Edgar Lungu and Vernon Mwaanga

Our Presidential Election has come and gone. This has been one of the most closely contested elections in the 50 year history of our country.

I wish to congratulate all the eleven candidates who took part. My special commendation is reserved for the UPND candidate Hakainde Hichilema and his PF counterpart Edgar Lungu for giving the just ended campaigns their all .

It is a unfortunate that there had to be one winner in the end , after what amounted to a statistical dead-heat. This is the painful aspect of democracy .

I congratulate Edgar Lungu for his narrow victory in an election, which could have gone the other way. Elections everywhere, divide families and friends, but let us remember that there were no enemies in this election, but mere opponents.

We are all Zambians and have a right to make our political choices. The challenges of our 6th President now that the election is done and dusted, is to heal reconcile and unite our deeply divided country and make our national motto of “one zambia, one nation” a reality once again. He should be seen to be a President of all Zambians , including those who did not vote for him in accordance with his oath of office.

There should be no retribution or vengeance. He should live up to his campaign promises and deliver a new Constitution in readiness for the 2016 tripartite elections, so that the country does not have to go through another election of this nature ever again . Our defective Constitution is responsible for what we have just gone through. It is not right to elect any President on such a low base of citizen approval and even the final draft constitution which was released last October, is far from being satisfactory.

There will be need for stakeholders to meet urgently to meet and genuinely consult and agree on some of the contentious clauses. Our electoral system is flawed and requires urgent reforms.

The UPND President Hakainde Hichilema demonstrated great maturity by being magnanimous in defeat, notwithstanding some serious problems he pointed out.

These are good leadership qualities, because he put the interests of Zambians above personal bitterness and disappointment pf losing such close election .

Leadership is about the supreme interests of our people and country. Zambia is bigger and greater than all of us. Painful and undesirable as this result may be, we should put our differences aside, move on and get on with our daily lives peacefully as we prepare for the 2016 General Elections.

Let us all commit ourselves to peaceful co-existence and declare “never, never and never again shall we allow a culture of violence, to become part of our national culture.

Dr Vernon J Mwaanga

  1. Well said VJ!!!they say if you cant beat them, then join them!!!CONGRATS JUBILEE PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU!!OUR VOTES COUNTED!!!IT FEELS GREAT VOTING FOR A WINNING TEAM THAN ON TRIBAL LINES LIKE TONGAS DID!!!GO PF GO!!we are waiting to defeat HH next year!!!he wont have it easy!!!

    • Cry baby HH, go suck Silvia Masebo’s teat!

Why can’t he just be civil and concede defeat without creating confusion. Through out the tallying process he was running to ECZ for cuddles. Lungu is the true leader who stayed calm and collected.

      HH is a farmer, period!

    • @Nubian..Sata used to deploy the same tactics when was leader of the opposition. They is something inherently wrong with our system of governance when people don’t trust the very institutions that are meant to serve the Zambian people. Elo its an African thing..u dont see opposition parties in the west questioning the results received. Why because they believe in the independence and objectiveness of their institutions. We need to make our institutions very powerful and independent instead of vesting those powers in a few individuals.

    • @pretty. Where are you. Am guessing just like every other UPND cadre, you have either changed ur user name or bolted to the ZWD that speaks the UPND language. infinitude in Lungu

    • Just a magnanimous democrat Zambia has ever had. Way to Go uncle VJ! You are showing the country of generations how its done by patriots.

    • You are the one who is a tribalist. I’m a bemba was there need to single out the tonga’s you’re just exposing your tribal behaviour. If the people down south though HH was the best. I don’t blame them. HH was a good candidate. An economics graduate and an economic manager. He had plans to take us forward. PF will just finish this country there is nothing they are doing. Mmd performed better.

    • Unlike Haha Haha who thrives on regional politics, VJ is different. Had VJ taken a shot at the presidency he could have been on the list of former Zed presidents. It’s obvious that the run-ins he had with Kaunda affected his career. I’m told he is considered a sellout in his home region for not support ing their regional agenda. Keep it up VJ.

    • We had King Cobra I was very proud of him, actually I use it over here towards ba mwana mala yambi. EL, from this moment you’re now The Black Mamba, sting them to show we what you will with and make sure you finish Sata’s projects.

    • Witchcraft will start again. They will bewitch Lungu in pretending that he is already sick. They witched SATA, Mwanawasa and now they have started. Why can you just wait for time? You witch him then you said we said it that he is sick GOD forbid oh!!! Tongajuju! you will just finish people and always losing.

    • @Eddy,
Why do you have to be tribal all the time. Tongas are Zambians just like any other Zambian and we should love each other regardless of tribe. Are you going to insult every Tonga you meet on the street and work place simply because they are Tonga? Shame on you. Tell you what, I am proud of being a Tonga, and mainly a Zambian.

    • The Pain & Joy of Democracy.

Edgar your work starts today !!!

I guess RB will toast a bottle tonight for unleashing his money to support Lungu.

We may not like the result but we all have to accept the president elect.

What now for Masebo ” a Political Jumping Kangaroo “. Where is she going to jump to, and align herself.

Will she still hang around with HH or simply dump him, go back to Edgar and sweet talk him or take it further than that.. Mmmm

    • Why are you PF guys still talking about HH? Are you not happy that EL has won. I think you are worried by the number of people that have rejected you. Come 2016 your guys will cry. Kaunda cried when he lost to Chiluba, Banda cried when he lost to Sata, so who is gonna cry next ? Zambia needs a president of courage and wisdom, who can lose with honor and dignity for 4 times only to win on the fifth attempt. Viva HH.

    • ‘ The challenges of our 6th President now that the election is done and dusted, is to heal reconcile and unite our deeply divided country and make our national motto of “one zambia, one nation” a reality once again. He should be seen to be a President of all Zambians , including those who did not vote for him in accordance with his oath of office,’says VJ.

I wonder what he’d ve said had the outcome gone to his favoured.Yes, we’re ‘deeply divided’-and how much more so with the voting pattern in this man’s homeland. I reckon he also realises the damage to our motto would ve been tragic. Many right now ‘d like to believe EL’s victory is actually God’s rescue plan. Bravo Zambia!

    • THAT’S OUR JUBILEE PRESIDENT EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU. NOW WE WANT OUR JUBILEE AIRLINE, OUR JUBILEE RAIL SYSTEM AND OUR JUBILEE MORE. BRING BACK PROF CLIVE CHIRWA AND GET RID OF ATTANGA. ATTANGA HAS NO DREAMS FOR THE RAIL SYSTEM BUT PROF CHIRWA.

CONGRATULATIONS EL. IT SHOULD NOW BE RELATIVELY EASY TO GOVERN AS BAD EGGS RID THEMSELVES FROM PF.

    • I kinda get the feeling that Uncle V.J played ‘dontchi kubeba’ on this one. Tactics of a well trained agent. H.H, you tried but you got served…by your very friend.
UPND, you have tried. Take heart, your campaign period starts immediately after the end of the inauguration. The first step is to congratulate E.L, that will show true statesmanship. With a leap from 18% previously to over 40% today, 2016 could be yours. Try to shed the tribal tag too. One Zambia..

    • It is never easy, I congratulate PF campaign team , they managed to change the agenda from being issue based, I.e failure to pay farmers, free education, fired nurses, failure to deliver constitution, failure to put money into pockets failed 90 day promises TO regionalism , free masonism , tribalism and Tongaism. It is not only Tonga that are disgusted with PF nepotism in all facets of Government . All none northerners, none Luapula and none Muchinga are disgusted. The 46% who have given a vote of no confidence are Central, Lamba land, Western Northwestern and indeed part of Eastern where we won. Other northerners who fell for the hypocritical tribal tag but could not vote for PF simply stayed at home hence low northern turn up. So go ahead a gloat. PF belongs to u real tribalists

    • Thats the way. Lets all congratulate the winner – Edgar. I voted for HH this time around and I do not regret. I belong to the mind that give others tough times. Since I am a reformist I will maintain to check on those who talk on tribalism and vote against their wish . Congrats to UPND supporters who reduced this time around comenting on tribalism thus winning me to their side and if you. UPND is now a national party.

    • WE HAVE WON!!!! IT IS NOW OFFICIAL…ECZ ANNOUNCES 807,935 FOR EL AND 780,168 FOR HH SAME FIGURE CONFIRMED BY TIZ…

EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU IS THE 6TH PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA

      BA ZAMBIA WE LOVE YOU

      NOMBA NI EL2016

    • TUMBUKA LADY HEARTS OFF TO HHHHHH .
FEEL SORRY FOR YOU PIPO WHO ARE STILL YAPPING ABOUT HHHH,TO BE HONEST HHHHHHHH IS THE WINNER NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY.2016 IS AROUND THE CORNER AND

BREAKING NEWS BANE YOU WILL BE SHOCKED .THE CANDIDATE FOR 2016 FOR PF WILL BE HENRY BANDA BEING GROOMED TO TAKE OVER RB IN 2016

HENRY BANDA SON TO RB BANDA WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT
HENRY BANDA 2016 PRESIDENT THAT WAS ANOTHER DEAL AND PERSON RULING YOU IS RB NOT EDGAR .
PRAISES NOW COMING FROM THIS MONKEY OF A BABOON KAMBWILI WHO HAS PUT HIMSELF TO BE MINISTER OF HOME AFFAIRS ,DEFENCE CIKABOLALA CAMUPAMBA WHO THINKS HES SUPERIOR KANSHI LI FONTINI.SOME RIFF RAFS LIKE BENA KALABA AWE .
EDGAR WILL JUST BE A SHADOW PRESIDENT ,DEAL WAS STRUCK WAY BACK SO MWANVERA .

    • Choice of words is unfortunate. HH was not voted by Tonga related people alone. Infact, when all is said and done, and results are analysed, the Tonga vote will form only small, albeit important proportion of the vote he received across the country. We should be concerned that we have two countries (three if you include Barotseland that sided with HH) in this country. It will be an uphill battle to heal the relations and trust of the different stakeholders in each other, as perceptions in one part of the country of a devil sworn pact that only one of the two regions we clearly divided ourselves into in this election should enjoy the spoils of plot one. Eddy, your continued blanant tribalism makes a sham of the one Zambia, one Nation motto, which apparently you fall on when it best suits you

    • Congratulations EL, but ifwe tuli bakwa HH. Its yet another missed opportunity for zambia to be led by an economist for once. I hope ba Lungu balachita ifya mano. Zambians have spoken and we respect their decision. Ikona ukulila insala ati ubunga nabalunda!!!

    • Yes yes yes……… he is the jubilee Zambian president Ex. Hon Edgar C. Lungu, all the best

From your friends in Livingstone 2015

    • Dear country men and women, it is great the Lungu has taken the day and congratulations to him and the his team for the political battle well fought and won. For him and his supporters it is time you looked back and served the people and not the tribes of affiliation as was the case in the past.

  2. Well congratulations to Lungu the winning candidate. Some of you will know that I supported HH and have no regrets in as far as that is concerned. But we must now move on. Zambia is bigger than anyone one individual. And those of you saying these numbers were cooked perhaps you should advice HH to go to court. As it happens his content with the results just received. Moving forward I think we must all agree that we need a new constitution especially the 50 + mechanism as it will stop any candidate winning with small numbers.

  3. Well spoken Veteran. We need you to unite this deedply divided country whose divisions are being perpetrated by a few irrational characters thruogh social media. Its time to get back to work now. Enjoy the rest of your blessed life VJ. You are ano inspiration. PEACE.

  4. IWE Vernon why doing this to a thug who has stolen our votes anyway I shall remain Bantu-botatwe/Barotse activist not until I see a LOZI,LUVALE,KAONDE,TONGA in state house if not surely we have a pending fight for independence want or not we will do it.we shall conquer.

    • Owe…HH FLIGHT 20 1 5 has crash landed in katombola due to overloading….
Genuine or not, I like the smile…great statesmanship.

    • YOU WILL NEVER SEE A LOZI, TONGA, LUVALE OR KAONDE IN STATE HOUSE BECAUSE YOU ARE VERY DIVISIVE AND GOD AGAINST THIS SPIRIT. MARK MY WORDS, YOU ARE DEEPLY ROOTED IN TRIBALISM. YOUR TRIBE NEED TOTAL DELIVERANCE. TELL HH TO STOP ACCUSSING EVERYONE. WHY ARE YOU THE ONLY PARTY COMPLAINING. YOU STARTED BRINGING RIGGING ACCUSATIONS EVEN BEFORE BALLOTS WERE PRINTED.

    • Flight HH is unstoppable indeed. Due to overspending Flight HH which was carrying over 700000 passengers mostly from southern province of Zambia is reported to have bypassed Harry Mwanga Nkumbula Airport and plunged into the Victoria falls killing all passengers and pilots on board. Rescue divers from livingstone infantry airforce have only managed to recover the body of the assistant pilot who was identified by his dirty face due to ifimyefu. We will keep you updated as rescue divers are still searching for more bodies.

    • Haven’t you seen a LENJE in state house? Who was actually hand picked by a so called Bemba FTJ…

Broadly speaking Levy was Tonga. As Kambwili reminded the nation, Zambia has never had a pure Bemba for President :

      1. KK – of Malawian origins but brought up in Chinsali
      2. FTJ – Chishinga from Mwense
      3. Levy – Lenje/Lamba (Tonga)
      4. Banda – Ngoni of Chipata
      5. Sata – Bisa from Mpika
      6. To be, Lungu – Well known

So quit competing for your own, maybe their time is from number 10-20 who knows?

We’re all Zambians, in the end

    • This is SATA legacy. The entrenchment of Bemba supremacy. The Bembas have managed to deflect their tribalism by putting that tag on Tonga, I must congratulate them on this score because they have a very practical approach unlike the other tribes. They have a supremist agenda which they execute with extreme skill. It is the duty of us non Tonga UPND to reject this accusation. The only reason Tongas are targeted not Luvale or Lozi is because they are many. As evidenced in this election . Between now and 2016 I see PF courting the smaller groups in the name of national unity but strategically to remain dominant. Meanwhile RB will not be prosecuted how will EDGAR consult him from prison. With RB around Bembs might just lose. Some people celebrating will realise they lost too.

    • WE WILL SEE A LOZI IN STATE HOUSE SOON, MARK MY WORDS. AS FOR THE TONGAS I AM NOT SO SURE. THE COCKTAIL OF HH, VJ AND THE BELLY MAN APPEARS TO HAVE THE TONGAS IN.

    • I wish we could all take the looming tempest with the seriousness it deserves. This country is breaking down. And there is no harm in wanting to see all Zambia aspire and garner support for whichever national office without their tribe or region being a stumbling block to national acceptance. Failing to recognise the divisions in our country is planning for disaster

    • He is not politicking or looking for a job from EDGAR,. He is genuinely congratulating PF just as I am also genuinely congratulating you guys. You have played to your strengths and minimized your weaknesses. I think it will be harder to win in 2016 than now. My only hope is that Miles Sampa is too greedy to wait for 2026 or 2021 for his turn at the Presidency. Also looking forward to seeing who will be removed or lose influence to give too for RB or for RB to reclaim MMD from Nevers and stand on his own. Meanwhile IPND has to target the new voters since 2011 and all the 70% who did not vote. Also counting on EL MESSING UP. It will be interesting between now and 2016. UPND needs overwhelming support to defeat a cheating , thieving conniving PF

    • One ZAMBIA one Nation, let’s move forward, this is not a surprise to zambia we have always been voting for a change not for a better leadership. Levy Mwanawasa was the only one who did some work unfortunately his time was short he could have changed the country the rest niba nkusa, that’s why some of us tatwaka bwele kumushi mukonta umulilo nembwa. What do you expect from Edgar Lungu, with all his surrounds, full of pimps, this is just going to give more time for people like Willie Nsanda to steal more with the corrupt mindset.

  5. I’m a bemba and it is total nonsense that the people down south voted on tribal grounds. They voted for an intellectual who they believed would take this country forward. An economist by profession and a humble man. HH was a much better candidate than this lungu. All those who voted for HH did so because they are tired of suffering. Those who are accusing the southerners of being tribal are the ones who are tribalists. The true tribalists are the people who keep labeling the tonga’s tribalists. I’m sick and tired of their behavior. PF is not taking us anywhere. The kwacha will keep depreciating against major currencies. Important will continue to be expensive. Mines will keep threatening to pull out. There is nothing this PF govt is doing.

  6. HH wanted to steal the vote by his agents sending inflated figures from southern province.
This scenario will have a big impact in 2016 as people are saying they have taught how to note by southerners.
Remember they will be no apathy in 2016 so it will be whitewash.

    • Indeed southern province has taught the entire zambia how to vote and no one can argue about this truth. It’s clear how the bantu voted. Eye opener indeed. despite having structures PF ward officials could not vote for PF looking at some ward results in these area. Uuh imwe.

    • You are assuming the people who did not vote are not disgusted with PF. Only those benefiting from PF voted others may vote for opposition. You have too much faith in regional voting. There was blok voting in Western as well as NW.

  7. Unlike Haha Haha who thrives on regional politics, VJ is different. Had VJ taken a shot at the presidency he could have been on the list of former Zed presidents. It’s obvious that the run-ins he had with Kaunda affected his career. I’m told he is considered a sellout in his home region for not support ing their regional agenda. Keep it up VJ.

    • This is a lie. He would have been rejected. Today, we extoll the virtues of Mazoka (MHSRIP), but we rejected him in 2001. Typically, we say good things after one dies. VJ, like RB, is past running for presidency, and this is what endears him to us. HH is in his prime and a serious contender, and we hate him for that. We label him more bitter than Sata in 2006 and 2008 when he felt the election was stolen from him. Yet HH is Zambian and has the right to aspire to the presidency and be voted for by those who see potential in him, even when these are his relatives. No one labeled the Umozi Kumawa slogan of 1991 tribal.

  8. Minor correction to VJ’s take on HH’s ungracious attack on defeat…..HH was MAGNANIMOUSLY RUDE IN DEFEAT.

That said, VJ clearly is the Diplomat in the group, he can lie while insulting with his gestures and looks! Thank you for your gracious words on behalf of HH and UPND.

Congratulations, Your Excellency, President Edgar Lungu. We thank God for His Favour upon you and we shall do some good works to show Thankfulness this Sunday.

It is a wise person who always remembers to Lean on The Good Lord, for He reminds us, “MAN IS FICKLE, BUT I, YOUR GOD AM FAITHFUL ALWAYS.”

    GOD BLESSED, GOD FAVOURED
EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU RECEIVE YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS
NO MAN CAN TAKE WHAT GOD GIVES AND GRANTS
NOT BY DESIGN NOR HUMAN WIT

    GOD BLESS ZAMBIA
    GOD BLESS EVERY ZAMBIAN
    PEACE, LOVE TO…

    • @Enka, you are right but you know the problem these guys are the same. None of them is there to build the country. VJ has been there, he was only trying to support HH when he thought he was going to win, now that Kachasu has won, he goes back to congratulate him, the same person he talked rubbish about during campaign. You its up to us fellow zambians to wake up and start voting for a better candidate than these recycled politicians who are always running to who they think will win. Now you are going to hear that Katele Kalumba and his wife have joined PF. Bwafya kumwesu ku Zambia, one day we are going to have a Chinese president, it seems we can not rule ourselves, because we have refused to choose for a good leader, we keep on bringing the same Ragga Muffin, if Edgar had good intentions.

  9. Akashimi kapela nomba. Now let’s get back to work and move our country forward.

This time, everyone must put their shoulder to the wheel. Don’t just expect politicians to do everything for you. Lets get innovative and set up our own Zambian companies, grow our food, build our houses, roads and become pioneers of development in our cities.

    The future belongs to Africa!

    • @Nine Chale, you can say let’s move forward and build our country. Look who is in charge, those guys in power are not interested in that, they are good at putting it all in their pockets, until you and I wake up one day and say enough to this nonsense and vote wisely, first thing we need to do is move away from those politics of buy me a drink I will vote for you. Then we can vote for the right candidate. How on earth is Edgar Kachasu Lungu going to drive the country the right away when he is involved with people like chi Rupia Banda and the rest of those thieves. This guy, they have put him there to control him. They are going to use him to take more of what belongs to the innocent citizens. It’s a shame to those that have no access to their rights.

  10. VJ must just shut up, he is even the same chap who put into the UPND that there are rigging elections and he can come out smart with his charm. Thanks VJ but no thanks stay away from EL and PF. Why do we have so many hypocrites in Zambia. Today you call them all sorts of names and now just because they win you want to be with your words. Soon we will hearing these endorsers claiming EL is the best and whatever else only Jah knows.

  11. The Problem with my friend HH is that he is too egocentric, bossy, arrogant and pompous. He thinks that he is a highly qualified and better leader amongst all the presidential candidates in Zambia to salvage the economy and spur development. The way I understand the nature of the majority Zambians is that they value education so much but certainly it is not one of the first qualities they look for in our Plot One President, they want a President who is down-to-earth. Who speaks a Zambian Language and not a Tribal Language. Yes tribalism is there in all our political leaders but you should not think that your tribe is the best to run the affairs of the nation. Zambians are quick to discern such wrong thinking. Just look at the MPs in Southern Province they’re all Tongas. Not even Tembo?

    • What tribe one belongs to shouldn’t Be an issue but one’s competencies
And capacities. Tongas like bembas and all other tribes in Zambia never look down upon yourselves because of your tribe. No one chooses which region o tribe to be born, it is the choice of GOD. Great brains talk about ideas, average brains talk about events and shallow o stupid minds talk about people o tribes o region. Above all we are all zambians. So just like in southern, there is tonga mp in eastern province.

    • @Sharpshooter, it’s very sad to hear from you about how the qualification of making it to plot one is not about being educated. Yes I agree with you in some ways, but I totally disagree with you. Today we need a president with more knowledge on how to run the country, it may not be HH, I’m not tonga I’m Mambwe I can vote for anyone not by tribe between the two. HH could be better in some ways but they are one and the same, it’s politics. If HH was intelligent and wanted to change the country, he should have not allowed all those thieves that joined him to do that, how was he going to do better with people like VJ, Katele and GBM, these guys are thieves. Same with Edgar, what is he going to do with people like RB, Willie Nsanda and the rest. Dirt politics that’s all we have in zambia.

    • Iwe 13 Sharp shooter- What about MPs in Northern any Lozi or Luvale or Tonga. Guys this kind of statement is so tribal supremist it stinks. The only national language is English , we will speak Bemba or Nyanja when we want to. Thank God I have so many Bemba friends who can actually speak Tonga or Lozi . I can speak four languages Nyanja . Bemba, Lozi and Tonga. I can understand lamba KAONDE . Luvale and Lunda are a bit difficult for me but I wish I could speak them. Not like these Nazi and boer mentality tribal supremist in PF. Just like the Afrikaneers in SA tried to impose Afrikaans on the blacks there mission is to impose their preferred language. Stop singling out Tonga, everyone from Western , N/West, Central CB &Lusaka rural feels they do not have equal stake in Zambia

    • There is no need of rebranding, the formulae is working , if RB stood for this election HH would have won, UPND got more votes now than in 2011 in every single province and in total. This is s journey. The Boer “type”supremist inPF will never accept HH or any other person not from the PF lands. The task in UPND is to improve voter mobilization. We must do in the other ” occupied “provinces ,(western , NW,Central , lusaka and CB) what we did Southern. Get the voters , registered and get them to turn up. We are many but we don’t impose our selves. We need to improve our organizational capability. Target the 70% and newly registered .

  12. Good statement VJ, we certainly wish we could have as many men of such thinking even on the other side. Let Mr. E. Lungu get down to work, he has at his hands the job of unifying this great nation, we have seen the divisions widen during the past elections. He must know that The three years of just concentrating on building Muchinga Province should come to an end. We provide the money from North Western province and we benefit nothing from our copper money. But we see two universities built in one province. He must stop nepotism which was almost a policy of the past government the name of the infamous family forest. Which shamelessly filled all the important positions of the state. He must also know that we don’t want his cadres turning our streets into battle fronts with Pangas! We…

  13. So it’s done and dusted? HH conceded defeat at his press briefing but he should have been magnanimous enough to just concede without excuses. If HH thinks that the results were cooked in favour of PF that calls for serious investigations and recounting. But I suggest that we start with southern province, I am suspicious of the very high turn out there when everybody else was affected by bad weather or other logistics. Doesn’t it rain in southern province, one may ask?

  14. If only we had a leader in the shoes of VJ from the South or West, the rest of Zambians could vote for such a one. Unfortunately, as this forum has exposed the thought-process of our friends in these regions make it very hard for many to try to give a short “at one of us” from there.

  15. We have surely done it again elected another empty tin from the old man Sata’s group of “useless” cabinet minister and expect to move forward.

Wake up Zambians from your docility! !

    • At this rate, you guys will keep losing elections. It is quite clear you do not understand even the basic psychology of most Zambians. Come 2016 you will still be busy insulting while others are taking Zambia forward. Enjoy your empty rhetoric and pomposity, you losers!!

    • @Jay Jay, you are right I’m not for HH but if I had a chance I would vote for him, I followed his campaign and the things he talked about. But the problem is us Zambians, we would rather vote for an empty tin as long as he buys a beer in the bar then he is got the vote. It’s been happening in zambia for a long time, I wonder when this will come to an end. Maybe there are no men who can drive this country, we should try a woman, I’m not saying Ms Nawakwi don’t get me wrong, but I have one in mind.

  16. VJ cud sound disappointed bt with slight bias to EL perhaps not so much because HH’s lost bt more so becoz of the manner his tribesmen have voted. If it’s true that he detests tribalism as he claims then this seem to be the right time to show it as he has often done. The way our Southern coleagues have voted doesn’t send a gud signal for upnd and hh’s future election prospects.Rather it dents them by its apparent entrenchment of the ‘tribalism mark.’

  17. @ Pretty @ Mei Matungu @ Jessie wa mu Town

You guys this is not the end of every thing, plan for 2021

I want remainder you that I never travelled in vain, my vote has made a diference and my candidate has made it.

    • I strongly believe that HH is the best candidate and has the interest of the country at heart. He has worked extremely hard to spread his message of Hope and Help. HH is a workalcoholic.
Almost everyone was given a chance to listen to HH’s message but each voter made the ultimate choice (based on personal reasons) which contributed to seal the fate of all the Zambians. May the winning party have the heart for the poor and disadvantaged and for Zambia as a whole.
      God bless Zambia.
      Viva #TeamHH

  18. who can really unit this country? a bemba,a tonga,a ngoni,a kaonde,a lozi,a namwanga,a luvale…….the list goes upto 73 tribes. can we really be united? what will be th unifying factors? coz others say come wat may certain tribes should not RULE! yet as long as 1 or 2 or 3 tribes continue to rule then, then your guess is just as good as mine.

    • @Redeemed, once we stop that stupid thinking about tribe and unite as one then we can build the country, as long as some people like you are thinking of tribes, then we will keep on going backwards, the country has 72+ languages including Chinese and Indians who have dominated the land. We should stop this nonsense of tribes and get civilized, there are some tongas who voted for Edgar and there were some Edgar’s tribe mates who voted for HH. Let’s stop this madness and moves forwards, we are being laughed at, we have a beautiful country with so much richness, and we let people take it away. Let’s us reunite and get our minerals back from the hands of the so called investors. There is a lot of fellow zambians with money that can run the mines we don’t need to give the entire mines away.

  19. Drunkard-elect the president of illiterates and the poorest from bangweulu republic. At least am a true Zambian(Zambezian) not Luapulan claiming to be Zambians we have to start defending our land now from this poverty stricken tribe that have become nomads running away from Finkubala to find beef in our land.

    • Your anguish and bitterness is understandable! The winning team of ECL is already on the dancing floor ukuponona amasha bad! Meanwhile, Castle juice is flowing elo amaule nayo promised us free sex! What more?
Anyway enjoy your mourning and in case you want to try out ka sucide, i have a strong sisal rope in my backyard!

    • I think you are a bitter character who despite being a modern human being still thinks like an animal! Why do you have to drag Bemba’s into this rubbish? No one from the simple life of Bangueulu has ever stood for the elections. This has been Eastern Province vs Southern Province. But of course you have to blame someone you think is higher than you. Someone superior to you! It is the likes of you making HH seem tribal even if he has appealed to all Zambians. The day you start to perceive Bembas as equal and not superior to you that is the day you would be civilised.
HH is more popular that a single tribal. He is a national leader and I hope your kind will realise this.

  20. VJ since independence has always moved with his friends in choosing a party to support. I am surprised this time around he choose to go against his friends. He is therefore a loser in this election. His friends Chikwanda and RB went with Edgar but he went tribal this time against his better judgement. I hope he can redeem himself otherwise the ceremonial doctorate he got from Copperbelt university is misplaced.

    • So you are implying that his choice must always be in tandem with his friends? Why do you call it ‘choice’ then?

  21. I am disappointed with uluBemba for electing PF. First the dead thug at embassy park, Lungu as police minister, Luo as chief’s minister, balinya amafi kuluBemba, bashindila napa luBemba lonse fye, elyo kucha mupamba uluBemba lonse lwaima nokuyatomona PF’s ar.se. Ine napapa fye, nshishibe nomba uko tuleya.

  22. Are Zambians now fooling themselves.
All along in the past Lungu was said to me a muslim.
    You hated him.
now he is your president you are forgetting that he was a so called muslim and took money fron Boko harm
So wont Luhgu bring in sharia law,
Stone to death all the committing outside marriage sex.
Cut the hands of the pick pocketer.
    Welcome Mohammed Lungu as president.
Deal with the Zambians as they cursed you.
Lungu, get drunk and sort out your enemies once and for all

  23. @Redeemed
This country can only get united if either a Lozi,Luvale,Tonga, Kaonde becomes a president if not i can guarantee you that not even a slogan (ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION)coined to help poor tribe survive by getting resource from rich regions, will stop a revolution,it either a Lozi,Kaonde,Tonga ,Luvale as a president or dividing the country simple whatever it takes we are ready.

  24. HEAD LINES
    ——————-

Some folks will become obsolete as soon as these results are announced. All prostitute politicians who defected to other parties shouldn’t be allowed back onto the Ark. Let them carry on enjoying free rides on the crashing flight HH.

    • TDI

True we don’t need any more confusion in PF…..Let them stick with the fast forwarding party DNPU.

      I thank you

  25. It’s fine that the thieves have finally prevailed. what is clear is that tribalism is real in Zambia. Bemba speaking tribes and now the easteners do not want to see a Tonga in state house no matter how good they are. So for me action starts now – No bemba speaking ***** shall again benefit from my hard work. all my bemba speaking employees will be systematically fired in the coming few moths. let them benefit from their fellow thieves.

    • Bululu, campaigns are over. Just go home and leak your balls. You have been taught another lesson for your insolence and love of regional politics. Zambians aren’t “!d!ots” after all. They have their heads screwed on right.

You think by demonizing other tribes will win you votes? Get a grip loser. By the way, get back to your original pseudonym you coward!

  26. Funny, I feel more supportive of HH than before. He has been magnanimous in ‘defeat’ with such a ‘narrow’ margin. This is an election my PF colleagues assured me would be a walk over (it turned out to be anything but that!)
A lot of economic management testing in the offing as we move forward, so the electorate now have the luxury to wait and see how the challeneges for the farmers, students, medical workers and miners will be resolved in the next 20 months. Not forgeting the servicing of the two Eurobonds, accounting for the RDA contracts, and the vexing question of enacting a people-driven constitution.
Good luck to His Excellency Chagwa Lungu and we can’t wait to see the return of this hard-working Tonga man, a real fine crop of a Zambian in 2016.
    God bless the Republic:)

  27. According to information reaching us,it has been suggested that next time VJ will endorse Dr Mulyokela in the bid to make him the seventh presido

  28. VJ wants to be part of the winning team…..TEAM ZAMBIA

VJ…characteristics of a mature and seasoned Politician.

Non stop 2016 campaign boostele starts on Monday…

    Mozegeta…JK…Roberto….
General Ozzy joining the Katondo boys.

    I thank you. .ONE EDGAR

  29. Boers and Indians whom HH promised big contracts after winning by getting huge loans of millions of dollars want their money now as they have realised that HH has flopped again and feel they will just loose their monies. Dipack Patel has since gone into hiding. Wapya munzi.

  30. I think we need all to applaud HH for having tried to be Zambian president for the fourth time. There comes a time when one realizes that he has done his best and it is time to move on. For HH that time is now. But from his “concession speech” one can see that the man wants to give this presidency thing one more time in 2016. Good luck HH! Everyone knows that PF is a bemba party, even the langua franca there is bemba and everyone knows that UPND is a tonga party. Sata knew this and before he died he made sure he endorsed a non-bemba to lead it. He knew that it was going to be very tough to sell a bemba to the Zambian people in any election soon. Unfortunately HH did not see this but instead he and his henchmen choose him as a presidential candidate. A bad strategy. Sata’s Donchi Kubeba.

    • The man was intelligent mhsrip , he knew very well who was saleable but the so called educated same experiment for the same project.

  31. “It’s time for a Tonga to rule”

Who said these words and on what occasion?

Back in my school days we would get questions like this in special paper 1…

    ONE EDGAR

    I thank you

  32. It is amazing how all of sudden new pseudonyms have popped up on here. @Wanzelu, you have my respect for sticking to what you believe in. Though in my opinion your approach to politics is flawed, I still respect U for not being a coward. Unlike certain Neanderthals who like to post rubbish and then scamper when it gets rough. I can rattle off a list of cowards I have in mind, but getting to their level isn’t worth it.

That said, VJ is always a very rational politician although during this campaign he stayed little. He got caught up in the traditions of UPND—TRIBALISM. I would even venture to say Munkombwe also caught the TRIBALISM BUG by mere association. They say: “If you get in bed with DOGs you are bound to wake up with fleas.” Very unfortunate and regrettable indeed!

    • As for Edgar, he indeed has a huge task ahead of him to heal the Nation. But this should be left to EL/PF alone. HH and his UPND have the same responsibility and obligation to heal the tribal chasm they have mostly helped create in our country. These tribal divisions we seeing in our country precede Edgar Lungu. They go way back! So it can’t all be laid at the feet one EL to tackle.

UPND and HH should now start behaving like a Political Party with a national character and abandon their appetite for regional politics. This is the fourth time it has clearly been demonstrated that regional and tribal politics does not pay in Zambia. UPND leadership should now lead, and be seen to lead, on the issue of tribal politics they have helped take root in our national politics.

  33. CONGRATS TO THE PANGA FAMILY AND ITS CADRES.THE FEW WILL EAT THE PUBLIC RESOUCES AND LEAVE CRUMBS FOR THEIR CADRES MAKING NOISE ON THIS MEDIA.YOU HAVE STOLEN THE VOTES BUT SO WHAT.WHO GIVE THE **** ABOUT YOUR DRUNK SICK ASS CHOLA BOY FOR BEMBA CROOKS AND TRIBALISTS.VODKA AND THE FEW SURROUNDING HIM ARE THE WINNERS THE REST OF YOU HAVE JUST SATICIFIED YOUR EGOS YOU WILL BUY MEALIE MEAL JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE.NO VALUE ADDED TO YOUR ASSES.MEANWHILE PUT DOWN THE PANGAS AND STOP HACKING AND HARRASING PEOPLE BECAUSE WE WILL NOW START SHOOTING YOU BADASSES.BE WARNED.

  34. @ Katondo

EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU IS THE 6TH PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA

      BA ZAMBIA WE LOVE YOU

      NOMBA NI EL2016

  36. Well, I am a die hard UPND, but I congratulate our new Head of State H.E. Lungu. He has a lot of work indeed in healing the nation that is deeply divided.
His predecessor institutionalized tribalism and nepotism. Look at the diplomatic and civil services, the quasi Government organizations, the Defense and Security, its maily Bembas and family members from around Mpika and Chinsali. Let him appoint a ‘silent’ commission of enquiry to address this matter urgently.
Let Lungu distance himself or tame the tribal supremacists like Mumbi Phiri, Jean Kapata, Chishimba Kambwili. They were his tribal attack dogs in labeling all Tongas as political and tribal. This was deeply resented by non Bembas who saw themselves as future targets. These groups consequently voted for HH.
    I salute you EL!

  37. This Bantu Botatwe/ Barotse NAPPYHEAD is a nutter. Go and take a cold shower, maybe you might cool down.

Politics is a game just like football. I think voting for a drunkard is better that voting for you is unable to reason properly.

Wonder why LT tolerates your kind on this blog. You are like a poisonous snake.

  38. Sylvia Masebo kwena you insulted Lungu weee, may God forgive you before we do wee ! Ask for forgiveness Waumfwa ai, Naumfwaaaa !

You and GBM. Have really contributed to HH’ downfall mwamonawila line.

  39. Thats the language of a real statesman. Well said.\unfortunately what we are seeing is a poor generation of politicians coming to the fold as seen in the blogs against such a powerful national message
