Acting President Guy Scott has temporarily suspended registration of delegates to the PF General Conference scheduled for tomorrow in Kabwe.
Dr Scott says this follows an illegal takeover of the process by unknown persons in Lusaka.
He has since declared all credentials already processed as null and void and that they will not be used for entrance into Mulungushi Rock of Authority in Kabwe.
Dr Scot told a media briefing that official registers validated and issued by the PF secretariat in Lusaka, Kabwe and Kapiri Mposhi have been destroyed by the same unknown persons.
Dr Scott added that in this regard, the registration process will be restarted at 08 Hours at Mulungushi Rock of Authority tomorrow.
He added that all legitimate delegates have been advised to proceed to Kabwe and the General Conference will be opened only after a legitimate and proper registration process has been completed adding that there will be no shortcuts.
But the PF Central Committee says it is surprising that instructions have been issued to cancel the accreditation process when it was being done by a body appointed by the Acting President.
Speaking during a media briefing, PF Central Committee Spokesperson Harry Kalaba said that although the Committee was aware of the maneuvers to temper with the register, the party members were steadfast that a fair, transparent process will be carried out to elect the party’s presidential candidate.
“As you are aware, the Acting President Dr. Guy Scott called for a General Conference to be held in Kabwe on 29th November 2014. The Central Committee agreed to hold the General Conference. As we speak all logistics are in place and our delegates are travelling to Mulungushi Rock of Authority,” Mr Kalaba said.
He added, “Earlier, accreditation process began in earnest and we are surprised that instructions have been issued to cancel the process. This is strange because this accreditation is being done using the register issued by the Acting Secretary General, Bridget Attanga and the accreditation process by a body appointed by the Acting President.”
“As members of the Central Committee and Members of Parliament, we have agreed that the General Conference will proceed as scheduled and all concerns regarding accreditation of delegates will be resolved at the Conference. Any further issuance of accreditation in Lusaka will be deemed as null and void.”
Mr Kalaba said “We have been investigating allegations of parallel registration and accreditation. We have also been investigating allegations of certain centers only opened to delegates of a certain camp. We hope that these allegations will be resolved at Mulungushi in Kabwe.”
He added, “Our warning to the detractors is that the PF Family, is one and is determined to elect a candidate of its choice and commence national campaigns. The enemies of the party have resorted to scare tactics, tactics of intimidation and instilling fear in our delegates. These activities are designed to discourage our delegates.”
“Please be informed that the PF family is a peaceful group and we will go to Mulungushi in Kabwe. But we wish to assure our delegates that we are determined to hold a successful and peaceful conference. Our members have taken time from their families, and from their work to come to Mulungushi, it is important that the Conference is conducted in a peaceful environment.”
Mr Kalaba said attempts to tamper with the register will not succeed.
“We are steadfast that a fair, transparent process will be carried out to elect the party’s presidential candidate. We have a duty to carry the vision of President Michael Sata, and to hold our party together. Enemies of the party will be exposed and removed. We therefore appeal to all our members to remain calm and peaceful and wish you a safe journey to Kabwe.”
And people are busy praising Guy for “good ledership”.This dude is bent on finishing PF,knowing that he has nothing to lose.
This Chaos in PF if not managed properly, could turn into a national crisis and turmoil.

Zambians need to note that this is just a by election and the president from this election will be facing another election in less than 2 years. A transitional president like RB is the best the country can have. Otherwise people will be fatigued with elections and 2016 will register massive apathy. Also, Zambia could waste a whole 2 years in political campaigns at the expense of development. Think twice
I did say that we have already seen fake promises from HH about lower taxes, re-recruitment of the fired nurses and more nurses, free education up to university, and many more promises to street nuisance makers in vendors and taxi drivers. many of these that he will not deliver.
We have also seen a statement from RB suggesting that Zambia needs healing, a consented effort to reunite and some work to restore national pride and a path for our much ravaged economy. Nothing about campaign promises but a message of hope. Add to that the fact that this man has no interest beyond 2016.
But as usual Zambians cant see daylight even if it was staring at them, right in front because they would be too busy looking for personalities.
We the people are now getting tired of this confusion. Should we really be at the mercy of these PF thuggery? Its better we all rally behind one leader, and that leader is HH. Lets give this man a two year chance to be president, and then we can either renew or not renew his contract depending on his performance.
