Zambia values ties with Kenya — President Lungu

President Edgar Lungu says the country values the trade and investment ties between Zambia and Kenya over the years.

President Lungu said trade ties between the two countries has continued to flourish due to the good and conducive investment policies in the two countries.

He said Zambia and Kenya should therefore continue engaging each other in exploring ways of expanding trade and other key areas.

The President said this last night during a state banquet he hosted in honour for his visiting Kenyan Counterpart President Uhuru Kenyatta who is on a two day State visit.

He said the signing of agreements yesterday on four areas which include Tourism, Agriculture, Police corporation and Gender will strengthen the long bonds of friendship and corporation that has existed between the two countries.

President Lungu also commended Kenyan government for its pivotal role towards combating terrorism and securing peace and stability in the entire East Africa region.

He stated that the two countries have continued to work together at both regional and global levels to promote common goals relating to peace, security and environmental protection among other issues.

And Kenyan President Kenyatta thanked his Zambian counterpart for his invitation to Zambia and for the good reception and hospitality accorded to him and his delegation during the visit.

President Kenyatta said his visit to Zambia will enhance the warm bilateral relations that existed from pre-colonial time and the economic corporation between the two countries.

He pledged to partner with Zambia to fight the struggle for economic freedom in an effort to eradicate poverty for the betterment of the people from the two countries.

  1. Lets now wait to see the implementation of what you have jointly signed. Uhuru should also invite president Lungu for a state visit in Kenya. It seems they have a lot to share as vibrant young leaders unlike our previous old colonial mentality presidents. Ooh what a hospitality from our Zambian partners! Thank you.

  2. god-fearing couple in New Brighton South Africa are now the subject of investigation after the frozen remains of four unidentified babies were found in their fridges. A house maid made the gruesome finds on Saturday while working at the residence of the unnamed couple and alerted the police.

  3. Very positive to value ties with other Africans.Most Africans wrongly value their relations with outsiders than with fellow Africans and often visit and trade more with non Africans.That needs to change.
