Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama says the ruling party is confident of scooping Tuesday’s Senga Hill parliamentary by-election.

Mr. Chama said PF has adequately sold its campaign message to the electorates and is confident that its candidate Kapembwa Simbao will emerge victorious in the poll.

He praised PF officials in Senga for a well-coordinated campaign trail ahead of the parliamentary by-election on Tuesday April 14, this year.

The Senga Hill parliamentary seat is being contested by PF’s Kapembwa Simbao and UPND’s Giles Yambayamba.

And Mr. Chama has disclosed that PF Central Committee will soon announce the names of people to oversee the party activities in Northern Province on an interim basis.

The PF Secretary General said the ruling party needs dedicated people who are willing to serve the interests of the party.

He said the decision to dissolve the party’s provincial executive committee was aimed at re-organizing the party in the area.

Mr. Chama expressed optimism that the ruling party will continue to maintain its popularity in Northern Province.

    • Exactly as I feared eddy! With campaign assistance of your likes who can’t let go of hate and envy but talk, think, eat, walk and, sleep tribal, you are encouraging the gullible voters to pit Simbao (PF – Lungu) against “tribal” HH (UPND). I pity Yambayamba should he lose the election for its not that he is not the better candidate but the electorate is being misguided with tribal campaign!

    • Crossing over to eat!!!

How do Ministers and GRZ senior officials become rich in record times should one day be investigated, analysed and reported. Clearly there must be a pot full of money secretly set aside for these people. What is the monthly salary of a Minister, Deputy Minister etc?? Above that the poor people of Zambia have to build mansions for former presidents both dead and living? What kind of thinking is this? This is in addition to former Presidents retaining 80% of the incumbent’s salary and conditions of serve!! Hey, this can only be a result of mockery and cruelty for the poor. And to add salt to injury, some former Presidents even defy the law to return to active politics and at the same time continue enjoying the benefits of retirement. Who can rescue Zed???

    • @OSUFISA…

What happened to Government planning? Are we saying the Government can only collect enough revenue to inject into development projects if the ruing party has enough politicians on its ticket?? Thought development is a function of good planning, resource mobilisation and judicious implementation of short and long term national, regional and district plans?? Thought this formula coupled with good corporate governance would accelerate development in any country.
With so many Ministers, Deputy Ministers and heaps of self-serving public servants chances of rapid development are zero. What say you economists?????

  1. PF party lost in january & they’ll loose in april again lets hope it wont take another 5days of fixing upnd’s outcomes….if pf was a football club it would’ve been man u…the club loved by referees & not the way they play football….upnd is a fine political party which have done so much in recent years….am happy now that even in northern & copperbelt provinces they keep on growing & make people like simbao & lungu with katambo run to show fitness aswell as dancing pelete….

  2. PF should make a permanent decision on the Northern Committee fast and give priority to the team in Mbala who have been campaigning since January using their own resources and have left families back in Lusaka. They have fully supported the party even in the verge of collapsing. Viva Chomba Chipili and your team.. Proud of you my mudala..

    • if the party in government has really worked, as you have suggested very ably, then nobody should have left his family in Lusaka kabili ninshi balicita campaign kale. But you and I know that the Senga Hill elections are a mockery to democracy, to integrity, to morality and and a hard slap in the face of the people on whose behalf the election of Simbao was petitioned in the first place

  4. Ba Kapembwa just wants to be a Minister, that is all. People who cause by-elections are costing Zambia development. Someone will tell you that by-elections are budgeted for. Whether budgeted for or not, the truth is that funds which could have been used for development are diverted to enabling one person to become Minister or Deputy Minister. In a country where the electorate knows better, persons who cause by-elections would not win an election. But in Zambia where voters behave like Grade 1 pupils, well, crossing the floor at the people’s expense, has become a way of seeking Ministerial positions when the sponsoring party fails to get into government for them to share our resources at the expense of the poor. What a country!!!! Go ahead and plunder, what can we do or say?
