Suspended Patriotic Front National Chairperson Inonge Wina says she did not realize that being a peace maker is a crime.

Acting President Guy Scott today suspended sixteen members of the PF Central Committee for defying his orders not to hold the meeting today in Lusaka.

But Ms. Wina has told QFM News in a telephone interview that though she has not received any suspension letter from the Acting President, she has no further comment regarding the issue.

And Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe says Dr. Scott has no powers whatsoever to suspend anyone from the party saying he is just acting as President.

Mr. Sikazwe has told QFM News in a separate phone interview that the decision taken by Dr. Scott will bring more confusion in the ruling party.

He argues that Dr. Scott has no powers to discipline anyone.

He says Dr. Scott’s team thought the Central Committee is afraid to go to the general conference, but that now they have hinted that they will be going to the convention that is why Dr. Scott is acting in such a manner.

The members of the Central Committee that Dr. Scott has suspended include; PF Chairperson Inonge Wina, Home Affairs Deputy Minister Steven Kampyongo, Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr. Joseph Katema, Tourism and Arts Minister Jean Kapata, Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe, Copperbelt Minister Mwenya Musenge.

Others include; Benson Chali, Rasford Mwale, Fabian Chiposo, John Chipanga, Malozo Shichone, Willy Nsanda, James Kapyanga, Obvious Chisala, and Lazarous Chisanga.

    • Yeah she was bang out of order and she deserves the suspension. The guy Guy Scott is trying to instill discipline in PF which has been lacking since 2011 and people can’t see this. We blacks we seem to enjoy disorder, when someone is trying to create order we always resort to calling him names. We need to change our thinking if we are to develop as a nation.
      I’m glad this confusion within PF is happening now before the elections which gives us a snap shot of what we will get when we vote these guys into power again. Most of these guys have unfinished business of plundering the nations resources. We need to wake up us Zambians otherwise we will continue in this retrogressive loop.

  5. Very intriguing. Did she consult with the president to chair the meeting and did she get the go ahead. She must give all the details of the meeting. Looks likes some PF members are deliberately disrespecting the President because they think as acting president he has no powers to discipline them. What is wrong with going to the convention or is it general conference and have a democratically elected leader of the party?When did dead people ever chose leaders to lead the living. That is where the constitution comes in.

      1. Chairperson of the party is a junior position to president or acting president
      2. ONLY president or acting president can call and chair CC meeting.

      Please tell us your arguments or opinions and desist from attacking the person of Guy Scott. That he was born of Caucasian parents and in Northern Rhodesia was not his fault.     • Excuse me @ Chilyata, no insults please, the general readership enjoys reading sensible and respectful articles. Insults don’t add value to points advanced. Lets always remember to respect each other inspite of our differing views on the issue.
      The point is, regardless of any position anyone holds no-one is above the position of the president/acting president and I want to believe that this is the same in PF as well. Let’s also remember to separate individuals from the positions they hold so we can understand the value of the position and the respect it commands. Ultimately, however, the individual holding a certain position commands the same respect as his/her position entails. Consequently, no one can act unilaterally regardless of the mission….the president has to give consent.

  7. Too many fake peace makers. Kaseba also says she is standing as president to bring peace. Who says peace can only come by people standing as presidential candidates.

I just hope the reported meeting for tomorrow will be the end of all this drama and open a new chapter

    The issue of Scott Acting Presidency should have been heard earlier. This is unacceptable. The judiciary should have resolved this by now. We need an emergency hearing to remove Guy Scott, who was incidentally, suspended. Now he has come in to suspend them back!

    This man and Sata gang need to be shown that we the people will not allow this type of politics that allows one man to manipulate the party.

    Important, is we might just need a General election right away.

Guy Scott may be expelled from PF but he is still acting Republican President. Just because Sata asked that drunk to act in his absence does not mean his decision supersedes the provisions of the republican constitution! Anyone trying to mount a coup de etat will be charged with treason.

  28. Well done Scott. Its high time discipline was instilled in the PF. The problem with some Zambians is that they think anarchy is being smart to the extent of even calling Scott dull and opusa. For your information intelligent and educated people like Scott use their brains. Lungu thought he was smart by manipulating some dull central committee members to impose himself on Zambians by avoiding the gen. conference but where is he now? Scott has wired him. He is no longer S.G. and he is going to Mulungushi and with Dr Kaseba standing, he stands no chance. This is the end of his political career because the next president will drop him as minister and in 2016 he will not be adopted as M.P. period.

Mazoka walked out of MMD after he won the position of ward treasurer in Bauleni and formed his own party. Why can’t the thief Lungu do the same? You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to realise that the confusion in the PF is being perpetrated largely by Lungu in the background by the use of kaponyas from his chawama constituency and threats on insecure MPs and MCCs, but things are surely catching up with him. Well it wont be long before he sheds genuine tears.

    So Scott alone can issue commends to everybody withim the Central Committee not to convene any meeting; suspend anyone at will; etc. Yet even if 99% of the same committee (the 1% being him Scott) agree on something, it is useless, null and void. He’s never even been elected. You wanted the definition of ‘dictatorship’ this is it right here. ZWD were fond of calling Sata an ailing ‘dictator’ well this Scott is turning into worse because even Sata never yielded and executed this much authority.

    The constitution is faulty because democracy entails the majority voice be heard.

    • And for past 12 years bright and intelligent members of PF in general and CC in particular did not notice either that PF constitution goes against democratic principles nor that autocratic DNA of their leadership?
      Now, the same “lungu cartel”, after failing in their lodge coup are crying about lack of democracy in PF?

    • It’s the procedures that CC is failing to follow which amounts to indiscipline. They are failing to follow their own constitution. I actually doubt whether these guys ever knew that their party had a constitution. This Sikazwe guy never had it in his wildest dreams that he would be a provincial minister ever in his lifetime.

Lungu camp know very well that they are losing and they are left with no option but to cause violence and confusion both in the party and the country at large.

  52. It seems the country is at a standstill with no news about development and welfare of the Zambian people being featured by the media. It’s all about selfish politicians and their hunger for power. They are so desperate for state house that they have started revealing personal details of where their parents were born and all such stuff.
    Who is there to ensure that civil servants are working when ministers are busy suspending and counter suspending each other on a daily basis?

  55. What peace were you making madam Wina by attending and chairing an illegal meeting? You must be out of your mind to think that people can’t see through your trickery. Guy Scott may not be an indigenous Zambian but he understands the political landscape of Zambia better and is at the moment on top of things. Mind the way you conduct yourself or you risk becoming irrelevant to Zambian politics to which you have risen using your late husband’s name.
