Government has released K128 million towards preparations for the upcoming 2015 presidential by-election.

ZANIS reports that Acting Secretary to the Treasury Pamela Ababa disclosed this in statement signed by Ministry of Finance Public Relations Officer Chileshe Kandeta.

Mrs Kabamba said government is committed to ensuring that preparations for the presidential by-elections progress smoothly.

She said the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) had submitted a total budget of K344 million to successfully hold the presidential by-elections.

Mrs Kabamba assured the nation that government will work round the clock to ensure that financial resources are made readily available to ECZ to adequately prepare and conduct the presidential by-election.

The country on January 20, 2015 will hold polls to elect a new president after the death of President Michael Sata on October 28, 2014 in a London Hospital.

  1. Let’s have live Presidential Debates now that the date has been set. HH will shine all the way through as he is the only decent candidate. Change has come indeed. Viva Flight HH2015.

  2. When as president you preside over unnecessary parliamentary by-elections, just know a presidential
by-election is ALSO in the making for you!

  3. HH , am happy with u, among the strong political parties we have in this lovely country , your party(house) is in order, we will give you the mandate or intrument of powers to rule this nation but dont be a tribalism.

  4. PF MP’s do not take Zambians for fools. If you continue with your disorder you will force military rule.remember you were warned not to force the army into politics.
They will lock you all up once they take over.Icindikeni Bakapala.

  5. Our late Sata was holding PF together. He did this because he made it.When political prostitutes joined him, they brought confusion to the party. This is apparent after his death.Everyone now thinks can rule our country.
Please respect the people of Zambia by acting orderly.
We will choose the leader by means of a vote.
This time around we are not voting for the party. We will vote basing on the characteristics of a candidate and what he can deliver.
