Patriotic Front President Edgar Lungu has said that opposition leaders are lying to the people of Zambia by promising wholesome changes when elected.
He said that the opposition leaders should not pretend that they will bring new things on the table when they can only continue were President Sata left from.
Mr Lungu added that there is nothing new that the opposition will bring to the table because everything is on course under the PF government.
He stated that nothing can be done in the remaining period before 2016 to change what the PF has been doing.
Mr Lungu said that the opposition should allow the PF to finish what President Sata has left behind.
Mr Lungu also said that there will be very little change in the initial period of his presidency if elected because the ruling party already has a running development programme for the country.
Mr Lungu cited the ongoing construction projects such as roads, schools and hospitals as some of the projects the Patriotic Front government is already implementing.
Mr Lungu said that it will be naïve and folly for him to imagine that he will implement his vision in the remaining period before 2016.
Mr Lungu said that Patriotic Front will revise its manifesto beyond 2016 to accommodate his vision and personality.
Mr Lungu also dispelled assertions that Late President Micheal Sata anointed someone to take over from him, saying that President Sata had opened it up to everyone to work hard and show their capabilities.
And Mr Lungu has reiterated his call to the other faction in the Patriotic Front to come back to the fold.
The Justice Minister dismissed suggestions that his relationship with Acting President Dr. Guy Scott had crumbled down, Lungu saying he occasionally communicates with Scott on matters of a national nature. He also indicated he was close to GBM except that they had differences based on political preferences.
He invited the Kasama Member of Parliament to join him on the campaign trail and ensure the PF bounces back in the coming elections.
Mr Lungu further dismissed stories that have been speculating about his health saying he was very fit and that the malicious stories were the work of political detractors.
Mr Lungu was speaking on Radio Phoenix’s Let the People Talk this morning.
Meanwhile, Central Province Patriotic Front(PF) members have said that they have resolved to support the candidature of Defence and Justice Minister Edgar Lungu in the upcoming presidential elections because he is the only leader who has shown that he is able to unite and develop the country.
The PF members who marched in the Town Center in Kabwe today in support of Mr Lungu said the late president Michael Sata saw humility and leadership qualities hence his decision to overload him with such huge responsibilities every time he went out of the country.
Speaking after a solidarity March PF Provincial Secretary Monica Mwale said the entire Provincial leadership was in support of Mr Lungu and that it was ready to start campaigning for him ahead of the elections and urged others to join.
Ms Mwale who was flanked by other PF Members said it was only fair that Mr Lungu is given the support if the projects which were started by the late President and its Cabinet were to be completed.
She has called for unity saying the PF party will only win the elections if it unites and works as a team.
“We the leadership of PF in the Province have decided to support Mr Lungu’s candidature because he has shown to us that he is capable of moving the country and the party forward, it would only be fair to give him the support by all genuine PF members whose interest is not kill the party but see it succeed despite the misunderstandings”, Ms Mwale said.
Ms Mwale added that the PF leadership in the Province has decided to reconcile following the division which had rocked the members.The PF members who were joined by sympathisers sang songs of praise to Mr Lungu .

Lungu is right….all the country’s developmental programmes initiated from Chiluba’s MMD to Ruphia Banda is underway under the PF government. Of course the challenge maybe the pause at which progress is achieved, but again one should recognise the fact that we operate in a globe village such there could be other external compelling influencing factors beyond our abilities as a people.

What Edgar Lungu, has initiated, is integrity in Office .Clean politics and a Leader who rules by mandate agreed with his cabinet and approved by the people. What we have already begun to enjoy is having a balanced man at the helm. Edgar Lungu has demonstrated his ability of Calmness under Pressure. What is clear is he needs to be a good butcher to remove disruptive factions with their own agendas. Edgar Lungu is the best thing for PF,he will raise PF’s image with his Statesman image. Edgar Lungu is for honest politics. His statement on the 2 year period is honest. The people of Zambia can trust him. His statement about false opposition party campaign promises is accurately observed. Edgar demonstrated his ability to work with stakeholders on the draft constitution document which he released in less than 90 fabled days. He is a good butcher, he removed negative people and groups. Observations on how Scott et al treated him have led to highlighting failures in Party Constitutions leading to internal power fights spilling out to endanger Zambia. This insight God gave through Edgar now means ALL parties must remove or clarify clauses in their constitutions. Judicial rulings in last days must lead to better conduct in future. We have Edgar Lungu to thank.

Any one who wants to rule Zambia next month should pledge to CONTINUE the infrastructure project Sata started as they made him a darling of many rural people : across the tribal bridge. The Bottom road in Tonga land is being done. The Kalabo road in Lozi land is being done. etc. People done need change for the unknown when they can see something at window level – and you are talking about changing course!! Even HH needs to equivocally come out and support / pledge to complete the projects initiated in Muchinga by Sata if he wants to rule this country. We don’t need chaps who are bent on derailing gvt programmes due to envy. Choma is a beneficiary and nothing wrong with it. Why should it be wrong in Chinsali??? In fact like it or not Zambia owes Chinsali its independence. Fact!!!

If UPND wins still some chancers from PF will leave and join HH with hope of riding in a jalopi with a flag mounted on it. The last time I saw EL on news during the laying of wreath he seemed sick, if not he may have been high on some substance because he clearly missed a step after turning around. Lets wait and see. This Lungu is not being fair. He has hardly answered anything. How can he say he is not aware of the student problems with regards to bed space, the stage of the constitution and he is not party to the decision to increase the retirement age? Really, Lungu is not being serious or fair to his master Mr Sata. This is because it was Mr Sata who started the process of reversing the retirement age from 55 to 65 years, after noting that his govt was getting broke and it could no longer sustain the retirement package or bill. In other words this Lungu is saying his master was in the wrong on this matter.
“……Opposition leaders can only continue where Sata left…..”, Lungu. Well said Edgar, well said. Just as Sata could only inherit or continue where RB left. Therefore the best man for the job is RB to continue where he left before Sata hijacked his programmes. Only RB had the true vision when he planned these development programmes, which Sata copied and claimed to be his vision. Sata’s only “vision” was to rule Zambia before he died, which is a wish and not a vision.
