Government has praised the Germany government for providing 8 million Euros for the rehabilitation and expansion of infrastructure at the Chalimbana Local Government Training Institute in Chongwe district.
Minister of Local Government and Housing John Phiri said part of the funds will go towards improving the various training programmes being offered at the institution.
Dr. Phiri said the rehabilitation and expansion project of infrastructure at the institution was expected to commence in few weeks’ time.
He has since pledged government’s total support to the rehabilitation and expansion of the infrastructure and the improvement of training programmes.
Dr. Phiri said this at the 17th graduation ceremony of 299 students from the Chalimbana Local Government Training Institute in Lusaka today.
And Dr. Phiri has challenged the graduates to prove their efficiency and effectiveness as they work in the various councils across the country.
He said government demands that good performance be rewarded as opposed to only qualification.
Dr. Phiri further cautioned the graduates against engaging in partisan politics.
That’s the way to go for the institute hoping no extra hands will use the funds for other unplanned activities.This will win donor support in future to help such old institutions.Bravo…………………….Chalimbana team………go………ahead.
Are we going to be begging forever? I want to hear stories that Zambia gave something, say, $100m to Neighbouring DR Congo in order to assist with civil war related issues. Then Zambia will starting getting real blessing.

The output is zero resulting in more poverty,because people are payed for doing nothing!,just for twalisambilila!!
