THE High Court has granted five MMD members of Parliament and a councillor injunctions restraining the party from suspending or expelling.

In this matter six MMD members have asked the High Court to grant them interim injunctions restraining party national secretary Mwansa Mbulakulima from expelling them.

The six are MMD National chairman Kabinga Pande, Lunte MP Felix Mutati, Sinda MP Levy Ngoma, Rufunsa MP Kenneth Chipungu, Liuwa MP Situmbeko Musokotwane and Livingston City council councillor Matthews Jere.

High Court judge-in-charge Isaac Chali ordered and directed that an order of interim injunction restraining the defendants whether by himself from suspending and expelling the plaintiffs from being members of the MMD.

Justice Chali further made an order restraining the MMD from suspending, expelling or otherwise dismissing or alienating Mr Ngoma from the party.

He ordered that Mr Ngoma was not to be harassed or intimidated in any manner until the full determination of the matter.

Justice Chali added that the MMD was not to interfere with Mr Ngoma’s enjoyments and privileges of belonging to the MMD.

The six contended in statements of claim filed in the High Court that the meeting which convened to expel them was illegal and that its decision is null and void adding that they were not informed of the allegations levelled against them and that they were not given an opportunity to be heard.

    • @1.0 Ganja for sure this will reach 2016. A normal Zambian would not want by-elections at this time even the one in April of Chawama Consistuency its only that we ve NO OPTION.

      VIVA ZAMBIA VIVA UPND.

    • Yes, it will go up to general elections and the said MPs will stand on UPND tickets.
Nevers Mumba is beaten clean on this one.

    • I am not surprised ZAMTEL is broke, when it’s headed by a clown that enjoys to watch and listen to himself on TV instead of working….

    • I sm not for the idea of more bye elections but the real question is “since electiins are over, why are those MP’s still aligned with UPND instead of sorting out the wrong in their own party? To whom is their allegiance?”

    • The question is; why holding on to a party that you publicly dont support?
I am clearly lost here and this is truly a new “Political dispensation” in the making… and is beyond Political prostitution. “I belong to Party X on paper but I campaign for Party Y during elections??

  1. @1.0 Ganja for sure this will reach 2016. A normal Zambian would not want by-elections at this time even the one in April of Chawama Consistuency its only that we ve NO OPTION.

    VIVA ZAMBIA VIVA UPND.

  2. Nevers Mumba and group and just confused. They want to expel MPs who supported HH and leave out those who supported Edgar and PF.What message are they sending to the members, that it is right to break the rules and support PF but its wrong to support UPND.These tribalists amazes me.As I said yesterday,MMD has a future all we need is to change the leadership.

    • NERVERS MUMBA you have reduced MMD to a mere Branch party structure. Why are you selective? You must be described as a failed job seeker. Even God has turned a blind eye on you with your graveyard party. Tribalist.

    • @baami you miss tthe point here those that supported lungu had the audience with MMD leadership and we’re cleared unlike mutati(horse) and his group, that’s th difference..

  3. Wise determination. We have no time for petty issues now, we mean business and hard work for that matter. The constitution work out is the first preiority as for now, with the accompanying reversal of retirement age and wage freeze, or else the rest of us will change our minds for something bitter and not better. The confusion in MMD is causing instability of the country politically. Appointment of Kaingu by Lungu raises eyebrows. Be careful with Kaingu, you remember when he was actually restrained by his PS from exagerated expenditures on trip he made when he was Minister of Community dwevelopment and FIMOFIMO. These are hard core ………

  4. One of these Iscariots is from my village and if he thinks he will win on Upnd ticket, he will be shocked to death! We have vowed to teach him a lesson.

    • If there is such a thing as dribling then you will be dribbled again & again! You just lost! I used to love Upnd but changed after the man with an evil mask face took over. May someone else take over so that I can rekindle my love

    • You forget how tongaz are discriminated against for being Tonga. Check even yo cabinet. Some pipo don’t want others to speak their mother tongue but bemba and nyanja. The moment u speak Tonga, then u r tribalist. Voesak!

  5. LUNGU SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BORROW ANY MONEY FROM DONOR COUNTRIES OR INTERNATIONAL MONEY-LENDING INSTITUTIONS. THIS HUGE DEBT IMPOSED ON US IS HEAVY ON US. WE DON’T NEED ANY MORE BORROWING.

  6. Sure there are double standards being applied. MMD MPS who supported P.F have been left out why?

What about the Kaingus who supported F.P and have been rewarded with ministerial positions? Where is their loyalty.

As long as Nevers remain President of this party this is the end.

  7. HH is a very lovable person. Most pipo here who are speaking negatively abt are either ignorant or r just envious of him. That’s what pipo used to say abt Levy and yet became one of the best presidents if not the best. Do yourselves a favour. Visit the toilet.

  8. The fact is that Nevers Mumba has failed MMD the sooner they get rid of him the better before he completely sell them off to PF he has been seeing president Lungu the ***** is either looking for a job or getting cash. The man has no shame at all.

  9. This is now the end of MMD. I thought MMD was going to be stronger with the coming of Dr. Mumba and the helm but alas it is now a shell of the former.

  10. Lungu has no intentions to unite Zambia whatsoever. During his meetings, he advised Mumba to demonstrate his comradeship by expelling all those who reinforced UPND campaigns in exchange for ministerial positions for the others.

Imagine, he was at great pains to accept Kalyalya as best candidate for BOZ top job until he was reminded of who Denny is married to. SHAMEFUL!
