The Zambia Under-17 Boys Team will warm up for next year’s CAF Under-17 Championship by participating at the COSAFA Junior Championship which will take place at the Region 5 Games in Zimbabwe next month.
COSAFA has announced that it will organise the Junior Men’s and Junior Women’s competitions at the African Union Sports Commission (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Games to be staged in Bulawayo from December 4-14.
Chris Kaunda’s side has already been paired with defending champions South Africa in Group B of the under-17 event which has Lesotho, Seychelles and Namibia as well.
Group A features hosts Zimbabwe as top seeds, followed by Mozambique, Swaziland, Angola and Malawi.
Zambia will open the campaign on 4th December with a match against Lesotho at Luveve Stadium before facing Namibia 24 hours later and wraps up group stage matches with games against South Africa and Seychelles on 7 and 8 December respectively.
The Junior Chipolopolo Boys have qualified for CAF’s African Youth Championships in Niger next February.
