Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Kalusha Bwalya has expressed satisfaction with the proceedings of the Annual General Meeting which took place in Kabwe yesterday.

Bwalya noted that the meeting was held in a dignified manner which befits a gathering of intellectuals to chart the way forward.

This is contained in a press statement issued to ZANIS in Lusaka today by FAZ Communications Manager Nkweto Tembwe.

Nkweto said the Zambian football family yesterday converged in Kabwe to review the Association’s activities in the past year and also considered several agenda items, like the proposed change to the constitution as regards the qualification of a presidential candidate.

He added that when the proposed change was tabled for discussion councillors asked for more time to debate and suggested to the chairman for the motion not to be taken to a vote.

“Football remains the most democratic institution in the world, if the councillors think they need more time to debate, I as chairman of the meeting will comply with their request,” Kalusha said.

Meanwhile, speaking on the adoption of the financial report, Kalusha said his association would continue doing business transparently so that all stakeholders are alive to what is happening.

And Kalusha has called for unity and discipline in the Zambian football fraternity and the need for the football family to have respect for one another.

  1. Mr.man, your greatness on the pitch can never be taken away from you. But i only wish you had sense enough to see reason for your departure.no one is against you kalu, but i think it’s time you gave others chance to govern the wellfare of the soccer fraternity in this country. Let fresh ideas get tabled & implemented by those who who can run such a sensitive office, unlike your continued living under the illusion that you can run this administration just because you were good on the pitch.take heed.

    • You want Kalu for the sake of leaving, bukopo ubo mune. In England as a case in point, there is no maximun number of years Premier can run for elections. We need KALU all around. When did ISA HAYATU become CAF PRESIDENT? Njala ya mu nyokolani ati ni Kalusha alenga imwe ama mbala

  2. I don’t mind Great Kalu to be President for as long as he can, until he retires at 70 years old. The CAF constitution allows a President to continue until he is 65 years old. That is what Great Kalu wants to introduce and there is nothing wrong with that.

  3. Ask those who are close to him what he is all about. He needs to go his time is up best to leave when things are not that worse in the eyes of his foolish supporters.

  4. Zambia look to replace Honour Janza with foreign coach

    By Kennedy Gondwe
    BBC Sport, Lusaka
The Football Association of Zambia (Faz) confirmed they are looking for a foreign coach to replace Honour Janza who is currently at the helm.
Janza was appointed as Chipolopolo coach last August after the departure of Patrice Beaumelle.
He was in charge of Zambia at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea where the team suffered a first round elimination.
But Faz president Kalusha Bwalya said Janza will soon be replaced.

  5. We need progressive ideas Zambians….we can’t have a life president at FAZ.Success without a successor is failure.Let other people manage football, this is a public institution funded by the tax payers. The Zambian people through relevant wings of government and affiliated institutions should not allow this retrogressive agenda on the table.

  6. I saw Charles Musonda about two weeks ago in Kitwe. Could it be that he has come to take Chipolopolo job seeing that he is a qualified European coach and he sits on the main bench at Andelecht?

  7. Na kalu you were good during your time . Time has Come to leave for the next generation . Leave everything in good hands

  8. We need a local FAZ President not an absent President. Kalusha Bwalya lives in South Africa. He is not a patriotic Zambian.
