Patriotic Front Secretary General Davis Chama has dismissed new Rainbow Party President Wynter Kabimba’s assertion that the ruling party is a violent party.

Reacting to Mr Kabimba’s statement during the launch of his party yesterday that he left the Patriotic Front because of the violence in the party, Mr Chama says Mr. Kabimba failed to tame the cadres during his time as PF secretary general.

He points out that it was during Mr Kabimba’s time as PF Secretary General that the ruling party lost one of its members during a by-election in Livingstone.

Mr Chama has since advised Mr. Kabimba to concentrate on his newly formed Rainbow party.

Meanwhile, ruling Patriotic Front (PF) national chairperson Inonge Wina expressed surprise to that former party Secretary General Wynter Kabimba has formed his own party and taken a swipe at a party his once presided over.

Asked to comment on assertions by Mr. Kabimba that the indiscipline in the PF was as a result of failed leadership, Ms. Wina laughed before saying she was taken aback by that statement.

She however said she could comment on the matter later as she had just arrived in Lusaka and has no enough information.

And the United Party for National Development (UPND) declined to comment on the formation of Mr. Kabimba’s party.

UPND Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa said his party was tired of commenting on the same drama all the time.

Mr. Mweetwa however stated that his party is not threatened with the formation of a new party saying the UPND is confident of forming the next government.

  1. Davis Chama, that is not enough reason why WK should not comment on PF violence and lack of respect for the rule of law in your party.

  2. Maybe you should ask him to qualify ‘violent party’. Is it the pangas in the air voting style or do y’all beat each other up daily to get your own way? WK has first hand knowledge of bullying and took quite a public whipping from you lot too. Chuckle.

  3. Can Davis Chama puts more effort in controlling treason minded members of his own party instead of commenting on others?

  4. ….Kabimba was better off joining Farmers Union and later strive to contest its presidency……Rainbow party…??…just from the name, one cane see that it is a well designed and decorated expensive ‘rocket’ which soon upon firing, instead of heading to the sky, it ‘parabolates’ to earth….

  5. Ba Davis Chama so called SG, please spare us the drama. you’re leaving in denial that PF is a violent party. actually to be fair to your party, even UNIP’s vigilantes and MMD’s Chiluba/Sata/RB were equally violent. what we need is to address this violence in parties. if we vote for UPND and they do the same, we will eqully toss them out of the window. all zambians yearn for a day when we will fight with words not pangas and land grabbing that has become a norm in Zambia. this scourge started in MMD and has been escalated with PF. we need to put a full stop to this cadre violence irrespective of which party you belong to but what i have noticed is that cadres just change from the losing party to the winning party and continue engaging in violence. UPND make sure you deal with this come…

  6. Very misguided blame on Kabimba. Kabimba managed to galvanise cadres and those who never followed were chacked out. It is like afer Kabimba himself was chacked out by SATA, it became free for all. Even those who were on disciplinery charges were brought back into the main arena, NO WNDER THERE WAS JUBILATION WHEN NEWS WENT ROUND THAT KABIMBA WAS NO LONGER SG FOR THE PARTY. EVEN people like KAMBWILI were part of those jubilating. This just shows how disciplinerian KABIMBA was to the party. CHAMA need to KNOW MORE about who KABIMBA IS. Kabimba is a good membership mobilser and he is a good READER OF THE TREND of EVENTS. NEVER underestimate Kabimba’s capacities. Becoming a president, well I do not know about that one, even MP ship. What I know the fellow is arogant and may not hold a…

  7. Rainbow party is what the gay people use in all their parades. The rainbow flag is what symbolises gay rights and freedom. Good luck Wynter Kabimba and your followers.
