RECONCILIATORY TALKS WITH RB BOGUS

Media reports that a reconciliatory meeting initiated by the International Institute of Democracy and Conflict Resolutions between MMD President and presidential candidate Dr Nevers Sekwila Mumba and former President Rupiah Banda failed between Dr Mumba shunned the meeting cannot go with a comment.

We feel compelled to issue this statement in order to set the record straight and stop a deliberate campaign aimed at discrediting Dr Mumba by painting him as a man who does not honour his word.

We believe this is another desperate attempt by people surrounding Mr Banda to continue to mislead him which is ending up embarrassing him.

For the record, Dr Mumba never agreed to attend the said meeting although in a phone conversation whilst he was outside the country, he did indicate that he would only commit himself to such a meeting after receiving a full briefing about its objectives.

Throughout his life, Dr Mumba has preached forgiveness and reconciliation and would be the last person to shun any genuine process towards resolving whatever disputes that may exist between individuals including himself and others.

We however wish to clarify that there are no major differences between Dr Mumba and Mr Banda. Dr Mumba has made it clear that he still holds Mr Banda in good esteem as his elder brother and predecessor and will not be part to anything whose end result will be deceit and hypocrisy.

It is therefore misleading that an impression is being created that Dr Mumba backed out of the meeting at short notice when the entire nation is aware that Dr Mumba was full engaged in the launch of his countrywide campaign tour beginning with the Kitwe rally.

We find the media reports sensational and another propaganda effort by Mr Banda’s team to force him into returning to active politics.

This manipulative, deceitful and sly way of doing things by the Banda team is shocking and unacceptable especially when one considers the fact that these are national matters with so much at stake.

We appeal to our colleagues working with Mr Banda to be honest and approach these issues with the seriousness they deserve.

Seeking public sympathy and support through deceit and crookedness is unacceptable and will merely end up embarrassing Mr Banda.

Our appeal to the former President is that he should open his eyes and check the people that surround him. These are the same men and women that led him into an embarrassing grand loss in 2011. We can safely guarantee him that these greedy people scratching his ego are again leading him into an even greater embarrassment.
These are people that do not even care about his reputation, his legacy and his wellbeing.

    • PF was buried on 11/11/14,
Lungu has no vision of his own,
      Sampa is miles away,
The only hope for Zambia is HH.
If you think Vodga Lungu is the right man then let’s have live TV debates to discuss their plans for Zambia
      Viva Flight HH2015

    • Mushota is disappointed that his preferred PF candidate has failed so he has resorted to insulting himself! Indeed Bakolwe basekana ifipato!

  1. Mushota, please be civil, difference in opinon does not mean you must insult us as a people. I doubt if you av ever been in school as you claim, DULL chap!

    • It’s you who is dull. Leave Mushota alone, she knows what she’s talking about.

It’s only a people like Zambians that can support voting Vodka for president. Wake up!

      we Zambians are dull!

  2. This is an embarrassing situation indeed. Old people we thought were level headed alas something else. Anyway, democracy brings with it uncouth situations sometimes. But it is always a moral issue. The way see this narrowing my eyes gives me this answer:
    1. RB standing on MMD= Reducing people’s support for HH -UPND.
    2. This then means: MMD- NEVERS losing election due to divided patronage and
    3. UPND -HH losing election due to RB taking some people to support his weaker side MMD -RB PARTY.
    4. PF -Edgar Lungu benefiting from RB acts of defiance to remain with a little bit above sizeable patronage that will marshal it to state house.
    5. Fact that father(MMD) and Son (UPND) are both pulling their supporters in different direction.
What remains of the pie-chart? Edgar takes larger…

  3. In short or indirectly, RB has a calculated mathematics whether conscious or not supporting PF. Obvious if he supported UPND-HH , the party UPND would have benefited from RB support and possibly taken the day out of PF. Alas, PF should be thanking RB FOR THE SUPPORT because himself RB cannot win an election in this era. On the other side, it is a blessing for Nevers to work harder in 2016. This period appear for PF. tougher CONTEST is yet to come in 2016. RB is merely removing shame on Nevers if he loses as excuse would lie and end at RB and his confusions. God works in mysterious ways.

    • A stÛpid man is far more dangerous than an atomic bomb. A wise man fears not the weapons of mass destruction but the stÛpid men operating those weapons. Stûpidity is worse than a nuclear weapon. Stûpidity is worse than all the weapons on earth put together. Stûpidity is the main reason why some of us lock our doors and sometimes place short guns beside our beds. Stûpidity is the main reason why some of us live in fear, “what a wise man/woman sees while sitting, a child or a fôôlish man/woman can never see even if he the child or the fôôlish man/woman climbs the tallest mountain in the universe”.

  4. Zambians will still be crying for their constitution beyond 2016 if they elect
a president who will be seeking re-election in 2016. This 18 month
transition period must be used wisely. It can be the dawn for a new
generation of leaders. On the other hand, Zambians can condemn their
country to a wasteful and unproductive 18 months of politicking. This is not
a time for power struggles. It is the time to Instal a transitional president,
one who will not be burdened by demands of seeking re-election in a short
period of less than 2 years. This is a rare opportunity for Zambia to start
    afresh. Vote RB

  5. Dr. Mumba you are insane and a very bad person. Why can you not just work with RB, he will step aside in 2016 if elected. The country needs him – no time for experiments NafutiNafutiRB

  6. Zambians need to note that this is just a by election and the president from this election will be facing another election in less than 2 years. A transitional president like RB is the best the country can have. Otherwise people will be fatigued with elections and 2016 will register massive apathy. Also, Zambia could waste a whole 2 years in political campaigns at the expense of development. Think twice

  7. We have carefully considered the current challenges of the nation and come to the conclusion that, the nation:

    Is in turmoil;
    Is too divided;
    Has lost its international credibility;
    Its citizens have lost their pride as Zambians;
Governance has broken down; and that
Economic fundamentals have been weakened and the resilience of the economy compromised.
We have also noticed that personal interests of a few have replaced national interests thus posing serious danger to the welfare of society.

    We need a Transitional President
    We Need RB!
He has no reason to manipulate because this will be his final term. RB will deliver a people driven constitution

    – Stability
    – Economic Growth
    – Unity

RB_ Safe hands to Lead us through 2015
    Vote Wisely – Vote RB

  8. Tasha, you right
We has Citizens have also noticed that personal interests of a few have replaced national interests thus posing serious danger to the welfare of society.

In this period, one year six months we need need a person who

-Will not need to start learning the job of a President; nor

    – Have added distractions of concentrating on making oneself marketable for the 2016 general elections; nor

    – Be forced to make grand economic promises they may not fulfill in such a short period of time.

I applaud RB’s comeback, but I can understand why some people are scared – he actually presents a real threat to win the election.

    RB FOR PRESIDENT
My Family and i are rallying behind this Great Leader, he as done it before he can surely do it again. #RB FOR STABILITY #EXPERIENCE

  9. Vote for Rupiah Bwezani Banda he will lead us safely to the next general election in 2016. He
will concentrate on development and not re election like HH or Lungu. Vote wisely and vote RB nafuti nafuti

  10. Vasco hasnt got any special qualitiy to be put back in office. He was given 3 years by Zambians and proved to be incompetent and was rejected

  11. Flight HH2015 is still in the runway…

    Opponents still in disarray

They will be more shocked if not chocked when it jets off with resounding rallies

    HH2015 Aleisa Aleisa

  12. Time for Rupiah Banda is now. He was doing fine, had an economic agenda of development that was bringing good results, huge forex reserves, jobs, bumper crops and so on. He shall takeover to bring the growth agenda forward, grow Fr, Bwalya or anybody who is willing to join hands with him to take over from him 2 years time. RB for development. RB for growth. RB for jobs. RB for law and order. RB for sanity. RB for rule of law. RB for vision.

  13. RB is the right man here these other guys will spend the entire 2015 campaigning FOR the 2016 election if they are elected while if RB wins it will be his last term thus he has nothing to lose…vote wisely, vote RB

  14. Agreed with you brother. You have spoken for majority who had reasonably priced mealie meal, food security due to farmers friendly flow of fertilisers, timely purchasing of bumper harvest, jobs and peace and stability. RB for 2015 to bring back development train back on track.

  15. Nevers should fire Nakachinda, he is misleading him. While PF guys are reconciling, Nakachinda still thinks it is fashionable to throw mad at RB? For what? Let Nakachinda get it in his thick skull that Nevers cannot win the January 20th elections even with a ten foot pole! And if he thinks HH will make Nevers Vice if he wins the elections come 20th January, then he has another think coming. HH is promising all and sundry the VP top post including their own Mutati. The others on the list include Milupi, Masheke, Maureen, Chituwo, Lungwangwa. Unfortunately Dr. Banda and Kapita ( the current VPs in UPND) both do not qualify because they lost parliamentary elections. A VP in Zambia is a member of parliament but not one who lost in the current seating. So HH is using this as a leverage.
