The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has described President Edgar Lungu’s as very inspiring.

EFZ Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza notes that the President touched on a number of issues which are affecting the people of Zambia and need attention.
Reverend Mwanza notes that if the President meant what he said in his speech, then the country is headed in the right direction.

He points out that what was so exciting in the president’s speech is the promise to give the people of Zambia a people driven constitution, but that sadly he did not indicate the time frame for the enactment of the constitution.

Rev Mwanza says people need to know the time in which the new constitution may be given to them and not kept waiting in perpetuity.

He adds that the pledge to eradicate poverty as well as the issue of taxation is of utmost important at the moment and that the Zambian people are really looking forward to having these issues addressed.

Rev Mwanza says the people of Zambia are excited and expectant and have confidence that President Lungu will take the country forward.

He has further congratulated Mr. Lungu for becoming Zambia’s sixth republican president and has urged all well meaning Zambians to support and respect him for the betterment of the country.

  1. That’s my President !!

H.E Edgar Chagwa Lungu for peace, stability,Unity and prosperity

ONE ZAMBIA ! ONE ONE NATION !

    • EFZ, I cannot agree with you more. The President’s speech was just cogent. He gave out a very progressive vision with a high measure of reality any rational population could easily buy in. I feel as a country we are back on track for a national state progressive democracy order. I see a nation in healing, unity, development, transformation and peace uptake. We all in our small ways got the moral and constitutional responsibility start contributing towards this new order.

    • The speech was just exceptional. I found it emboldening my citizenry at best being conscious of my civic and constitutional rights. We should effective watchdogs that will keep this administration in the check against any form of excesses or departure from its mandate to realise common good. Never turn into cheerleaders at the expense the common man needing a voice. We expect transformations from a senior veteran lawyer now Republican President. Lawyers are usually effective reformists.

    • who are those i.diots wearing damn white wigs they inherited from the colonial masters. They look so ridiculous and these are our so called educated elites.I feel sorry for our people in alkebulan.
You can not be free if you cant practice your culture in all cases and all situations.
Our judiciary system should be modeled and based on our own local, cultural courts that solve disputes (Insaka etc).A real education would have taught us that we need to remodel not just our justice system, but our economic, social structural setups etc based on our own original ideas as we practiced before the arrival of the imperialists and arab slave traders. Nomba, imwe, your education tells you to copy what you learn in the western world and paste it on our people in zambia. No wonder we are failing!

    • the speaker of the house in the british parliament has stopped wearing those wigs, nomba imwe ba matibin lyonse when he is in the house ninshi nabafwala chi wig chilenunka nokununka!so when we see this then we shall kopela also and take off the wig.so we are always one step behind.thats the problem of copying systems!!! ati we are a democracy, everyone at the age of 18 has the right to vote etc.You didnt analyse how it would affect your electoral system. Are the people educated enough to understand the consequences of their vote? if not,do we have an educational system that ensures that most 18 year olds and above are educated in this. You cant copy and paste. Not every elder can go and appear pansaka unless they are summoned. Our african ways teach us this.why?they knew why they did this

    • This is expected in Africa and the poor masses will blindly get excited.

The hard truth is that the speech is just mere rhetoric if not backed by concrete targets that the electorate can evaluate and judge you by at the end of your term.

Give us your targets on unemplyment, poverty, kwacha exchange rate, number of manufacturing companies, then we will have confidence in you

    • What a hollow speech. No short, medium and long term goals outlined.

I expected him to out line briefly his goals and explain how and when they will be achieved.

In absence of HH ‘s messages Lungu will not say anyting waiting for HH to say something so he say “me too”.

He can copy all he wants off HH but he can not deliver because he lacks understanding.

    • Lungu moves corrupt elements to State House

      January 26, 2015 No Comments
Grand corruption has been taken to the centre of Government (State House) after the appointment of extremely corrupt individuals as State House officials.
President Edgar Lungu has appointed Kaizer Zulu as his special advisor for Political Affairs and Emmanuel Chilubanama as Permanent Secretary at State House.
Kaizer Zulu was retired in National Interest by Late President Michael Sata after recommendation from Office of the President Special Division. Zulu, according to the OP corruptly obtained favours from an Israel Company that won the tender to install a systems software at Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) called ZAMTIS. From the proceeds, Kaizer Zulu bought a fleet of trucks. When he was fired in…

    • My contribution to Rev Mwanza’s speech is that Constitution shall have the following provisions- Anybody to be declared a winner two conditions shall be met. Firstly, he shall get 50%+1 votes and secondly, he shall obtain 50% +1 votes in at least 50% of the Provinces. This will ensure that all provinces shall have equal say in election of a president and he shall win by majority in 5 out of 10 provinces to be a true representative of all.

  2. Breaking news, white VP dropped by new President.

When the sun rises in the east, sets in the west. When a
Man feel threatened, he acts with great urgency. Mr EL
Kachasu dropped Dr Guy Scott because he thought he
was a dentist. EL wants to maintain the same teeth.

  3. There was nothing to write home about in Lungu’s speech. It was too shallow and lacked substance. A few rhetorics were thrown here and there but no time set to whatever many who voted him into office thought he was saying. What are his goals and when is he going to achieve them?

Surely should it take him three days or four to name his new cabinet. Before finishing naming his cabinet he has included a UPND MP yet boast of being in the majority.
