Government has launched the self-service kiosks for integrated government services which will incorporate a one-stop shop for a broad range of government services.

The project is a digitally-enabled one-stop shop offering integrated services through selected central locations which are easily accessible to different user-groups across the country.

The services to be provided will include both transactional and informational services such as business registration, road tax, driving license and motor vehicle registration plus visa and work permit application among others.

The Project will be implemented by ZAMPOST in collaboration with designated agencies with funding from the Private Sector Development Reforms Programme (PSDRP).

Government through ZAMPOST awarded Elisa Corporation of Finland a contract at a total cost of Euro 736,644.00 to procure consultancy services to support the delivery of integrated government services.

Three sites in Lusaka, Ndola and Kitwe post offices each have so far been set up under phase one.

Secretary to Cabinet Roland Msiska said the project will enable people in rural area access services without travelling to provincial centres and expressed optimism that the Finish Company will deliver quality services.

And Finish Ambassador to Zambia Timo Olkkonen said Elisa Corporation will use the expertise and experience in technology advancement to ensure that Zambia get quality service through the project.

He said Zambia is one of the major beneficiaries of aid from Finland saying the integrated government services will put Zambia on the path to cement its economic growth through efficient service provision.

Vice President of Elisa Corporation Risto Ojanpera, Postmaster General Mcpherson Chanda and Private Sector Development Reform Program Coordinator Kayula Siame attended the official launch at Cabinet office.

    • DUAL SHITZENSHIP FOR WHAT? YOU CRY ABOUT SOMETHING WITH NO IDEA OF IT’S SOCIAL AND ECONOMICAL IMPLICATIONS. UK WITH AND USA WITH ALL THE MONEY CRY LARGELY DUE TO IMMIGRATION PROBLEMS AND YOU ARE INVITING THE SAME PROBLEM. I CAN COMPILE A LIST OF COUNTRIES WITH NO DUAL CITIZENSHIP THAT HAVE ECONOMICALLY AND INDUSTRIALLY ADVANCED- MALAYSIA AND SOUTH KOREAN AMONGST THEM. AND THOSE WITH DUAL CITIZENSHIP THAT HAVEN’T ADVANCED OR JUST A NEGLIGIBLE MOVE. GHANA AND SIERRA LEONE, AND MOST OF CARRIBEAN AND AFRICAN COUNTRIES. IT ISN’T DUAL SHITZENSHIP THAT IS GOING TO DEVELOP ZAMBIA BUT HARD WORK BACKED UP BY GOOD INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT POLICIES, ETC. ZAMBIA HASN’T GOT THE ECONOMIES OF SCALE TO MANAGE IMMIGRATION INFLUX WHEN THE GATES ARE OPEN FOR ALL. HAS BOTSWANA DUAL CITIZENSHIP?

    • If you want dual citizenship, start by obtaining the U.S citizenship. The chances of you getting the U.S citizenship are 0.

  1. Sounds helpful and handy. Now I need to work on being procured as a consultant for something. Good money involved…

  2. On my wish list of services to be provided by these kiosks is the ability of any citizen to report a corrupt government official, policeman or any public figure.

  3. I commend government for this huge direction for citizens. We just have to ensure it is operational and improving year to year. One thing needful is to ensure the service is corruption-free that is one way of having more money in the pocket because what could have gone to a bribe to move my papers is intact in my pocket and I can still buy food for my children in Kalingalinga for example!

    • A ZAMBIAN IN CANADA THINKS DEEPER AND BETTER THAN A ZAMBIAN IN THE US OF A @#1 NUBIAN PRINCESS. THINK TWICE IF YOU THINK DUAL CITIZENSHIP WILL DEVELOP ZAMBIA.

  4. 1. It took 6 months to process ownership transfer of a house from the seller to the buyer at Lusaka City Council. The excuse given was that a type writer had broken down. When pressure was applied through ACC, the transfer was done within a day!

    2. ZESCO has not supplied power to a new house for over 2 years after receiving payment. The delay is because Lusaka province has been dilly-dallying to re-do a survey in a particular location in Lusaka. Payments for the re-survey were made in 2012 at the Regional Lands Dept near Godfrey house. Our neighbouring houses were supplied with power without that requirement. We are now entering 2015 and we have been told that the re-survey has been deferred again! That is Zambian civil service for you. But these guys report daily and get paid!!

  5. Please establish a hot line where corrupt activities can be reported, free of charge. This is an exercise in futility.Money wasted, hope it was not another loan.
