Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ) president Father Frank Bwalya says he decided to pull out of the opposition alliance because people were not being honest to each other.
Fr Bwalya says his party’s continued stay in the opposition alliance therefore became unattainable.
Reacting to accusations that he has betrayed the opposition alliance by choosing to support the Patriotic Front in the presidential election, Fr Bwalya told Qfm news that he does not think that this is the right time to blame one another but a time to own up.
He stated that his party has not yet created enough structures throughout the country to enable it contest the election, hence the decision to support the ruling Patriotic Front.
The opposition alliance consisted the MMD, All People’s Congress, People’s Party, Zambians for Empowerment and Development and Alliance for Better Zambia.

Leave Father Frank Bwalya alone. What he has done is a logical thing. He may have wandered away from PF for some time. But as a priest who gave countless sermons, the story of a prodigal son keeps knocking at him. Like the bibical prodigal son, Bwalya has come back to the fold. Like the forgiving father of the prodigal son PF has no option but to embrace him and integrate him in the PF family
You mean people dont know why ABZ was formed? ABZ was formed by the bemba clique in PF who wanted an alternative platform incase Sata went wild. They feared the cartel’s power and Kabimba, hence the formation of ABZ. ABZ has always been PF is sheep’s skin. The marriage of Lungu and ABZ therefore is a natural one. Bwalya has come home in PF. He was a mole in the alliance.
