Northern Province Anti-Voter Apathy (AVAP) Information Officer Job Mwila says his will undertake vigorous voter education sensitization programmes in the province.

Mr. Mwila says the sensitization program is very important as Zambians need to know the importance of electing a president of their choice in the fourth coming presidential by- elections.

ZANIS reports that the civil rights activist said this in an interview with , today.

The Information Officer said AVAP will do the sensitization programs through community outreach programs and door to door campaigns.

He said the organization will also involve the media especially Radio Mano to communicate with the community on the voting process.

He has however advised political parties to stop the intra-party fighting and democratically choose candidates to represent their parties during the by-election.

He said political parties should follow their party constitutions when choosing candidates as opposed to bringing anarchy in the country.

Mr. Mwila said members of political parties must avoid anarchy as this will bring about voter apathy during the elections.

  1. This is animal farm for sure why only one province needs such program, do every province need to be told what is needed. Voters apathy. Don’t be scared please this is one Zambia one National.

  2. Voter education should be on-going especially for an illiterate and uninformed population like Zambia. Don’t just become exited when you see an election

    • Keep your inferiority to yourself.

Since when does being illiterate mean you do not understand Leadership selection? Even in the most primitive groups and even in animal groups, Leadership selection is understood. The strongest rule over the following weaker ones.

People do not vote based of being informed about ‘voting.’ There is Apathy on a wide scale because of the dirty politics Zambia engages in particularly the Sata regime. He has left a broken country and introduced foreign interests over citizens in politics.

People feel powerless to change the Leadership as the vote has become insignificant through the erosion of selection processes. You only have to look at the Guy Scott saga. The white savage has torn asunder the PF because they cannot control Edgar Lungu.
