The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) has observed the need for ruling Patriotic Front (PF) President Edgar Lungu to take stock of the people that surround him if healing is to take place in the ruling party now that the reconciliation have been achieved.

Governance advisor Isaac Mwanza says his of organization is of the view that Mr. Lungu who is also Defence and Justice Minister needs to particularly take stock of members that are alleged to have been fueling differences in the ruling party.

Mr. Mwanza has told Qfm News in an interview that much as YALI is happy to see the ruling PF resolve its differences outside court, it holds the position that if Mr. Lungu understands what it means to stand by the continuity and vision of late President Michael Sata, he needs to understand that all those who Mr . Sata had disassociated with have come back to his side and that there can only be one reason for this.

He says YALI thinks that this could be purely out of benefits they will accrue once he is elected republican president the reason why they are now campaigning for him.

The YALI Governance advisor has since called upon Mr. Lungu to begin thinking with young people.

He says his organization we would like to see more youths included in the decision making and setting of national priorities if the ruling PF is to be given a new mandate to complete late President Sata’s term of office.

And Zambian Voice Executive Director Chilufya Tayali who has described the reconciliation that has taken place in ruling PF as long overdue has noted the need for the ruling party to desist from abusing public resources in its 2015 presidential election campaigns.

Mr. Tayali says his organization hopes that the ruling PF will stick to acting President Guy Scott’s position which recently indicated that he would not be manipulated into using public resources in party campaigns.
He has told QFM news in a separate interview that Zambian Voice is thus urging Dr. Scott to remain principled and maintain his position.

The Zambian Voice Executive Director states that his organization would like to see the ruling party campaign on an even ground with other political parties by using its own resources as opposed to abusing public resources.

  1. Mr. Tayali which planet do you belong to? The whole purpose of the reconciliaion is to misuse govt resources.

    Spare me the ignorance.

    • We should be encouraging politicians to reconcile and co-exist regardless of their past. This is the way to go and congrats! True leadership is anchored on a spirit of give and take in line with a spirit of forgiveness and renewal. There got to be a time when national interest has to take precedence over personal ambitions. Remember, there is no permanent enemy in life more especially in politics. On this move i can say they have come out as magnanimous minds. As a matter of fact, ruling party sets the pace and tone. Reconciliation at the top will trickle well at the bottom of the pyramid in the rank and file of the party and the nation. Let the nation catch up this new dawn. There is no winner or loser but an assured Zambia in tranquility. Big up PF! Freely compete.

    • We are a growing democracy. Let’s go go go! All the best to mother Zambia. May a true patriot reign for the good of Zambia. Glad common sense has finally prevailed. EL has turned out to be people’s choice with the masses in the PF base. Give him chance to sell himself and galvanize his candidacy with voters and peers alike across all political divides too. We need a competitive race we can choose from.

A free, stable and united growing Zambia is good for all of us to thrive in with our businesses and vocation.

      Blessings to all candidates!

    • @Pretty

Since you’re so informed and thereby not ignorant, can you tell us what evidence you have that suggests the purpose of the reconciliation is for the purpose of abusing gov’t funds?

There is something ridiculous about your stand. Your UPND Party, when challenged to say where they got thir campaign funds; declined flatout, stating rather alarmingly, ..”THERE IS NO LAW REQUIRING UPND TO DO SO!”

You maybe not ignorant but you are most certainly a Hypocrite. We all know it’s all Freemason money from flung places; meaning if HH ever enters State House, we will have those very Funds you are spouting about compromised into some international cult finance system.

You guys don’t have clean hands either, so spare us the phoney concerns.

    • There are bad eggs surrounding Kaminamisa Lungu such as Willie Nsanda(with no formal education but is RDA board chair), ka Emmanuel Mwamba-tossed around from province to province then finally sacked by Sata, Fr. Frank “ishilu” Bwalya – who recently was red carding the PF government now turned friend, Chishimba Kambwili who not so long ago as calling Lungu all sorts of names. These are seasonal friends who will turn on you when things turn sour, so be careful.

    • PF is EVIL, they think I will forget how expensive it is to buy basic needs, the violence from their cadres, weak Kwacha and all bad things because they have done a road a pay more to travel on?

    • For now PF, needs to concentrate on catching up on the campaign. Clean up after elections.

As Christmas is upon us, let us take some time to reflect on each other and perhaps spread some Christmas cheer to the Poor.

What I’d like to see is a combined Party effort to go out to the poor and spread some hope. Our politicians should go out to the poor on appointed days, taking some time out of their schedules to show care to the poor. Perhaps gov’t can pay off all farmers and distribute free mealie meal to areas where poverty is worst.

I ask all Zambians to step off your comfort thrones and spread some Love and Reconciliation this Christmas.

  3. We, the electorate have already taken stock. And will continue to take stock.
Everyday. In the morning sun and the evening shadows. The internet opened our eyes, we cannot unsee what we have already seen.

  4. Patriot Abroad

Just start getting ready for the inaugural ceremony.
Just upon successfully filing in his nomination…Edgar is now the 6th President of Zambia. January 20 is just for formalities

2015 Edgar has just won the elections

    I thank you

  5. To Mr EdgarLungu. I congratulate you for having fought the cartel of Mmembe, Mahtani and Scott with all you had. Ndiwe munalume weni weni. However you have tons of work to do in your party after January 20th if you will win. You will need to work on your constitution quickly so that never again will you have one person hold the party to ransom as Guy Scott did. Reduce the number of the Central Committee to something manageable. Tame the cadres no matter how much they will help you to win these elections. Make cabinet and government more representative and not just from one region. You will win kudos for this. In short make sweeping changes and truly you will go down in history as munalume ngao ngao. After January 20th, you will not owe any individual anything but only the Zambian people.

  6. I hope the idea of the so called reconciliation is not to use Guy Scott and dump him later because its a fact that EL needs GLS for support

    • That is my worry too. Without Scott, Lungu lacks credibility. I agree with the sentiments raised in the article. Lungu has surrounded himself with some unsavory characters who just there to benefit. He shouldn’t think they are genuinely on his side. I think he will be manipulated.

  7. IT IS AMAZING HOW PEOPLE WHO CLAIM TO BE CHRISTIANS BEHAVE. WHEN THE TWO LEADERS WERE DIFFERING, PEOPLE URGED THEM TO RECONCILE FOR THE SAKE OF MOTHER ZAMBIA’S PEACE AND STABILITY. NOW THAT THEY HAVE RECONCILED SOME PEOPLE ARE STILL NOT HAPPY. BEATS ME! ANYWAY TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR FORGIVING HEARTS SO THAT DOORS TO BLESSINGS WILL OPEN

    • Its amazing how some people think, we where praying for a re-union in the ruling party and it has happened, some people are sad! Hey wether you believe it or not, we ve started a new page. Its better this way. We ve become stronger and more focused. We ve learnt a lot from the experience. It was also an opportunity to know players. The bible says all things workout for good to those love the Lord…..

  8. You think the cartel has been defeated? wait and see how they will eat Edgar Chakolwa from the inside. before he realises, they will be laughing at him in the opposition. Guy Scott already let the mouse out. Let Lungu catch it.

  9. HH is surrounded by corrupt and drug lords, like Katele Kalumba, V Mwanga, Maureen Mwanawasa, Felix Mutati etc……………………

  10. The so called reconciliation is just a smoke screen. We are aware what the plan is. These are very vicious ugly beasts in Pf like nsanda and luo and chungu etc who think they can have their way. The wind of change is blowing. Scott is very smart. He is in it in body only. His heart is far. By the way, why cant pf campaign without scott? What r they afraid of? My advice to Scott is, “KEEP YOUR CREDIBILITY INTACT”. Be a fair referee.

  11. The only change I propose is that Nsanda should continue to back Lungu but he should dress like a civilized mentor and not a kaponya. Remove those dark shades. They are spoiling the background. This is serious advise from a PF sympathizer.
