Acting President Guy Scott has said Zambians have remained united despite political differences that stem from different ideologies.

Dr. Scott said this this is how it should be.

He thanked Zambians for maintaining peace and urged them to continue fostering unity.

Dr. Scott was speaking when he addressed people who welcomed him at the Mongu airport this morning.

And Dr. Scott has urged Zambians to maintain the Patriotic Front (PF) in government by voting for Edgar Lungu.

He cited Mongu-Kalabo road, the Senanga-Sesheke road and the Shang’ombo Bridge as some of the projects which government is undertaking in Western province.

He said massive infrastructure development achieved so far in the last three the PF has been in power were evidence of its commitment to develop Zambia.

And speaking earlier, Mongu Central Member of Parliament (MP) Nathanial Mubukwanu said Dr. Scott’s visit to the province would help consolidate and strengthen unity among people in the region.

Mr. Mubukwanu, who is also North-western Province Minister, said government was undertaking a lot of projects in key sectors of the economy such as education, health, agriculture and infrastructure.

The Acting President will later hold private talks with the Litunga and the members of the joint provincial operations committee.

He is scheduled to inspect development projects in Mongu and Kaoma districts before returning to Lusaka.
He is accompanied to the province by his wife Charlotte, Local Government Minister Emmanuel Chenda, PF Secretary General Davis Chama and other senior government and party officials.

  1. Ba lusakatimes someone is feared dead there and you can’t report on that, what good is the so called infrasture development when first it’s our own money they are using, second we in debt and left with a bad economy, third innocent people are dying at the hands of your so called party and you don’t want to report on their misdeeds I would rather have peace and stability than structures, we shouldn’t be promoting violent party to terrorize us Zambia is all we have. We should allow this kind of violence and hatred

    • @Big C.. tel us who is dead and how and if you have evidence of the people responsible, please be a responsible citizen by jetting into one of the DEC or police offices to report the matter… this is a very wrong platform for such..

    • @Big C,@ Abana Bamfumu

WORRY NOT GOD will control the Situation.
LT had put tht article BUT within 5Mins they removed it, the underlying REASON is what I dont know. BUT I BELIEV its to avoid MAGNIFYING ‘VIOLENT STORIES’.

Get the WORDS OF SCOTT he said ‘Zambians ve been PEACEFUL’ he knows what had HAPPENED few minutes before he landed. It will be BAD IF THE PERSON will die. ZWD said ‘feared dead’. If he has died SOTT will issue a STATEMENT unless otherwise.

    • If indeed the report is true then it is tragic and will require an immediate statement from Guy, after all he is on the ground…

Nice chitenge, Mrs Scott. I don’t like the garish coloured type with large faces of men you don’t really want to wrap around any body.

    • I read that story on Watchdog, but took it with a bagfull of salt. UPND has been strong in Western Province. HH travels with his security team, there are his supporters on the ground, airport is a restricted area, how on earth a PF cadre walk in and injure UPND supporter? Something is very fishy here. It just does not add up.

    • I made a call and it is now clarified that it did happen and big guys are involved. Sorry for earlier doubting comments.

    • I have just seen the pictures and also listened to Mr HH on a video clip. In the first instance, I wish the gentleman who was attacked God’s healing hands. Coming to the reported incident and reactions, I have some opinions to share; the police appear to have failed operationally, they could have managed the situation better by ensuring that the UPND and PF supporters do not meet at the airport – although under 1 picture, it is possible that they were under alot of pressure to let Mr HH and his entourage proceed. In the case of the supporters of both parties, it appears that all but 1 person were not violent and they should be commended; what drove this particular person to violence should be addressed by the courts – there is no report of a fight breaking out; they might know each other?

    • Where is the crowd waiting for PF ‘s Guy’s Scott in mongu.

Is PF going to tell LT to photo shop again like it for Sata and Lungu in Northern province?

    • HE THANKED ZAMBIANS FOR MAINTAINING PEACE.
WHAT ABOUT YOUR PF WHICH IS SPECIAL AND NOT ZAMBIAN AND IS VIOLENT GENETICAL AS EVIDENCED IN TODAYS MONGU VIOLENCE WHERE A PF CADRE ASAULTED HIS NAME SAKE OR MAY BE REALATIVE FROM UPND.

  2. story izibika, northern, luapula, muchinga, eastern, copperbelt and central and some parts of wesyern. the rest is for HH

    • @Impako you are right

HH has worked had this time around. In all Provinces he has been accepted. I ve just liked the guy. He has worked extremly fine the REASON Kambwili is crying tht HH has take Copperbelt by Storm. EL anoka !!!.

      #FLIGHTHH2015 HAPPY JUBILEE ZAMBIA.

  3. Mr Guy Scott is unique in so many ways; we have moved from the era of the KK Safari suit; satorial elegance of FTJ; the Mwanawasa suits; the RB business suits; Sata Chinese jackets; to the wake up and pick trousers and jacket from the wardrobe era of Mr Scott; I will wear whatever I want. I like this man!!

    • You have made me laugh with the description of Scit’s outfit! The clothes are the limit. Who has ever seen a president wearing brown and black! The shoes, my goodness! Awe!

  4. I find it very difficulty to follow the some blogs. You don’t stick to the topic at hand. the topic is Scott urges Zambians to remain united as in jets into Mongu. how is dying of a person come in.

  5. What projects? One poorly done road can not convince me to vote for you. Three years is long enough and you should have done better than this. Things will worsen if pf stays on. Mwa lizoho fela!
