Government says it is disappointed with opposition Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) President Charles Milupi sentiments that government is fooling the people of Western Province.

Chief Government Spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili says government is disappointed with the opposition leader’s sentiment that people in western province were being fooled as he was reported to have said in the Post newspapers.

ZANIS reports from Ndola that Mr. Kambwili observed in an interview in Ndola today that Mr. Milupi is scared because he has seen that government now is dominating the Western Province where he (Milupi) claims to be popular.

On Monday, April 27th, State House announced that Cabinet had approved the acquisition of US $14million from the OPEC Fund for International Development to improve water sanitation in 100 villages in 16 districts of Western Province.

However, ADD President reacted to the announcement by saying ‘it was ridiculous for President Lungu’s Cabinet to fool the people of Western Province that they will spend US$14million to provide water to 100 villages in Western Province’.

Luena Member of Parliament added that the Patriotic Front (PF) government has taken the country one step towards a failed state as evidenced by the nationwide power outage experienced on Monday.

However, the Chief Government Spokesperson added that there is no corruption involved in the US$14million signing meant to improve the livelihood of the poor people.

Mr. Kambwili further said Mr. Milupi should apologise to the Zambian people for making such a statement which would bring chaos to the nation.

He noted that Mr. Milupi has teamed up with a group that is calling upon the secession of Western Province and has become the spokesperson.

He has advised the Luena law maker to concentrate on organising his party than attacking government anyhow.

    • Milupi is a tribalist…..we haven’t forgotten how he campaigned on tribal lines by urging the people of Western,North-western and Southern province to vote for HH during the campaigns for the January 20th elections. If he wasn’t a tribalist he should have appealed to the whole provinces of Zambia to vote for HH rather than singling out only three provinces. Am appealing to the PF to ignore these tribalist and ensure that development is taken to all parts of the country regardless of who voted/did not vote for Edgar Lungu. One Zambia, One Nation & the president of that Nation is Edgar Lungu. #therewillbehaters

    • This is typical. The reason why western province has been left so behind is because sons and daughters of western province ( Rich Lozi people ) don’t like investing in western province. They all want to live in big cities showing off, claiming to have come from Royal Families.

Go to Munchinga, Northern Eastern and Southern provinces, you will fond rich people that originate from these areas or tribes investing and developing back home.

For example the Chipata Chamber of Commerce is always lobbying for investors. The same is in Kasama.

Even HH has done very good investing in southern province. You have to give it to HH.

So one is not shocked this coming from Milupi.

What has Mulupi done for the area, where his own people refused to vote for him?

      He is busy investing in…

    • Mulupi is busy investing in Malawi, pumping his money in Mineral Mines.

And he has the audacity to vomit this type of rubbish.

Him like the rest, will choke with bitterness.

    • @xFactor slow your roll! There are rich lozis in Barotseland. let us not hide the truth or generalise. In every tribe, land or nation there are people who do not invest where they come from not just lozis. I know a lot of lozi who have invested in the education & upliftment of their people. The govts of Kaunda, Chiluba, RB & Sata have all fought well meaning lozis who have tried to invest in Barotseland. e.g. Zambia Cashew, the idea behind Zambeef, Zusa Senanga, Ngulu Development fund and many, many projects have been fought and undermined. This country will only have true peace & unity if we have an equivalent of a TRUTH & RECONCILIATION commission in which we all air our views & feelings w/o bias & political blindness, as an initial basis for true progress.

    • Milupi is quoted as referring to people of Western Province, which is a region, but the debaters are referring to them as Lozis, a lingua associated with tribe, deliberately denigrating Milupi . Zambia is rapidly disintegrating into a tribal country.

    • You have to slow clap people like X-Factor. These are 1diots who believe their own trash. They feed on tribal stereotypes and then run around repeating the same trash as if it were true. Most of his type have never even set foot in Western Province but somehow they masquerade as experts with issues concerning that region.
The last time I looked most of the shop owners in that region are locals. The Zambeef abbatoir in that province is also exclusively supplied by locals. As for the trash about what Milupi has done for his village why don’t people who are raising this issue go and see for themselves. I am quite sure that if Milupi had been in government the same maggots would have accused him of stealing money to build his village and build a huge cattle ranch!

  1. KAMBWILI IS A WRONG MINISTER IN THAT MINISTRY.’AN EMPTY TIN MAKES NOISE.’DOES HE EXPECTS OPPOSITION LEADERS TO BE QUIET EVEN ON DAY LIGHT LIES? KAMBWILI COMMENT ON THE ECONOMY WHICH IS SHRINKING LIKE A LEAF CUT FROM THE TREE

    • KAMBWILI IS THE RIGHT MINISTWER IN THAT POSITION WHO CAN DEAL WILL WITH WRONG CAPS LIKE MILUPI WHO FOLLOW HH BLINDLY.

  2. Anyone believing that this PF govt will use the whole US$14million to provide water to 100 villages in Western Province must be a joker. Under Sata, it was Donchi kubeba hence whatever they did was not clear. Under Chagwa its Kolopa.com. Knowing enough that there days are numbered in power, they’re doing everything possible to steal (kolopa) in the name of contracting debt for national development. Just wait and see maybe we might judge them wrongly on this one

  3. On top of that can Hon Kambwili also tell us where the 150m$ loan from ADB will be used as far as I know we’ve to cater for 1200 villages now 140000$ per village

  4. Why do these ret4rds think that they are doing citizens a favor if they are using their money for projects. Zambia has sunk so low such that if a politician is given K100,000 for projects and we get K10 we jump and shout with glee because we are not used to seeing even a fraction. So, they take advantage of our civil laxity. How about we demand K100,010 for a change?

  5. Honestly, does Kambwili have to have an answer to all the opposition have to say? It is the role of the opposition to make comments on issues they do not appreciate or like. This man acts like we r in a one party sate. He is childish and like a markateer always wanting to quarell with everybody, excercise some restraint on your mouth and show some diplomacy Kambwili.

  6. Kambwili, address milupis concerns. Where on earth can it take 140 000 dollars to provide water in one village? Is it bottled water?

  7. Did Milupi succeed in presenting the vote of no confidence motion against Lungu or he was just seeking political mileage as in this water case? Some politicians speak not that they have a point to make but to remind us that they still exist.

    • Sinking a borehole in a village does not cost $140 000. It costs less than $20 000. Please address Milupi’s concerns. Don’t divert our attention to your !diotic assertions.

    • The truth is there is ONLY a thin line between desperation and insanity. We have a saying in the NAVY about ships lost- Those who lie in Atlantic sea are recalled by shrines, wreaths and poetry but those who lie in the Pacific sea lie forgotten for all eternity. Charles Milupi and his group are forgotten for all eternity in Zambian politics.

  8. Advice to Presido E.L…..In southern Province, you are being deceived by these DC’s by welcoming you at the airport.I feel sorry for you. These chaps are rainbow and you need to screen them. Most of them are Tuponya type and you need to identify people who are mature and have worked for the govt before. You have the OOP on your side and pliz do a good job before you finish yourself.

  9. I agree with you Justin. What is more worrying is the report by ZWD that RB is choosing DC’S,PS’s and Diplomats.Dr Msiska where are you? You are demotivating hard working Civil servants in Ministries and Provinces. This trend should come to an end before you lose votes in 2016.

  10. Iwe Milupi you are the son of western province, what have you done in your home village?ninshi utundalama twenu mutwala kwisa?mwatemwa fye kunwa fanta mu lsk ati we are from the royal family.set up something beneficial for the pipo where we can point at,not kusabaila fye ati nalikwata indalama.by the way who is your party VP and SG…….sela tubombeko

    • To sink a single borehole in a village does not cost $140 000. It costs less than $20 000. This is what Milupi is talking about. So please spare us your !diocy. You and your PF want to continue stealing public funds under the pretext of seleni tubombeko. It looks more like seleni twibeko!

$140m for 100 villages! My foot!

  11. Okay, whats the debate all about here? Oh, I see, the government is intending to sink boreholes in rural Werstern Province at a cost of $140m. Isnt that enough to actaully build a dam and a water processing plant so that the entire region can have access to clean running water in all house holds? Just thinking.

Anyway, there is a saying in my language thats loosely translated as follows: “When it thunders, it doesnt rain”. You get the point.

Maybe the govenment must just start sinking those boreholes instead of publicising for years and years. Dont worry, everyone will know when the boreholes are in place, no need making it a big deal.

Nevertheless, thanks government for remembering our Lozi brothers and sisters.

  12. Failed state over power failure? Uyu Chikaala nangu ali boss wandi is Phool with wasted education. Power failures affect even mighty countries like USA, RSA, India. In fact Zambia has done far better in the area of providing reliable power.

  13. Chishimba Kambwili looks like a japanese sumo wrestler and his friend Chagwa Wagwa looks like a cross country runner. Davies Chama looks like a wounded buffalo. Whatever you’ll give us in Barotseland, we shall accept it, but we shall not vote for Chagwa in 2016. Milupi and HH are our great leaders in Barotseland than Chagwa Alipona. People in Barotseland are clever like their ancestors in South Africa, Botswana and Lesotho. Kambwili came as a refuge from Congo. Ugly baby hippo the Sumo Wrestler.
