Republican President Edgar Lungu this afternoon left for Namibia to attend that country’s Jubilee celebrations and the inauguration ceremony for Namibia’s President-elect Hage Geingob.

The Head of State is accompanied by Fourth Republican President

Rupiah Banda and Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda.

Speaking to journalists shortly before taking off at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, President Lungu says Zambia shares a lot of things with Namibia.

President Lungu notes that without Zambia’s contributions, it would have taken much longer for the southern region to be liberated.

He says Zambia feels honored to be part of that country’s jubilee celebrations which will be held tomorrow in the capital Windhoek.

President Lungu, who left KK International Airport at 14:40 aboard the Presidential Challenger, recalls that Namibia sent representatives during Zambia’s Golden jubilee celebrations last year and during late Republican President Michael Sata’s funeral saying his presence there is therefore cardinal.

The Republican President was seen off by Vice President Inonge Wina,Justice Minister Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula, Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga, Health Minister Dr. Joseph Kasonde, State House Deputy Minister Mulenga Sata and other senior government and PF officials.

The Head of State is expected to return home tomorrow.

  1. I imagine ZWD will have to come up with another fabrication after exclusively revealing that President Lungu may not travel to Namibia due to ill health.
This ill-health issue is a story all Anti-Lungu campaigners want to hold on to but really they are just straws that will not hold.
Move on and start something else.
Well RB (taking over PF) maybe since he is also going with President Lungu.

    • I don’t see any fabrication here, the ZWD report said the president may not travel due to ill health. The key word here is ‘may’ which means either way it could happen and it is also a fact that the president is unwell.

    • When the ZWD said President Lungu may not travel to Namibia due to ill health, my understanding of the statement is that the chances of the President travelling are at 50%. No issues here.

    • Its a worry

Surely its a worry! “May not” is what they reported. Even you the worried one confessed that it is “may not” above.

In other words, may not is, kapena, not sure, un decided, 50~50 or half empty & half full! You worry too much @its a worry.

Sometimes learn to read & speak the truth, not just accusing the ZWD with your illusions. Wake up early from your sleep.

      The Skeleto

However, RB is wasting tax payers monies, especially when the kwacha has rotten & the economy too. The monies spent on RB can improve other things, such as paying farmers & retirees, if not channeling it to UTH. Moreover, RB has cases to answer in courts, but now Lungu is commercializing him after removing the former’s immunity bamambala!

  2. The London Eye and Jethro – please let us be honest, everything they write is with evil intents. Let’s not hide in semantics to defend wrong.

    • @Oboserver# Pointing out the obvious fact Lungu has been a sickler even before contesting the presidential electios is not “evil intent”
A few of us love Zambia so much and we are not going to play religion with the future of the country. God has given the citizens the mandate and ability to think and make proper choices. Unfortunately a majority of you are going to accept mediocrity from this Lungu and his pf

  5. I HOPE AND PRAY THAT HE WON’T COLLAPSE IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY AND IN THE EYES OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY…..

  6. @ 6.1 Skeleton / Kontinuation
So according to you, wishing the President dead is civil and mature language Zambians need to respect. I would like to tell your child that I wish you Skeleton dead and how she/he would react to that. Are you already dead since you are a skeleton?

    • @NIne# I won’t waste my time arguing with your juvenile and irrational behavior. Clearly your emotional and intellectual capacities are below average to begin with.

  7. the little fuel left is being used up by the president and his entourage…what is RBanda be doing whilst in Namibia?

  8. Lungu haters, your business should end on that front tail in between your legs. Let him rule however, he wants. He is in charge.

2016 we will vote for him nafuti. You can hang nga chakukalipa. Sick people as you always mock him deserve presidential previledges. You want him to queue up at chawama clinic when in fact voters want him alive.

Schopet! Leave the sick Lungu for us. He is the son of the land. We will do everything within our means to ensure he continues. God bless Lungu and family to shame the haters.
