  1. I believe the ammunition Coach phiri has been given is great to conquer and demolish Congo. But, do not underrate them because they are capable of pulling a surprise as they did when they pushed two quick goals in the 3-2 they lost. Viva Chipolopolo, get these three points, and come Chad, South Africa, demolish them and prepare for the finals in Ghana. Go Chipolopolo, we are all behind you!!

  2. This looks like a good line up to me and iam confident Zambia will grab the three points to remain three points behind SA for they shall surely roll over Chad.

  3. Even from afar we are behind the team. Go Zambia and show your prowes as the champions of both East, Central and Southern African football. Very Soon we shall conquor West and North Africa.

  4. Wishing the lads all the best.Lusaka Times may you do us a favour by doing an online minute by minute coverage or update of this game.Come on Bloggers help us out.

  5. Why is Kalaba in the team,he is a lightweight and won’t add anything to the Team. The tough and huge Congolese midfielders will at any point push him from the ball. And what is Mbesuma doing in the Team, rubbish coach. Remember no stone throwing when we get clobbered. With such a team Zambia won’t win, and by the way the pressure is on Zambia as it South Africa and not Congo who are the group leaders. IN football anything can happen and I can smell a rat right now. This game will either be a draw or Congo will for the first time beat Zed, that is my feeling

  6. The time can do it for mother Zambia. My slight worry is in defence but I think with the home crowd on our side, we will roll over Congo.Mighty Chipolopolo, grant as our wish by whipping these devils.

Justice from Denmark (Diaspora), what is it with you and zambian soccer? You are always negative and it you alone who knows the source of your negativity. My bro, learn to contribute positively. I hope you are not a victim of the inferiority complex (that anything zambian is good for nothing that befall most zambians when they migrate.

Support your team because where ever you may be, your blood will always be zambian (You can run but you can not hide)

And stop saying that Katongo will no make it in Denmark. He can tell you that he will because he is dedicated to work and further the Danish league is not one of the best in Europe as seen by the number of teams from there who make it to uefa champions league group stage.

    Keep your negativity to yourself.

  7. Mr. Kemps Mwape Mwelwa you do not how frustrated I have been and for many many years. Zambian football is my life, but it beats that we despite having been a Power house in African Soccer, we have never won the African nor been to the World Cup. I have followed Zambian football since the 70’s young man, and I can see we have reached the bottom unless we change the way of doing things.

As for Katongo I have never and will never make it in Denmark (see my postings). He is the most positive player to come out of Zambia soccer. I watched him Vs Silkeborg IF, the team in my home town, he is great.

As for Danish football Mr. Kemps for your record, FC Copenhagen were in the Champions league and reached the group stage. They were in the same group with Manchaster UTD, Celtic of Skotland and Benfica of Portugal. FC Copenhagen even beat Man UTD 1-0 in Copenhagen. Odense were Miti and Tembo played reached the group stage of The UEAF Cup MR.

  8. Kemps: Danish Football is advanced and any promising player can use it as a springboard to Big teams. Katongs club Brøndby IF is one of the biggest and well organised clubs in Skandinavia. Katongo will make it and i know that, Miti came for trails at this club and failed. I can see Katongo playing in the UK or Germany after next season (very discplined and a good representative of Zambian Soccer)
Kemps I am not a blind support who supports his team even when things are wrong. Never I call a spade a spade. The current National Team can not match any of the past teams and that is where the problems lies. Most people who have followed Zed soccer have what we call “a yard stick” past National Teams, from which they can measure standards of the current Team. The fact is we are not progressing but retrogressing as a matter af fact. But for chaps like you, u do not want to look at things the way they are. Kemps read between the lines. We have to do things right CHAPWA

  9. Mr. kemps even Peter Schmihceal, once voted The worlds best Goalkeeper, Michael and Brian Luadrup once played for Brøndby before moving. Peter played for Man Utd, Michael for Juventus, Barcelona and Real madrid, Brian for Bayern Munich, Fiorentina, AC Milan, Glasgow Rangers and Chealse. When do we see a Zambian player as a star at one of these clubs. Some Zambian players are a disappointment. Playing in Malasyia and China, it is better to be play in South Africa

  10. I am expecting a goal from Katongo and maybe Mbesuma will do the same

  11. Justice you go on about your story but the fact of matter is that it will not take negativity to develop Zambian soccer. That is my point. If Zambian soccer is your blood then support and if it is not then leave it alone.

There is always a positive way of calling a spade as spade. But for your own information Danish soccer is yet to join the cream de la cream of European leagues that is why even Katongo must work hard to enter more competitive leagues in Euope for the good of Zambian football.

It is difficult to see a Zambian in those clubs you have mentioned because our football’s business side is poorly developed but with a bit of money and correct minds, we can easily have our playes in those teams.

One thing you can never take away from Zambian players is talent and if this talent is nurtured we can go a long way.

About Katongo, I remember, you saying “he started with a bang but had faded and that his club has recalled a striker from Cologne Germany to take over”

  12. Justice, do not become emotional and call me “chaps like you”. This is not personal but a healthy conversation.

We need to look a the holistic picture that has led to the soccer malaise in our country rather than pile scorn on individual players like Mbesuma.

Our game does not have the right people and money to put among the best even in Africa sand it will be.

In case you emotions are taking over my simple point is that the Danish league is better than the Zambian league but not among the best in Europe that is why even Peter Schmichaeland others had to leave and play for better leagues in the UK.

And never, did I ever say that the present team is better than the past. I am an ardent suppoter of Zambian soccer since the time of Kapambwe Mulenga, Jack Chanda, Jerich Shinde, Ben Bamfuchile,Kalusha, Fighton Simukonda, Laban Chishala, Derby Mankinka, Stone Nyirenda, Michael Chabala, Bizwell Phiri, Wisdom Chansa etc but the current lads need our support for the sake of Zambia

  13. For today’s game, I wish the boys all the best. Go Zambia Go and bring glory to mother Zambia.

You should be able to succeed despite the current adversity

  14. Kemps mwa ichi I can see elo waisa pa stage. Anyway the important thing here is not to argue without. I am of the view that Zed soccer needs people who are honesty. I really feel sorry with the the way our beloved game is run. Conflicts within FAZ, kemps ask my Zambian girlfriend, I cry at times cause I do not understand what the hell is wrong with Zambian soccer. Mwaiche u know what, now I have a tatoo with a Zambian flag on my arm. Ngolia left me a copper colored jersey and I still have it. I LO000VE THE ZAMBIAN NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM no mistake, nor doubt.

  15. Do not cry everything can be corrected if we work together. Anyway thanks for the encounter. God bless

  16. Here is an up date on Zambia -Congo game. Jacob Mulenga has scored for Zambia from A Collins Mbesuma cross. It is 1-0. The game was delayed for some few mins due late arrivals of match officials. Go Zambia!

  17. South Africa is leading Chad by 3-0 at half time.Senegal has drawn 1-1 with little Tanzania while the super eagles are leading Uganda 1-0 in Kampala and Namibia are leading Libya 1-0, while Angola has drawn with Eriteria 1-1. I will keep you posted on these matches.

  18. Bafana Bafana has scored to make it 4-0 while Uganda Cranes have scored to level with Nigeria 1-1. Zambia is stil 1-0 in the lead at half time.Rwanda is leading Equaltorial Guinea 1-0 in Kigali.

  19. Zambia has gone up 2-0 after a lone gaol by the Congo Defender after pressure from Zambia.10 man Uganda has beaten the Super Eagles 2-1 and South Africa won Libya 4-0.Rwanda is now 2-0 against E.G.

  20. Good job Kelvin we need people like you on the blog.keep us informed. A good line up any way,but what a skeletone Sub.

  21. I stil doubt the midfield. Because frankly speaking,Mark Sinyangwe(Jet Li) is not a natural midfielder,he is a left back defender. There is need to call Isaac Chansa. Go zed Go,we are all behind you guys!

  22. South Africa goes top of the table with 10pts,Zambia 7,Congo 5 and Chad 0. The next fiture will be a tricky one for South Africa in Congo but Zambia welcomes the weeping boys Chad which will give Zambia free 3 pts to level with South Africa 10pts that is if they are beaten in Congo.I predict that the decider who qulifies to Ghana will be in South African with Zambia. We lost points from the very begining by losing 1-0 in Lusaka to South Africa and and that draw in Congo shall cost us a place at the CAN 2008.

  23. Kelvin I agree with u though I have to say that South Africa will not win in Congo, that I am sure about. The issue is that Zambia is capable of beating South Africa at their home ground, I have no doubt about that at all. Zambia to the African Cup. SA lort

    Europe:
Iceland in the lead 1-0 (still playing)
Poland down 1-0 (still playing )
Finland down 0-1 to Serbia (still playing)
Wales 0-1 Vs Tjekkie Republic (final score)

  24. Denmark Vs Sweden 20:00 hours. We are now warming up with “Tuborg” the worlds finest beer. Lelo tu le kolwa bad news, Zed win and DK win. Twala tombo lelo

  25. Kemps, I am now OK cause Zambia has won. More friendly games to the lads will do. Now I can smile, more Zambian players in Europe Ze goodu……….. Cheers

  26. Denmark down 1-3, half time now, former Brædby player Elmander (now playing in France 2 goals). Daniel Agger former Brøndby(now Liverpool has scored for Denmark) My town is silent

  27. BBC reported that Zambia ‘s second goal was an own goal by the Congolese but ZNBC has comfirmed that Zambia second goal was scored by Chris Katongo while Mbesuma ‘s goal was disallowed for off side. Go Zambia!!
