Pande calls for unity in MMD

MMD vice national chairperson Kabinga Pande has called for unity in the MMD as it continues to lead the nation.

Mr Pande who is also tourism minister says disunity in the ruling party would be
disunity in the nation as a whole because the MMD is national in character and
representation.

Mr Pande wasa speaking during the MMD provincial membership card renewal at Rocky
gardens in Lusaka today.

He said the recent victory in Kapoche parliamentary by-election in Petauke is an
indication that the ruling party’s popularity in the country.

Mr Pande said the good policies of the MMD has made the party strong and popular.

He noted that the country has recorded more foreign investment during the six years
of the New Deal government.

The minister attributed the continued  increase in  foreign investment flows to the
good leadership of President Mwanawasa.

Speaking at the same function,  Finance minister who is also Chilanga member of
parliament Ng’andu Magande said there have been great developments in his
constituency.

Mr Magande said the shortage of farm land in the constituency has been resolved as
farmers with big tracts of  land have agreed to give part of it to anyone willing to
venture into farming.

Mr.Magande further said the road network in the area has improved.

He also announced that the Ministry of Health has confirmed that  money is available
for the construction of a hospital in his constituency.

Mr.Magande also disclosed that the construction of a High school in the area will
commence as soon as land is found in the constituency..

Magande who is also finance minister said the continuous appreciation of the kwacha
against the major international currencies is a good indication of economic growth.
