Share

CONSTRUCTION of the 650 health posts at a cost of over US$50 million across the country will be completed on schedule next year, Ministry of Health permanent secretary Davy Chikamata has said.

Dr Chikamata said in an interview yesterday that progress on the project, which is mainly financed through a loan from India with additional financing from the Zambian government, is progressing well.

“Works on the 650 health posts projects that are under construction countrywide and were launched on 2014 will be completed next year as scheduled,” he said in an interview.

Dr Chikamata said that in 2013, the Ministry of Health signed contracts with three companies for construction of the 650 health posts.

  1. Funny, so many useless projects. UPND will make modern structures, please forget the nonsense, HH will let the country know the way forward on the 22nd.

    • A clinic is a very important infrastructure and it is not useless. When people fall sick in rural areas they are forced to travel long distances to access medical facilities. If you think a clinic is useless then your thinking is wrapped and you need to go to a clinic for a check up!!
Clinics and under the ministry of Health and Farmers are paid by ministry of Agriculture. These two ministries have their own budget allocations and i t is wrong for anyone to say “pay the farmers first before you construct clinics..”Stop thinking like kids and grow up!!

  2. Carrs kwena ulicipuba sana ninshi iwe kubutonga takwaba abekala ku mushi pantu naiwe eko wakulila apapene watampile ukushitisha salaula yaba neghbour bobe paka market atasde you think I don’t know you. Health bane is very important whether tonga or luvale me I am luvale and I know that my people in Chavuma need a clinic although we have a pwerful chitokoloki hospital. Think before you utter anything. Health Centres are not politically affliated they are for everyone and anyone black red or white or even yellow

  3. What is the distribution of the so called health posts province by province? The reporting by LT is sometimes very poor. This article is very dry, it is just a campaign lie.
