The Press Association of Zambia wishes to ask all public media houses to ignore and dismiss the illogical statement issued by information permanent secretary Chanda Kasolo that they should consult him before publishing political stories.
The media refered to do not belong to PF or Mr Kadolo but the people of Zambia.We therefore wish to condemn the statement issued by Mr kasolo during a press briefing on Monday.Mr Kasolo does not own any public media in this country.We are very convinced that Mr Kasolo does not understands his limits.
If left unchecked Mr Kasolo’s actions have the potential to cause further injury to the already distorted media land scape.The Acting president has an opportunity to show that he did not endorse Mr Kasolo’s directive that public media houses must first report to him before they publish all political stories.
As a consequence of his directive,the Press Association Of Zambia (PAZA) has started consultation with the possibility of a demonstration at the office of Dr Guy Scott this Thursday starting at 9hours.
We therefore want to alert members of the civil society and media workers to expect confirmation on this matter.
Pliz let us also remember the plight of TAZARA Workers who have really safad for 6 months without getting paid. Since January this tear, many people have died bcoz of hunger in TAZARA. HH should help these pipo after winning next year’s elections. Chanda Kasolo is a fool.

But allow TAZARA WORKERS to also air out their views concerning their working conditions that started deteriorating during Rupiah Banda’s poor leadership. The government should fire Mr. Mandona of Mpika for corruption and nepotism. Mr. Mandona of TAZARA MPKIA has really made people to suffer in TAZARA.
Do not worry HH the incoming president will sort out your problem Tazara employees. He has heard you cry and anguish.. He is in northern province and will give you an assurance.

Permanent Secretary is a very senior position in government, a controlling officer! Such jobs are supposed to be advertised, albeit they have been tainted with political connections from dependence to-date.
We have witnessed very balanced reporting by public media lately, may be good enough so the cartel wings can be clipped!

This is what you get when you have people in positions that they themselves do not understand. Kasolo cannot differentiate his job from that of the Editor. Here is busy blaming the newsroom for reporting about the statement of Edigar Lungu, fool,ishly claiming that it would cause chaos. Doesn’t, he know that journalists are reporters not “news makers.” Does he need a course in basic logic to understand that the news had already been made by Scott and Lungu. Znbc simply had to report! Incompetence in gvt departments is worrying.
Consultations aimed at organizing a demonstration are on the inspired side. Is it a storm in a tea cup? They show that the civil society organization is very often an interested party and not the non partisan force that it aspires to be. This is normal in a human system. The problem is that an elected government must be allowed to set the agenda and the pace, tone and other rules at implementation level. When the elections pass, then many people will celebrate but a few will really be disappointed.
