Government and the Cooperating Partners Group(CPG) will next week host a high level Conference on job creation and promotion of inclusive growth in the country.

The jointly hosted conference will address the challenges and explore the opportunities for achieving the objectives of job creation and promotion of inclusive growth in Zambia.

Government with the Cooperating Partners have recognized the challenge of creating inclusive growth that not only ensures a
continually growing economy but also creates more employment opportunities for people.

This was contained in statement made available to ZANIS by Ministry of Finance Public Relations Officer Chileshe Kandeta.

Mr. Kandeta said the Job Creation and Inclusive Growth Conference will involve international and Zambian speakers including ministers, government officials, academics ,researchers, cooperating partners, civil society, and business men and women from the private sector.

He said the participants will all come together to present, discuss, share ideas, and agree on how best to support inclusive growth and job creation.

Mr. Kandeta said a key feature of the conference will be the holding of a “market place” exhibition at which five successful cases of entrepreneurship will be rewarded with financial gifts and certificates of recognition.

Presenters and participants at the conference will be drawn from the Zambian Public Service and members of the Cooperating Partners Group who include the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, African Development Bank, European Union, and the UN Systems.

Others are Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Ireland, and Italy and the United States of America among other countries.

The conference will take place in Lusaka at the Mulungushi Conference Center on the 24th and 25th of November 2014.

    • Hahahaha….. campaigning, i guess PF never saw elections coming so soon even when they knew that Sata was very sick.

How will this useless PF government create jobs when they have imposed a wage freeze?

      Caught in your own trap!

  1. … but I thought PF had created enough jobs and reduced unemployment rates. What job creation are they talking about?

    Lol!

  2. Reminds me of AKA when he went soemewhere there was a conference in the early 90s to discuss democracy – certain things should not be workshopped like that; talking about theories, when what is needed is practical solutions. Don’t we already know what needs to be done to create jobs – what has the government been doing for the past 3 years? You can understand a new government doing so in its first 3 months, to strategise; not an old one like the outgoing!

  3. Misdirected endeavours, Conferences after conferences without tangible outcomes. Why not just use the cash that you are wasting in hosting such conferences and get many bunches of a mixture of dropouts, educated, the trained, the experienced, etc all those without jobs and show them what they do, then give them that money, tools and materials they need, let them work and be productive. You will have created jobs directly rather than smoke screen conferences. Don’t show people smoke the need fire to warm them up!

  4. I hope most (at least 85%) of participants are from the private sector, with only 10% from the civil service and 5% from development partners.Jobs are not created in Conferences, but through private sector growth which in turn creates wealth that provides a livelihood niche for every citizen.

  5. Now an election is looming all these PF malingerers are only worried about THEIR OWN JOBS and they are waking up!

    Three years after 2011!!!!!!

90 days promises were just LIES. The only jobs they have created are the deputy Minister posts for their friends.

Liars and CHEATS. Vote wisely this time!

  6. Job creation, with invited foreign observers or more investors we need to give land to?

Anything Chikwanda does always ends up being a free for all for foreigners and a reduction in our revenue from lack of taxing them!

No, I will not forgive him for the mishandling of Mine Revenue. Even now they are already attempting to drop the new taxes because of pressure from mine interest groups.

  7. Total Rubbish!!! since when did this PF government care about Zambians? Election time? we know you now liers! Immediately we elect them back they will forget about us and go back to their old bad ways – looting Tax payers money! eating alone with relative, girl friends etc YEK!

  8. LOL, THE p f CREATED A LOT OF JOBS ALREADY? NOW WITH THE RAINS COMING? THE GRASS ALONG THE ROADS WILL GROW AND OUR YOUTH WILL BE BUSY SLASHING THE GRASS; JUST HOPE THERE ARE ENOUGH SLASHERS IN THE COUNTRY. OPEN UP ALL THE DEFUNCT INDUSTRIES TO CREATE EMPLOYEMENT IN THE COUNTRY? ALL THOSE TEXTILES ETC SITTING IDLE AROUND THE COUNTRY AND MANUFACTURING PLACES SHOULD START OPERATING TO CREATE EMPLOYEMENT? ANOTHER THING FOR THE GOVERNMENT? BUY TRACTORS WITH GRASS CUTTERS INSTEAD OF MAKING OTHER PEOPLE S CHILDREN SUFFER WITH SLASHERS;

  9. Why is it that most of you have been poluted with politics?, these are shallow comments, why cant you see something positive in this article?, not all people working in the gvt are PF, so dont think if PF is not stable then the gvt cant continue doing its fuctions. This is what i would love to be reading on LT, not all time politics, when people leave their houses to go stay in hotels with their families just because they are now Ministers and PS, thats what they are good at.
