The Luangwa District and Constituency UNIP Executive Committees together with the entire District membership have withdrawn their early statement calling for the
resignation of their party President, Tilyenji Kaunda and have reaffirmed their full support to him as UNIP presidential candidate in the January 20, 2015 Presidential by-elections.

Luangwa District UNIP Chairman, Olden Tembo and District Secretary, Ngosa Muswema, said the membership in the district regret their earlier statement of calling for the resignation of their
party president, Tilyenji Kaunda and have pledged and confirmed that they are fully behind the leadership of their president.

Mr Tembo and Mr Muswema said the district and constituency officials and the entire UNIP membership were misled by a few senior party officials, among them Ms Beatrice Kayuni, who told them to join in calling of the resignation of their party president as someone who was not taking the party anywhere.

The two district officials have apologised to the Central Committee and the party president, Tilyenji Kaunda and pledged to support the party president.

They said the UNIP members in the district were fully behind the candidature of Tilyenji Kaunda in the coming presidential by-elections.

  1. UNIP has to rebrand itself…it has been over 22 years since its fall and it is possible to rise up once again…its all about vision for the nation…and getting rid off names that sound like the past lol

  2. Enter Campaign 09. For a brief moment there it almost looked like another two headed body was about to emerge in the syndrome that has inflicted parties that have tasted power. Chuckle.

Campaign 01 (HH) is almost done with the whirlwind romancing the Union tour.

Campaign 02 (GM) is playing the silent lone traveller.

Campaign 03 (RB) is smugly posing with Grand Mufti and speaking of peace.

Campaign 04 (NM) is quietly sulking while awaiting court on the 10th.

Campaign 05 (EC) is quietly doing whatever he is quietly doing.

Campaign 06 (ED) is running a victory lap and preparing to ‘Belt’ up support.

Campaign 07 (MS) is blinking as the glaring realities hit and has lawyer on speed dial.

Campaign 08 (EN) is preparing to burn bras or the equivalent modern day…

  3. Do they really exist??

thought Panga Family will be the only former ruling party come 20.1.15

    Viva HH

  4. Chumbumunshololwa,
you are not alone, my friend. I didn’t know Unip was still kicking. For starters what kind of idiót in 2014 would want to confess that he’s a card carrying member of Unip?

  5. If I’m not mistaken even ex dictator Kaunda is too embarrassed to be associated with this party. I see him schmoozing with those PF petty thieves all the time.
