Power take command of FAZ Super Division

Share

Power Dynamos are the new leaders of the FAZ Super Division after a 1-0 home win over Red Arrows at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

The Kitwe giants move from 3rd place to top on 30 points, one more than 2nd placed Zanaco and Zesco United who are tied on 29 points.

Power goal came in the 7th minute when Luka Lungu headed in a cross from Crispin Mulenga.

Arrows though stepped up the pressure and Joshua Titima kept out George Mandu’s free kick in the 22nd minute while Lubinda Mundia fired his close range shot in the 38th minute high.

Power had a great opportunity to extend their lead in the 51st minute but Arrows goalkeeper Ken Mumba collected Christopher Munthali ‘s side-footed shot off a Kelvin Mubanga free kick.

Titima then denied striker Festus Mbewe in the 55th minute but in the end Power held on to record a critical result ahead of Thursday’s showdown against Zesco at the same venue.
