Acting President Guy Scott has threatened to ‘postpone’ the PF General Conference by one week if it is true that there are some people who are trying to cause confusion at the Conference.
Dr Scott says it has come to his attention that some PF cadres are planning to disturb the conference slated for this weekend.
“I may delay the PF General Conference by a week if it is true that there are some people who will cause confusion during the confusion convention,” Dr Scott warned.
The PF General Convention is expected to take place on Saturday November 29, 2014 at Mulungushi Rock of Authority in Kabwe where the delegates would meet to elect a president of the party who shall also be the presidential candidate at the forth coming presidential election set for January 20, 2015.
Dr Scott announced recently that 5000 delegates are expected to attend the Conference.
Dr Scott said this on ZNBC 19-00 hours Main News monitored in Lusaka by ZANIS this evening.
A few days ago, pro-Edgar Lungu members of the Central Committee apologized to Dr Scott for their alleged misconduct.
Squabbles have rocked the ruling party over succession to late President Michael Sata.
Nine candidates, among them Mr. Sata’s widow, Christine Kaseba, have applied for the top job.

Mr Scott, please be aware that the greatest obstacle (vote rigging) to democratic consolidation on Saturday could lead to electoral violence. This is as a result of the rascal politics that the political elites such as Miles Sampa and Slyvia Masebo want to engage in. Apart from that the fact that this phenomenon affects the credibility of the electoral system, the democratic system and the rule of law, the nature, extent and magnitude of violence and rigging associated with elections in PF had assumed alarming proportions that necessitates intellectual excursion to the realm of possible solutions. If Miss Masebo rigs these elections to install a cartel agent, PF will be playing in the hands of UPND.
It would be better for the PF if Scott listened to the idea of the central committee. Time is running out. He can delay the convention but he should keep it in mind that Zambians will not allow him to delay January election.

Zambian version of Arab Spring! Just as some Arabian brothers thought they would bring something better but have ended up in a free for all self destructive mood, killing each other like anything! The Problem with PF is not any delays or what. PF had no structures when SATA won. SATA himself was not subject to a vote as being proposed. Kabimba “the traitor” organised the party and to some extent PF was on the ground. But what has happened now is the Kabimba went round and destroyed them and sold them to UPND. His pay – nominated MP by HH. for the Job well-done. So Scott and PF have been napping by Kabimba and Senior Intelligence Officers who may be working with. So whats their way out, 1. Do the “American Style Debate” in Kabwe so that 8 aspirants are eliminated; 2. Sell yourselves as the most democratic party 3. Sell the remaining stock of government houses as campaign tool.
