and are still waiting for their money.

“Right now this government is busy pleading with local banks to borrow them money to pay farmers since the money that was allocated for the payment of farmers in 2013/14 National Budget has been squandered.

“As FDD we demand for the immediate payment of all the students and farmers whose payments are due.”

Mr. Mwanza further called on relevant institutions to investigate where the money meant for farmers has been taken.

“We urge the offices of the Auditor General and the ACC to move in and investigate how money meant for students and farmers was squandered.”

This contained in a statement released to the media by the FDD spokesperson in Lusaka today.

  1. FDD where is the proof mum?

I see it is the time when the roosters come home to roost.

You have nothing to offer the country anymore and you talk more nonsense than sense

    Thanks

    • This is what I call campaigning…. attack them, use farmers and ubunga price, frozen wages. Confuse them at its best.
But keep hammering on PF top leaders, not just government. Remember elections is to choose a useful tool, the man/woman with right balls.

    • @Nostradamus….for sure PF has to b further CONFUSED…..!!

  2. FDD, ARE YOU PARTICIPATING IN BY ELECTIONS OR WAITING FOR 2016? OTHERWISE KEEP QUITE. THERE IS NOTHING NEW YOU ARE SYAING ABOUT PF WHICH PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW.

  3. This PF Government has borrowed nearly 9 BILLION US DOLLARS, and they are too broke to pay students and farmers?????

I smell a DEAD ROTTEN RAT!

Time for the Auditor General to report to the Zambian people what these people are doing with their Taxpayers money!

    • Can we also have some accounting for the MEDICAL TOURISM too?

The Zambian Taxpayer must know how much of their money was spent on this exercise!

  4. why RB wants to come back? Is he afraid that when he dies he won’t be burried at Embassy park? Since he was just a care taker PRESIDENT LIKE SCOT? I just checked article 25 of the constitution says even care taker presidents will be burried at Embassy PARK, PLEASE RB DON’T COME BACK , YOU, KAUNDA, AND SCOT WILL SLEEP AT EMBASSY PARK DONT WORRY

  5. PF is a bunch of poor managers of our resources. These a crooks and thieves who are not ashamed of looting our economy. They started stealing right from 2011 when they came into power, and accelerated their vise when late Sata’s health started diminishing, and when he was pronounced dead and during the funeral period, these shameless gluttons stole millions of Kwacha re-based from our national treasury. These are professional thieves including the sick Edgar Lungu.

  6. Anthony you are an intellectual and I don’t expect you to be ranting anyhow like you have been of late just to gain media attention. Be factual, you becoming an empty tiny now!! Come up with the figures and not just making noise!!

  7. You want proof? Eishi are you a rationale zambian? Go find farmers and they will tell you they haven’t recieved any payment. Go to the two varsities, students aren’t paid. The institutions are running in red. So where is the doubt? Be rationale, you will save yourself from being petty and tribal or is it regional.

  8. When nawakwi was finance minister, she used to give Chiluba a huge chunk of money known as presidential slush fund. The president spent this money recklessly by giving alms and it was never accounted for. This was at a time when hospitals had no medicines.

  9. please pf thieves if antony is not correct tell the nation where the money that was allocated to provinces to pay farmers two weeks after delivering their maize went figures were given but todate farmers who sold their maize have not been paid yet from august why should the liars/thieves continue telling lies. can the auditor general move in and tell the nation why people are not being paid we know this because we stay with farmers who are stranded abash pf

  10. FDD, when Sata was still alive you rarely condemned him. You behaved like little puppies rolling on the ground begging for a small bone. If you have no campaign strategy, just shut up and please stay away from this election, you are just going to split votes which could go to useful people. Stay in the past. You look foolish.

  11. Stop asking for were the money is. what do you think the money paid to late MCS doctors came from? eaaa , all these journeys to India, Israel, London, New york and Doctors coming into state house were not for free. Despite that when we saw MCS dosing due to ill health we went ahead and rooted the treasury. Even if you cry the loudest, we do not care. we have more moni in our pocket and no moni in yo pockets.

  12. I don’t believe in a poor country paying university fees when it can’t afford medical care and other basic needs. For university students, it will be sustainable if students’ loans were introduced. What matters is sustainability if the economy of Zambia is to improve.

It is one thing if you are not in government: every dream is possible. But once you are in government, you will find that the budget will not be enough to quench the thirst of every Jill and Jack, and you will have to consider opportunity costs. Sata was blamed for this opportunity cost — but he did his best for the country…M.I.S.R.I.P.
